Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Is that booking a nextcruise too? My others do not have that but they were booked through a TA. With the deposit showing as being short and the booking not looking fully active (blue instead of the picture) it seems a bit off. Nothing is available in the cruise planner yet either but that could just be since the sailing is so far out.
  2. Imagine that right? LOL I have so little faith this is not an issue but was hoping the agent was right because I really am not excited at the idea of calling to straighten it out. But I also really do not want to put the extra $700 down for a cruise 2 years away when I shouldn't have to do it so I guess I will be calling......
  3. It's been a while since I've had a Nextcruise booking and Royal IT is wonky at best....my friend did an onboard booking Wednesday 11/8 for balcony cabins sailing in 2025 for ten nights. The booking is in my cruise planner and showing the $200 deposit paid (normal next cruise amount) with a $700 balance due by 11/15. It's also solid blue instead of showing a picture like my other bookings in the planner. She did go back to the agent while on the ship and he said it was fine, give it time to run through the system. Has this ever happened to anyone else recently? In the past, nextcruise bookings have always showed as the deposit fully paid with the reduced amount once visible in my cruise planner. Figured I would ask here before subjecting myself to calling Royal customer service if there is a chance this might still fix itself.....thanks!
  4. Depending on your booking, it might not be eligible. I have two cruises booked through Costco Travel and remember seeing they would not be eligible somewhere in the booking process. In both cases, I’m ok with that. We have an extended balcony on one and are traveling with another couple on the other. I’ll happily take the money we saved with Costco over Royal up bidding chances. 😊
  5. We had the same thing happen on a "small group tour" in cayman last month to the Turtle conservatory. Our bus had 14 people on it but when we got there, they combined us with another small bus and one regular size bus taking us on a tour of the facility. The guide was nice but he walked us past the areas quickly and took us off to the side to look at him while he gave us information on what we had just walked past. They easily wasted 10 minutes stressing for us to meet back at the front at a particular time and then our bus was 15 minutes late picking us up. We were beyond frustrated and annoyed with the situation. I went to the shore excursion desk that evening showed them a video I took of our "small group" and they refunded our money. We usually book with private vendors but I fell for the small group wording in the excursion description. I would be hesitant to trust them again in the future.
  6. We are in a C2 right now. Yes, it’s a blue chip booking. From my search, it seems as though the drink package does not come with the room so it would not be included. The email certainly makes it appear differently. I’m leaning to staying in our room and skipping the bidding. Thanks everyone for responding.
  7. The move up link for my sailing next month shows Royal Suite includes premium beverage package, premium wifi and unlimited specialty dining. The other suite categories do not include that bullet. My current booking was cruise only and we have purchased 2 drink packages, premium internet and 3 dining reservations totaling close to $1500. If I successfully bid on the RS, would they refund the pre-purchases for the newly included items? I know I could cancel them myself if the bid was accepted prior to sailing but I've heard of occasions where the cabin transfer has happened after check in. If I was to be refunded, I could bid higher to offset the money I've already laid out. Thanks!
  8. I am flying into FLL tomorrow from the northeast to board Apex. If our flight is significantly delayed, we will miss the ship. I called the day of number posted above over the weekend. Our first port is Key West, we thought we could just drive there and meet the ship. They will not allow us to board. Due to the Jones Act, if embarking in a US port, you must disembark at the same port. Port 2 is Belize, we cannot board there since it is a tender port. They would allow us to board on Day 5 in Cozumel (on a 7 night cruise). Trip insurance (Nationwide) would cover the cost to get us to the ship as a missed connection. We called to proactively know our situation since the weather concerns have been present for the last week here. Unfortunately, we were unable to move our departure earlier. Good luck, hopefully she will be able to catch up soon!
