It's the only Royal Suite on the Grandeur.   All I want is an answer from upper management as to how something like this could happen.  Let's get together and have some drinks I will share a tour of the suite with you.  2 weeks to go.  Can't wait.

its just how the program works. If you cancel they dont have to scramble to find someone to book your cabin, the can just accept the highest bid.

  2. I would definitely take advantage of this except I don't always know who I can cruise with. This offer requires full names at the time of deposit. I have often deposited with the other person(s) TBD.

I don't have many cruise addicts in my life such as myself and cannot always get commitments from my friends and family.

I leave for the Glory next weekend, had hoped to bring one of my grandkids but due to her school and work schedule, she did not know if she would be able to go when I deposited. (Yeah, she is going, we will have a blast)

I wish this $49 offer allowed me to deposit without the names of the other person(s).

You can always book it as a single, pay the double deposit and add anyone to your room. Since you are already paying double the new person would just pay the current fees and taxes.

  3. Usually they have a schedule of when Caribbean, Alaskan,Hawaiian, European, Transatlantics, South American,Australian and Asian cruises will be released.

Its a nice way to plan ahead..that should be posted in the next few weeks.

Can't remember what day it was first posted last year.

  4. Otherwise really depends on the chartering company.

Usually they have a website that you can see the itinerary and find out if they are doing something unique.

Some will leave the embarkation port later than others, but boarding is usually the same.

Yes, it will count as just like a regular cruise and you will get the same perks.

With the room matching the ones I have done had a website/message board where the people booked could chat and try to find a roommate, if you are platinum or diamond people will want to room with you to get some of those perks :-)

Dining is also a wildcard. If its a singles cruise they will can rotate so you have a chance to eat with different people or you can choose to dine early or late. That should be listed on their website.

The biggest thing I have noticed on my charters is the entertainment is much nicer because they are serving a niche market. Not sure if you are doing a music charter, singles charter etc..but many charters bring on their own DJ's, comedian's, bands and emcees. The cruise director won't be around much if at all.

I have always had fun on the charters, the big plus it was all adults and people were up all night long lol clubs packed every night and after parties up on deck.

Hopefully if you go it will be a good experience.

  5. Carnival sticks Gosling's ginger beer. Just on the Miracle last month. It makes a great Dark and Stormy cocktail! Just bought some at home, it is amazing and nothing lme ginger ale!

    Thanks

The Moscow Mule is very good, not too sweet. It was on the Alchemy Bar menu on Conquest last November.

I'm wondering if they have Ginger beer fleetwide or just in ships with the Alchemy bar.

  6. Found this on another thread

So far we have the following matches

    CRUISE LINES

    Royal Caribbean:-

    Platinum goes to MSC Silver;

Diamond and above goes to MSC Black

(By deduction I would expect Emerald to go to Gold)

    Celebrity:-

Elite and above goes to MSC Black

    Princess:-

    Elite goes to MSC Black

    Carnival:-

    Platinum goes to MSC Gold

    Diamond goes to MSC Black

    NCL:-

    Platinum goes to MSC Black

    Disney:-

    Platinum goes to MSC Black

    HOTEL CHAINS

    Hyatt:-

    Platinum goes to MSC Black

    Marriot:-

    Platinum goes to MSC Black

  7. There is a difference between ginger ale and ginger beer. Ginger ale is a carbonated beverage made from water, ginger and lots of sugar. Ginger beer is brewed and fermented and has a lot (believe me) of ginger in it, but there is no alcohol in it.

I asked John Heald on FB and he believes it is included but he's checking to confirm.

Do you recall which brand of Ginger beer is onboard??

  8. You can make the booking first and they will apply the discount after the match goes through. I booked first then submitted my RCI Diamond info. I had to call abck to get the fare adjustment.

With Elite you should get Black Card with MSC.

Is the price adjustment based on the price you paid or the current price, if there has been an increase?

Wondering which to submit. I'm platinum on Carnival and Emerald on Royal. Guess I need to do some searching.

  9. You can also restock at each port.

    https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2633/~/liquor-and-beverage-policy

A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought onboard as well as Carnival branded bottled water previously purchased onboard. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person.

  10. Yeah they will just send the carafe of hot water and the packets.

Wish it was a way to have the stuff on the lido deck from the machine available. That would be so nice while sailing in Alaska.

I've always just gotten cups from the machine and dumped them in my larger mug.

  11. I like to do B2Bs when I can spend one cruise doing land excursions like para sailing, zip lining, jet skiing, flyboarding, riding ATVs

Then the next cruise spend all my time snorkeling and scuba diving .

    Aka surf and turf :-)

  12. The one time I sailed out of Tampa there were dozens of those mini buses from retirement centers, dropping off residents. Hopefully, that was a one off.

Otherwise you guys will be getting lots of numbers from grandma's wanting to find a catch for their single granddaughters.

  13. unless they are in the same terminal together, you can't walk. Jump in a cab and explain to the driver that you're sorry that it (most likely) will be such a short ride and that you'll tip extremely well to make up for it.

Unless you have mobility issues there is no reason you can't walk it. I have done it many times.

From one end of Miami terminal to the other is less than a 3-5 min walk.

Maybe you are thinking about Port Everglades.

Usually they are docked right next to each other
