They increased most of their prices recently and are giving big onboard credits.
My cruise in a suite increased by two thousand dollars and they are "giving" 1500 onboard credit.

Ah yes -
The dinning times. It has been so long since I dinned.:p

As has been emplied by other posts Bermuda decides who comes there not the cruiselines.

If that is your plane I envy you. Was checked out in it many years ago. A great plane. Ended up never flying it though.

Does anyone remember the two cruise ships they tried to build in Louisiana. They finally gave up and towed the hulls to Europe to be completed. These were American workers not used to the thin steel used on cruise ships.

The OP thought that getting a diet soda and ketchup each night was "Top Notch".
By that definition all cruise lines qualify.
-
My understanding from the business news is that this ship will operate as a China based cruisline with Carnival assisting in construction and operation.
-
No it is not top notch.
However you can still get soda and ketchup.

Traveled on QM2 one time a couple of years ago in Queens Grille. The experience is much to formal. Everyone should do the Queens Grille one time. The dining experience is exceptional. The menu is only to be used as a suggestion. You may order whatever is on the ship and tell them how you want it prepared. Lobster stuffed with crab meat every night, no problem.
Other than that the Queens Grille passengers were interesting and we enjoyed their company. The ship is the poorest design of any we have been on.
Would not sail Cunard again even in the Queens Grille.

The food has declined as has the whole cruise experience. To get what Royal would have given you 25 years ago you would have to go on one of the upscale lines at 4 or 5 times what you now pay RCCL.

When you get to the end of the pier there is golf cart to take you to the beach. No reservation is needed since the consierge will be there.
-
All available cabins are any cruiselines deep and closely guarded secrets. You will never see them all.
-
Would not advise anyone to pay extra for Chops. We go once on each cruise because we are given one in the price of a suite. So we are paying I guess. No better than main dining room.

Philly was then known as a tough town for comedians.

Scooter --
We have been on the Grandeur many times in a GS. You may occasionally hear a chair being moved when they are cleaning but nothing at all to worry about. We will be on again in March.
-
Ah yes. The dinnner hour.
-
Remember what was said when they named the new line Azamara?

Have found out that in our situation we are not considered as prepaying.
Our gratuities are paid by our TA. They are billed at the end of the cruise not at the beginning.

We travel in suites and have gratuities prepaid. Because they are prepaid we cannot book anytime dining. We just have the concierge change it when we get on the ship.
Show up anytime with the gold card and you will be seated.:)
-
Ah yes. The dinning room again.:p

What is this Dinning thing?
Your house has a dining room.
It seems that ships have dinning rooms as many posters use this.:D

Royal Viking Line was the top of the line. No cruiseline out there now even comes close. Rather than cheapen the experience in order to cut prices they shut down. Still get credit on Cunard for cruising RVL. Cunard, and therefor Carnival, owns the right to the name. We cruised only with them until they stopped. We were on the last cruise of the Star before it became Norwegian Star.

Went on Quark Expeditions on the icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov on a 14 night expedition to see emperor penguins and their chicks in Antarctica in 2008. Ran over 45,000 for 3 people, plus 5,000 in airfare and travel insurance of 2,500 for 3 people.
Saw that ship in port in Ushuaia that year when we went around South America. May have been you.
Best B2B - What port, ship and date ??
