  1. Recently returned from a TA in November on the Jewel. The Windjammer food was good. There were a lot of Indian dishes...a lot of curries.

I was not over the top with the menus in the MDR. I was usually able to select something from the menu. If you let the waiter know you have preferences they are usually very eager to please.

  2. Recommend take Leonardo Express from FCO Airport to Roma Termini . Then taxi to Hotel Campo de Fiori (at Campo de Fiori). Within walking distance of Piazza Farnesse, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Castel de St Angelo, Church of St Andrea de Valle, St Peters and Vatican Museums .

Then taxi to Termini and train to Civitavecchia .

I stayed at Hotel Campo de Fiori on my last visit to Rome. Nice accommodations and staff was wonderful. We enjoyed the location as well. I would not hesitate on returning there.

  3. This isn't a problem on the Radiance class...but ok if you don't want to book those wonderful tru afts..many of us will ;)

Almost always book aft cabins...if you prefer under the Windjammer that is your preference. I prefer to have a good night sleep to enjoy my cruise. I make sure there are cabins above me after that experience. To each their own.

  4. I think you get 20kg on Virgin.

Have to take my CPAP machine, then there is my Computer, Tablet and Camera Gear. That will account for most of my luggage allowance. SWMBO will take the toiletries and her clothes. I will wear mine over and have a few other things used as padding around the important stuff.

CPAP is medical device...I have never been charged for it and was not counted against the limit of baggage.

  5. I had an aft cabin under the Windjammer on another ship. Very early (about 4 AM) daily we heard staff moving what sounded like tables and chairs around. We never had a good night of sleep. We spoke with several others in cabins in same area and everyone was experiencing the same thing. We spoke with guest relations and it was better for one night. Now I always check to be sure what is above or below my cabin. I enjoyed my cruise but it would have been better if I had been well rested.

  6. My late husband had a pituitary tumor and was a very tall and large man. He loved cruising and RCCL was always happy to make sure he was comfortable. They had an armless chair for him in the MDR. There are seating options in the theater. There is also some seating at the top of the skating rinks that are not stadium seats that work fine.

Go enjoy your cruise and congratulations on your journey and success with your weight loss!
