Yeah there is definitely a lot to take in during the trip down the river. I'd love to take that trip during the summer when it stays light out longer
Hope I'm not invading your tread
From when I did the conquest August, 2012

Maybe you'll have better luck next time you cruise out of New Orleans [emoji16][emoji6]
Some of the pictures that I find good were taken down river.

Thank You. The sun was setting was the perfect time behind the skyline
You've did better than what I've got when leaving New Orleans.

We were starting to pull away from the dock. I had a friend on the Norwegian Dawn this week so I told her to get pics of the Dream as we pull out of New Orleans and I will get pics for you of the Dawn
Beautiful sunset over New Orleans
I love this picture
I love the New Orleans skyline
Some great pictures of the cityline.

Questions such as....when or what size vessels will replace the aging Fantasy class vessels that can sail underneath the low bridges in Port Tampa Bay and Jacksonville?
That or is carnival will start exploring other areas/itineraries.

Brings the question of what about the old vessels in the fleet

It would seem counter-intuitive to send the newest ship in the line anywhere but the highest traffic port. I would wager she will be home ported in Miami after spending the summer season in the Mediterranean.
The Sunshine, while re-fitted, is an older smaller ship - key on smaller. They are going to want to get their moneys worth out of the Vista right out of the gate. Winter and Florida go hand in hand in vacation speak.
We can all speculate until the cows come home but we should find out CCL's plans fairly soon!
Not all new builds went to Florida. Destiny to ny, conquest to New Orleans, magic to Galveston, but all a guessing game for us.

Now that there is a Dog House onboard we will enjoy that for a complimentary snack or lunch from time to time.:)
For those who will be sailing after March 14 the Dynamic Dining reservations will be opening Jan 1. I am not sure how far they go out.
That is something I want to know for DD

I'm sailing out of ft lauderdale 8-29-15

I posted this in the other thread but haven't gotten an answer, does anyone know why the cove balconies aren't available for the extended Dream itineraries in January?
I was wondering the same for the October sailings too

Just read the descriptions of the two terminals and note the investment made in the Carnival terminal, now the Erato Street Cruise Terminal and Parking Complex.
I think this gives a clue as to RCI's current decision and they will be back when they get the same level of investment in 'their' terminal.
The Julia terminal got the investment and upgrades first before the Erato terminal their upgrades.

We have late dinning so we should be able to watch the river until it gets too dark to see. Which in the first part of January will probably be by 6:00 or earlier. :( Would love to watch the approach back into New Orleans. Any idea what time that will be Sunday morning?
It will be somewhere between 5-5:30 am to be back

Not really on the ship, but the dream sailing into the sunset

What's that rising above deck 16 behind the Solarium on the Oasis 3 in this rendering ...
(Thanks to Matthew Brand for finding this great rendering)
Looks like they're revamping the aft.

Just remember to watch the oil rigs on your way back before getting into the Mississippi.

Always start with the funship special and catch sunsets on the balcony.

Kind of an odd shot of the conquest whale tail hiding behind a satellite.
