If you're going again it must be nice. You seem to have specialised in only cruising on this ship and one other. What's the secret?

We are booked on this cruise.

We are paying $5082, for an Oceanview, because that is all we could get.:(

We have done this cruise before, October 2013 followed by Volendam to Melbourne, because we could disembark in Melbourne.:)

I don't know how long his contract would be.

We just returned from Serenade and 5 members became Pinnacle during the cruise. They received gold cards with no Pinnacle benefits. A couple even had to buy their 300something $ internet package (one device free for ea Pinnacle) and the cheap hotel director and Loyalty ambassador insisted on no Pinnacle benefits until next cruise. Two inquiries were negative. But I am sure this hotel director is an exception as he is known in the community to dislike Pinnacles.

 

So if you become Pinnacle soon, plan on NOT sailing the Serenade when O-lin is hotel director.

 

@ Bob -and yes there are two Pinnacle only Facebook site where you have to register with your Pinnacle proof.

Another Pinnacle friend was on a B2B.

She was told by the LA that she had to wait until the 2nd leg, after the Pinnacle cruise.

She pushed the issue, the LA emailed Miami, and then the LA had to profusely apologise.

She was recognised, and got an extra free bottle of wine.

I was told by a Pinnacle friend, that she received ALL of the Pinnacle perks, from the 1st day of her cruise.

I'll see what happens in September.:)

There are 497 Diamonds, 325 Diamond +, 48 Pinnacles on Explorer at the moment.

I just asked that question yesterday.:)

I have seen this done before, when there are large numbers.

When I was on EX last month, for 21 days, this was not done.

Personally I would go back to the Royal Family Suite. It's a cabin for 8. There are two bedrooms and two showers. It's a Sky Class suite so everyone gets the same perks.

My DH would love a shirt that says 'First cruise', as that is what he tells everyone.:)

I wonder if anyone has tried carrying on two and checking two in the luggage. If security isn't tracking how many bottles each cabin has, it might be possible.

Better check your cruise counters. It has you on the Oasis and Freedom at the same time lol.

 

I have heard a rumor that they are going to eventually eliminate the DL for the Diamonds and just let them have their three free drinks. The DL would then become the D+/Pinnacle Lounge. Also an additional level would be established between D+ and Pinnacle. Just a rumor- started two years ago. Anyway. It would make sense. Our last cruise, we couldn't get a seat in the DL or the CL. We ended up in the Olive or Twist (aka Viking Lounge) and the bar tenders treated us as if we were in the DL not asking to swipe our cards or anything. It was exceptional!

We had dinner with the Marketing & Revenue Manager on Legend a couple of nights ago.

He said that a new level between Diamond Plus & Pinnacle is back on the table this year.:eek:

I heard on a radio program, a while ago, that the reason more cruise ships don't come to Melbourne, is that it has one of the most expensive docking fees in the world.

I don't know if this is true.

I am still seeing Wine packages, though not advertised, not really promoted and not available to purchase beforehand.
