The cruise ships are no longer allowed in Venice proper.   If you have an overnight in Ravenna, the ship will stay there until departure on the second day.  You are free to come and go.   There should be excursions offered for day 2 that would include transportation to Venice.

Thank you! I booked this cruise on a whim without any research so I have a lot of planning to do!

  2. Does anyone have a recommendation for a boat tour where we can experience the mud baths and waterfall then swim by the pitons? I see a lot of discussions about Cosol and Spencer but it seems like the former doesn't  have boat tours and the latter has us worried enough to not book with him.

Did the swim with pigs through NCL from their private island, Great Stirrup Cay, which is right next door to Coco Cay. So I would assume it would be the same. Take a very short boat ride to the island with the pigs. Have a safety briefing. Go in water and show the pigs you have some apple for them. They swim in the water to you to eat the apple. The facility staff takes some pictures which I felt were reasonably priced. We just did it in December and we are 52. We had a good time. So I would think a 6 year old would love it

The pigs look healthy,  did they seem like they were cared for? I usually don't participate in animal based activities (swim with dolphins, hold a sloth) unless it's at a legitimate rescue with the goal of rehabilitation/release, but these pigs are calling to me ❤ Just want to make sure I'm not funding cruelty/extreme captivity.

  4. Thank you for sharing your vacation! This spring I'll be on the Oasis for my second cruise with Royal Caribbean. I have tons of questions,  hopefully you'll be able to answer a couple to help out this confused cruiser.

    1. When does the pre-cruise online check-in begin? At midnight or sometime in the morning?

    2.  When can I start reserving seats for entertainment shows? How does it work? I'm also cruising with six other people in 3 different cabins, how do we reserve seats together?

    3. Can you tell me how reservations for the Windjammer works?

  5. Has anyone ever seen makeup application offered on a cruise? Specifically on Royal Caribbean. My shy, introverted teenage niece will be on our family cruise this spring. Her mom (my sister) got married last fall and my niece had so much fun getting hair and makeup professionally done with all the adult women in the wedding party. I'd like to try and replicate that with my niece, mom, sister and me on our trip.

  6. Does anyone have pictures of an inside cabin on Oasis? Or suggestions on where to look.

This spring will be our second time on Royal. The first time we sailed on Adventure and booked a balcony. We usually book insides but wanted to be next to family on the last one. This time we're sticking with inside and I am curious about what it looks like on Royal.

    Thanks!

Where do you have to go to meet the tour? Is it a cruise tour or independent? Which pier are you at?

It's an independent tour. Our cruise ship docks at the international pier and our tour meets at the downtown ferry dock.
