When we cruised last month, the form asked if you had traveled to certain regions (last 20 days I think), your general health (fever, etc). I'm guessing they've now added information about ongoing health issues such as diabetes, etc. they may have added age, but that wouldn't make sense as they know how old you are. We got notification yesterday afternoon (for our cruise tomorrow) that anyone over 70 has to have a "fit to sail" letter from doctor to board. No way we could get that in a day, so our only choice was to cancel. This information was for sailings up to 3/16.
Hope this helps.
We’re on the Vista right now and that is exactly what was on the questionnaire when we boarded March 7th. But in reading the news about 70 year old + and also the articles about turning away Diabetes patients it assuredly will include much more.

We just booked a cruise for next Monday (in 5 days) I’m wondering if they will give me ours? It says 14 days out as a minimum.... we booked two rooms and we both have stock....we will see, as soon as I find a fax machine!
I’ve seen turn around as fast as 2 business days but sometimes longer. I include cover page, asking for email confirmation...

I suggest Fascination: San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Martin, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados. We did this itinerary a couple years ago in December and had an absolute blast. If you are into snorkeling or diving, please please please skip St. Thomas and do it in St. Lucia. St. Thomas marine wildlife is completely different nowadays, and St Lucia's is almost untouched. Have a wonderful time!!
I would have to second that emotion! I agree with others that port intensive cruises can be taxing but pacing is essential. We did this cruise in June. Stayed 2 days in PR before cruise ( doing old San Juan things) and 2 days after (staying in a nice hotel right one one of their gorgeous beaches). We did beach days at most of the ports except St. Maarten, where we did the snorkeling excursions where the jumbo jets fly over) and St. Lucia where we did the grand tour b/c we wanted to see the Pitons.
I was concerned before the cruise that we would not like the ship. It is small and old but... you’re not on the ship that much and IMHO it’s not one of those cruises where you need a grand ship and all that comes with it. I would have to put this cruise up these as one of our favs b/c of all the beautiful places we got to see.

Thank you for your detailed review. Very informative. We’ve sailed both lines and some others and each time we begin researching our next cruise, we look at all the lines, generally looking at destinations and cost. Our last cruise was on one of Holland America’s new ships. We chose it b/c of itinerary and believe it or not it was cheaper than Carnival. We enjoyed the cruise but I’m not sure we will cruise with them again. We didn’t quite feel that we fit in, even though we liked the food, ship, crew and ports of call.
There are ships we’ve been on that we would not do again. Generally for us, there is a lot of factors to consider when deciding on a cruise. We’re not settled on one line so we’re still playing the field, so to speak...

She's a nice ship with much art work that I found unusual. Be sure to patronize the NY Deli and Pizza station. Deli sandwiches and pizzas that I enjoyed. Sel de Mar is a winner as well for a fine dining experience.
Thank you rkacruiser! Those all sound wonderful!
