On Horizon a couple of weeks ago, we went to the Pig & Anchor BBQ on deck 5. It’s free at lunch time and only open during embarkation and sea days.
I would recommend Pig & Anchor BBQ as well. It’s something different. It’s not bad; and there is no charge for something you would ordinarily pay extra for.

Nice review! Thank you!

Great review! Not too long, not too short... we’re looking forward to Spring Break on the Vista!

Hilton has their HHonors program. You get points regardless whether you stay at a Hilton, Doubletree, Hampton, etc. I wish Carnival Corp would combine programs. We mostly sail Princess and Carnival. We are Platinum on Princess and will be Gold after our next sailing on Carnival. We book on the line that offers the best itinerary for where we want to go or want to do. I wish that they would create one loyalty program across all of their cruise lines.

I booked our upcoming cruise when there were only a handful of Havana Cabanas left. We got 5240 which is next to the Havana Bar so we may be up all night listening to music. I figure it's vacation so we might as well enjoy it and go with the flow!🙂

On our first cruise we had to share our OV cabin with our 18 year old son. I thought that was bad. Bless your heart! Glad you had a good time!

I have a very small extension cord that has multiple outlets since there are not many in the room. Comes in handy when charging things.

Really enjoyed your review MITSUGIRLY. All the pictures were phenomenal!

Eastern for us. We love St Maarten. We also enjoyed the Southern as well. Aruba is really nice!

Thanks Schoifmom! I'm not sure how good a deal it is. Steakhouse is $38 + 2 x $15 vouchers is $68; so save $8. Is my math correct?

Apparently Carnival is planning on testing a dining package on the Horizon. I've read about it several places on the internet. Google: "john heald horizon dining package" and you'll get several hits.

...exactly why I bring slacks with elastic "helpers" hidden in the belt line.
I think I swell at sea... 🙂

Research what to do in each port.

At least once a day; usually lunch. Best cruise burger we've ever had on any cruise line!

Ask your room steward. They can have the partitions unlocked for you.

just because Carnival does not enforce rules, however there are rules and you should be respectful.
Why are there rules if there not going to be enforced?

We no longer eat in the MDR. We either eat at a specialty restaurant or do the buffet or get a burger at Guy's. Our main complaints about the MDR dining is the service is almost always slow, the food many times is no longer warm when it gets to the table and it just does not seem to wow us anymore... We just have other things to do than spend 3 hours of our evening in the MDR.

I'm just a little confused as to why you'd stay in Webster. Why not stay in Houston (airport area) or just go straight to Galveston.
I would not stay the night before a cruise near either Houston airports... If you talking IAH, it's on the wrong side of Houston totally opposite from Galveston. As far as Hobby goes, I would not stay in this area of town because its not the area of town you want to be staying in... The only way I would stay near either airport was only if my flight landed at 2:00am and I was too tired to go further. My advise: get as close to Galveston as possible. You'll be glad the next morning!

I believe you should have no problem using Uber from the port to the Hotels (or to beaches)
This is the Uber San Juan Link: https://www.uber.com/cities/san-juan-pr/
We did not use Uber from the port to our Hotel, or from our Hotel to the port, but we found no problem in May using them for transportation to and back from beaches from Old San Juan, being dropped off right in front of the Sheraton on the way back from the beaches
I used this to estimate the cost to Uber from the Airport to the Sheraton Old Town San Juan and the Taxi fare was exactly the same.

I can't say about Vieques but we went to Laguna Grande a few years ago and it was absolutely magnificent. The only problem we had was that when we were kayaking back, it was so dark and there were so many other kayakers trying to traverse then mangroves trees that it seemed rather dangerous but we all made it back and looking back made it even more exciting...

When I sign in it takes me to the "My Cruise Manager" page. Is that where you see the "Offers" link? I'm not spotting it.
I found it by clicking on my name link that takes me to my profile page. On the profile page, Offers is on the left side.

After you purchase them, in a day or so you will get an email that says Newegg – eGift Card Certificate. In this email, is a link to view/print the gift certificate. When you view the gift certificate, you will see a card number and pin code. You can use these numbers to make online payment to a cruise, place a depsoit, make funshop orders, etc. If you want to use it on board, print out that whole page and give it to guest services on board to use on the shipThanks! After buying them yesterday, I received an email with links to certificates just in a matter of a few hours. The linked pages for the certificates allowed yo to prompt if you wanted but all I needed were card numbers and PIN's. I then logged on to Carnival.com and bought Cruise Cash from the Funshop for my cruise coming up using the e-gift cards...
I love opinions! Steakhouse or Cucina for Birthday Dinner??

You can’t go wrong with either one but if you have to choose, then I would have to recommend the Steakhouse. The steaks are really good!
