  1. Thanks! Exactly how it worked in Australia too, up until just lately. Occasionally there was a Sailaway, which I never book, but always there were options of Free at Sea OR Just the cruise.
  2. Actually, whenever I've booked an NCL cruise it HAS worked that way here in Australia. The last NCL cruise was 14-28 Feb. 2020, just as covid closed everything down. There'd never been a time we couldn't select from Free at Sea or Just the cruise, exactly as TrumpyNor explained they can do in Europe. That's the way it always was here, too.
  3. I've sometimes seen a Sailaway rate, but not often. However our cabin location is important for us; after so many cruises we know what works best for us, and will help me avoid motion sickness. So if my only option with NCL will now be a Sailaway, that's not good enough when we've been frequent travellers on NCL, to be put in the position where we have no choice about our cabin location or our options for add-ons. So sadly, it seems we're going to have to give NCL a miss from now on, which does make me sad because I'm pretty sure that more than half of our 32 or so cruises have been with NCL. I've been looking on the NCL site, and normally any TA's I've used (one being my daughter) have sometimes found me lower fares, but similar promotions as if I booked on the NCL site.
  4. We've done many wonderful NCL cruises, are Sapphire level, and were looking forward to once again booking with NCL. We've cruised a lot, with several cruiselines, but NCL is our favourite. We're in Australia. I was just browsing upcoming cruises as Norwegian Spirit is coming to Australia. Then I noticed the "Free at Sea" promotion can't be removed. I can untick the beverage package and the specialty dining; the shore excursion credit and the wifi package can't be excluded. Even if I de-select dining and beverage, the fare remains the same. We get 2 specialty dinners via our Sapphire perks. We would prefer these days NOT to have wifi as we enjoy the break from devices, plus we spent so many years cruising and needing wifi due to my husband having to be in constant touch with his business ... so now he's retired and we want to relax. So what to do? We simply don't want to pay more for a cruise than we feel comfortable with, and in the light of HAVING to take the so called "free at sea" promotion, we'd be paying for things we don't need or want. In effect, we'd be helping pay for others' beverages but getting nothing for our benefit. Thoughts, anyone, please?
  5. I've found it a help to look at the deckplans on cruisedeckplans.com as many cabins have a little image, sometimes a video, beside them. If you find a cabin near your's that has had a pic added, you can work out by counting alternately, ie bed by balcony, bed by bathroom, etc. I've chosen our Ovation deck 11 cabin (11658) using that method, now I wait 3 more weeks to find out if I was correct!

  7. Just wondering if anyone else is finding it impossible to access cruise personaliser from the website. I was able to do it without problem a few weeks ago. In fact I added most of our info that way as the APP was so frustrating. Now I can't get on. I can login to my account on the Princess site. I can see my "Upcoming cruise". There's a Manage Booking green rectangle there... Now when I click it I get an errror message. I've phoned Princess twice, no luck there, but today someone emailed to say I'm obviously all fine now as they can see all my info is there. Not the point... I can't login on my computer and access ANY booking details. If I try to log in again via the blue button (I'm already logged in though) I just go around in a loop. This is what I get when I click through from my cruise listing. Anyone else?

I just came on here to report yes, though I'd already ordered the medallions and lanyards twice, and they were represented on the app for quite a while, I hadn't noticed they'd disappeared recently. So I re-ordered just then. Still says blue lane in one area, green in other area, maybe takes time to synchronise. Here's hoping we don't get 3 medallions each after ordering 3 times!
  9. I have checked but found nothing else. Everything else is ticked, but I'll try again because that awful app is so counter intuitive.
  10. Our's were fine when we first uploaded them. Weeks later they disappeared and we've uploaded over and over since then, always pending. Doesn't seem to matter if it's jpg or pdf format. I'm fine with ignoring it, but I'm not fine with the fact this problem has turned us from green lane to blue lane, which is going to slow the whole process of check-in down for us due to nothing under our control.
  11. So glad this video was posted. Today we booked 3134 which is in the same group of cabins. The window was something I'd read about a couple of years ago so I booked 3134 (the only cabin available in this group) specifically for the window.
