  1. The three ships ( Freedom, Liberty, and Inderpendence) are all basically the same. I've been on all of them and other than the shows and art work they are identical. That said, I have alway had a fondness for Liberty and consider it my favorite Freedom class ship. It just has some thing special about it.

  2. Yes, the Summit leaves it's berth in Port Liberty and heads north for a photo op. It "holds" in the harbor anchorage until the Breakway approaches and then Summit spins and follows Breakway out of the harbour. I've sailed Summit three times to Bermuda and have never done this. As I stated earlier, this is the fourth week in a row they have headed to the statute for photos. The "chatter" from the harbour master and the various ships is interesting to listen to. I hope the statue photo ops continue.

  3. I have never heard of him or seen him on any of my many Celebrity cruises, so I Googled him out of curiosity and, wow, listening to him is like waiting for death in a retirement home. Glad I won't have to worry about running across him on any future cruises. And people are talking about cancelling their Celebrity cruises to follow him around?? My goodness!

WOW, you should turn in your card now.

  4. This is the result of several issues:

    1. RCCL (like all cruise lines) is a business and needs to turn a profit for their shareholders. Customers are not really a priority, profits are.

    2. Lowering the base price of the cruise to fill ships "attracts" a certain demographic that results in behaviors that force a business to make alternative decisions. If they raised the base price to include all the options, the mega ships would not sail full. Getting people on board and then wowing them, and dazzling them with exceptional marketing is the name of the game.

  5. We did this in March on the Eclipse. It was great!!! We were the only two people that signed up for the workshop so we had a private tasting. Learned a lot, had some great and expensive wines. The difference in taste from glass to glass was amazing. Really nice having the individualized attention. We would totally do it again, but nothing will beat our private tasting.

You do get 4 machine made glasses. You can tell hand made glasses because the Reidel name is etched into the glass on handmade glasses. Rub your finger on the underside of the base and you can feel it.

  6. Limoguy1,

Tell us a little about yourself and your travel party. The other posters may be able to provide you with some ideas that are of interest to you. This is the 4th year in a row that we are doing Summit to Bermuda. The ferry/bus passes are available right on the pier. They are well marked, but all you really have to do is follow the growd on the first day. When are you sailing?
