  1. Wear what you want .It's your cruise .It others have a problem its their problem

This is such a selfish statement. The guidelines are there for a reason. When you drive at home it is your road, right? Does that mean it's OK to go ahead drive on the wrong side if you want to? Probably not.

  2. How are you the one to decide if a person SHOULD use the elevator? The only requirement for whether or not I SHOULD use the elevator.. is... If I WANT to use the elevator. That is up to me.. not you, or anyone else. Does not matter how far I ride or how fit I am, I have every right to use it.

Exactly my point. YOU should decide when you use the elevator but COMMON COURTESY should dictate that at certain times you should not use the elevator.

  3. The use of the elevators on a ship is NOT ANYONE can go take the elevator ANYTIME they want for ANY reason they want for as few floors as they want to. It is none of your concern. Those waiting: get on and squeeze in. Those already on: make some room for others please. :)

I have to disagree. CAN anyone take an elevator anytine they want to? Sure. SHOULD they? Maybe not. I liken it to this....

Ever been in your car at a crosswalk waiting to make a right turn but someone is walking in the crosswalk so you have to wait for them to get across before you can make your turn? Happens to all of us. What drives me nutso is when the walker takes their jolly old time. Of course they have the right of way and they can walk at any pace they want to but for god's sake, PLEASE pick up the pace (even slightly) so I can make my turn. If I am the walker and I know someone is waiting for me to cross before they can turn I kick it up a notch. Just because you can walk at any pace you want to does not mean you should. This applies to many things in life including the current conversation.

Some things are just common courtesy and common courtesy is sadly what most people lack.

AND....if you are one of those people (and you know who you are) that stick your arm in the elevator to stop the door a half second before it is about to close??? Watch out! You need to wait for the next elevator!

  4. Agree about the laziness thing but when did it become a crime to be lazy? Isn't that what vacations are for? Decompress, be lazy, eat badly, drink too much, for 7 days until people get back to the Grind.

Well......that's why I nap in a chair for an hour after I climb the stairs!

  5. No, when they can run to catch it before the door closes while laughing and are 40 years old it's pretty easy to judge and call them lazy and more or less rude.

    You beat me to it.

YES - there are certainly cases where it looks like someone might be able to use the stairs when in actuality they can't but the majority of the time it is just laziness. AND, you know what? Most times I do not want to take the stairs if I am only going up 3-4 flights yet I still do. Why? Because I have a general concern for my health and would like to think that staying active (in other words TAKING THE STAIRS) will be of benefit to me later in life.

  6. Why would anyone be offended to be asked to wash their hands! people need to get over themselves and their sense of entitlement....

I ALWAYS wash before eating. Sometimes though (a lot of times actually) I go directly to the buffet after leaving my cabin where I have just washed my hands. Not having touched anything on the way to the buffet, why would I want/need to wash again? I am not sure I would be offended, but I would be annoyed to have to do it again. I do see people going to the buffet though after doing some pretty nasty stuff with their hands so overall I support the idea.

Also, every time I use a buffet utensil to get food, I use the sanitizer in my pocket before I eat. I am convinced this keeps me from catching a cold (or worse) while I am on board.

And while we are at it....KEEP YOUR HAT OFF OF THE TABLE!!!! That's another one that annoys me.

  7. We booked onboard last week on Oasis-on day 4-at Guest Services. Our guide told us they take 60 guests per week-in groups of 15. The tour was great and worth the money. There were no refreshments/souvenirs offered on our tour.

How much $$ are we talking about?

  8. Help me here....

We reserved and PAID $30/pp already. Certainly they can't change something we already paid for can they? Others are right....it was a struggle to get the times we wanted at the time we made the initial dining reservations. Certainly now anything we'd want any where near the times we need is gone so re-booking another venue is not an option.

  9. Hello. My wife and I are seasoned Celebrity cruisers. We have sailed Royal 3x previously but it has been about 10 years. In November we are taking a 12-night cruise on the Anthem. Because of our status on Celebrity, we are considered DIAMOIND level for this cruise on Royal.

What (if anything) can we expect in the way of discounts on laundry services? On Celebrity we get two bags (up to 30 items) of laundry for FREE. Is there anything like this available on Royal? If not, outside of the Diamond benefits are there generally any other laundry discounts given on a 12-night cruise?

    Thank you in advance.

  10. Hi FOODIESAILOR,

So the A2s were modified... While the A1s were new cabin modules... And these latter cabins are far closer therefore to their sister cabins that are on S-Class Ships

Respectfully, This is not really the case. The cabins on 11 on the M class ships are essentially identical to the cabins on 9. They are not at all like the cabins on the S class ships.

  11. When we sailed Summit, we opted for the aqua cabins on deck 11 for a few reasons...

1- These are NEW cabins that were added just a few years ago, not refurbished cabins

2- The balcony has little cover but it is not totally covered by the BIG overhang like the ones on deck 9 are. Some see the cover on 9 as an advantage...we saw it as a disadvantage.

3- There is virtually nothing above you except little used open deck space. Never heard a sound.

As a side note, you are also very close to the buffet and there is very little foot traffic on 11.

  12. Assuming you are bringing your luggage to the pier, I would just wait and affix the ones you can get there. These will be sturdy. The ones you get there will be blank but you just fill in your name, ship, cabin number etc. The porter then takes your bags and they go to your room just like if you had affixed the labels at home.

  13. We booked our flights MONTHS ago. Celebrity suggests no flights out any earlier than 11:30. We booked an 11:40 flight.

Just got word today that the flight time has been changed to 11:05. Should I reschedule or keep it as it is? We have never cruised Hawaii so I am interested in hearing from anyone that has. Thank you.

  14. I tried to sign onto 'My Celebrity' today and got a message that was all blurred and it said

    "this website no longer exist".

YES - it was mispelled in that manner. This was 10 minutes after I had already been on the site and navigated away from it.

  15. We have a 12 night cruise planned on the Solstice in September. This sails from Vancouver to Hawaii. Generally a 12 night cruise has three formal nights. The first five nights we are at sea. I assume two of the formal nights will be within these five days. Any idea what other night (if any) will be the third formal night? We have two overnight island stays so I assume it would not be either of those two nights. Thanks in advance.

  16. I think it depends on the ship...

We were on the Summit after BLU was added. BLU was quiet and very intimate. Much like a specialty restaurant.

BLU on the Reflection seemed to be just the opposite - a farily large space that was just as loud and chaotic as the MDR on many evenings.

We MUCH preferred BLU on the Summit but I know others will disagree.

  17. Seems like you are being very selfish to try to stay on until 11:00. The crew needs to do lots of stuff before the new passengers get on and you are just interfering w their work. Get off ASAP to make their life easier.

    DON

Hardly - Original poster was asking a question to which he/she did not know the answer. What makes this selfish? They asked, got replies, now they know.
