Thanks.. I thought flying into Orlando , and cruiseing out of Port Canaveral was the longest distance .. We may even look into New orleans or Texas ports too.. for prices. As it gets closer.

We are looking to book a family cruise to the Caribbean ( 4 coming in from Canada, 2 from Pennsylvania) I am looking for which docks are the easiest to get to from the major airports ? We will shop for a cruise after we learn this information.. Flying in from Canada, might be the biggest problem.

I really don't drink..I will only have maybe 2-3 drinks total for the whole cruise.. so a drink package would never work for me.. where can I find a bar drink menu and price guide for 2023 cruises?

I found a shuttle service (GetTransfer.com) Driver meets inside the baggage claim, and help with the baggage .

An Uber is probably your cheapest and best option. Its about 25 mins from the St. Pete airport to the cruise port in normal traffic
Thank You.. we will look into it .

We are flying into St. Petersburg/ Clearwater Fl. for our cruise out of Tampa.. Do you have or know of a transfer between the airport and the Royal Caribbean docks ?

We will be doing a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise out of Tampa in early March. And I am wondering what the chances of seeing sea life (whales, dolphins ect. )
I know it won't be like Alaska.. But never know 🙂

Thanks for the responses ..

Do you see many whales or other wildlife from the ship while sailing ? Or do we need to book an excursion to see anything ?

Thank you notamermaid. I did briefly go into the website that you noted. I did not find any specific info on all Illumination Cruises but their website did give links to 3 companies offering private tours during the day and night so I guess the gov't has lifted their ban on the Illumination Cruises. From what I understand Ama is no longer offering their Illumination Cruise so we will have to look into a private tour if we want to see the lights from the water.
Thank you for your help

I was on the Romantic Danube cruise at Oct. 2019.. and we didn't do the Illumination cruise.. AMA has stopped it .. But there are private boats that still do it ..if you want to see it ..

Now we just have to wait until Dec. 1st for our next cruise ...a 13 day ocean cruise to southern Caribbean on NCL Bliss.. 🙂

Yesterday we got home from our cruise on the Romantic AMAWaterways Danube river cruise from Vilshofen to Budapest . No ship changes, no busing .. the only hold up was a glitch in one of the locks. No big deal since we were just sailing and between ports. I can't say Anything bad about AMAWaterways .. they were amazing .. we are going to plan another river cruise .. The food was wonderful, the wine flowed and we were there for Oktoberfest ..so beer, sausages, and pretzels .. AMALEA had such a great staff. 100% waited on us hand and foot ..

I wish I had one for Austria and Hungary! In Germany we never will but Austria if I remember correctly and definitely Budapest closed the river last year at some point. But bear in mind that the situation last year was far worse than it is now. As I have indicated in a previous post to you starting the cruise in Vilshofen is in your favour as you definitely need not go through Pfelling.
Have a great time, Budapest is a delight. And before I get into trouble with G.M.T. - Passau is lovely, too.

Thank You ..with only 24 hrs until we start our flight over to Europe .. We are sure getting excited .. It will all be new to both of us 🙂.

I am wondering if there a magic water level number on the Danbue from Vilshofen thru Budapest.. that will keep us sailing and not make it a bus trip ? I have been keeping my eye on the weather for this week .. and I see a chance of light rain every day . 20 % - 60 % .. so I guess we can hope that we won't have to keep packing and unpacking ..

Pfelling gauge this morning has not changed that much, a few centimetres down, now at 283cm. Minimal change for the better by this evening possible. The trend is for rising levels which means we could see a figure a little above 290cm tomorrow.
The latest low water report by the German authorities is out and shows that both the young Danube up to Ingolstadt and the section from Ingolstadt to Achleiten (that is the first river level gauge in Austria) have had only two thirds and three quarters, respectively, of rainfall in the last 30 days of what the average is for this time of year.
The experts expect the grey and wet weather to persist into next week which could result in the situation getting moderately better. I hope they are right.

I hope you are right .. We will be on the AMALEA from Vilshofen to Budapest on the Oct.4th ( 7 days to go )
coffee makers in cabin ..

We had a small single cup coffee maker in our NCL Bliss room.. can anyone tell me any other cruise lines that have one in their cabins.. I generally wake up very early ( 4-5 am ) and I like to make coffee and sit on the balcony. and really don't want to wake the wife by changing clothes and leaving the cabin.
