but we are spoiled with "real" italian food here in Boston.

courtyard yes, room no unless you pay for it.

you can get 2 drinks at a time each so we bring 2 back to room.  one is usually gone by the time we get there and then we drink the second one in our room lol.

we enjoyed immensely teh trip to Tulum while in Cozumel.

we also love the waterpark at Costa Maya.

here's how i see it.  kids have gotten worse in terms of their behavior and parents seem oblivious.  i couldnt tell you the last time i saw a parent sacrifice their meal/good time and take their child out of the restaurant when they are acting up.  there is zero teaching of good behavior anymore.  or the simple solution is plunk them in front a a device.  sure it keeps the kid quiet, but it doesnt teach them how to behave at the dinner table. what happens when the device isnt available?  same thing with stores.  i see kids have fits in stores and in my day parents would abandon their cart and leave the store.  now they just continue shopping somehow tuning the kid out.  its crazy.

for us, we enjoy teppanyaki as it is the only shared dining experience.  You have a table of 8 people.  if 4 of those people were a family with 2 toddlers they would most liekly all be seated on the long part of the table with a couple then at each end of the table.  this means little to no adult socialization.  Kids may like the show for a bit.  The show is also noisy.  Also ive seen chefs "tone down" some of the action when there are little ones at the table - god forbid a knife or spatula goes flying and hits a kid.  

when i do see well behaved kids i actually take time to compliment the parents.  sadly, this is a rare occurrence.

i personally think that's too close.

we flew home from CPH on a Sunday, using NCL's shuttle.  as a PP said, the luggage goes before you, it takes FOREVER to get off the shuttle, wander around for your luggage (our 4 pieces were not together either) and then when we got in the airport was a zoo and the conveyor belts were down so lines were at a standstill because they couldnt check baggage.  granted, that piece was a one-off thing, but id never book that early.

we had a balcony-less SJ suite on Star and would book it again in a heartbeat.  we dont use the balcony much, we do like it for air at night.  But if you are going somewhere superwarm (as we were, panama canal) you'll run the AC at night anyway. 

anyone know of a tour provider that would take us maybe to the everglades then end at the airport?  We dock at 7am with a 430pm flight.  going to the beach or shopping is not of interest to us, and we've done KSC in the past.

wowza that would make me paranoid my entire cruise.  you can probably do it assuming all is on time and you are lined up in the stairwells (against their request) and ready to get off teh ship.

i hope this teacher doesnt teach reading comprehension.

copenhagen is a gorgeous city!   i highly recommend Hotel Bethel.  Its clean, has a great breakfast, affordable and right on teh canal in Nyhavn.

We arrive back at port at 7am.  We had a flight booked for 1230pm and Delta just changed it to depart at 430pm.

What are some good options for tours we could do with luggage in/around Orlando?  We've done KSC and do not desire going to a beach.  We are also doing Disney for 6 days before we leave on this cruise so that's out too.

We really dont want to go to the airport that early but we understand we may have to.  

I have a feeling we'll be fullfahrt to cozumel.

 If evacuations are starting i assume traffic tomorrow morning from MIA to the Port will not be bad as everyone will be going opposite direction?

If they move up our sail time do they still enforce being on board 2 hours prior?  I land at 915am (carry on) so assuming all is ontime i hope to be at port by 10 or 1030.  A noon sail time wont give me 2 hours.

I know right!  im bummed abotu Key West as ive never been there.  and i do enjoy GSC but that's always a crap shoot.  Nassau and Freeport blech.

my prediction is a western caribbean itinerary with a moved up departure (2 or 3 pm vs. 5pm).

crazy!  the good thing is we should be on board and sailing away from it when the worst hits.  i feel bad for the folks with sunday disembark/embarks.

not for me, but my retirement plan is to do a 6 month around the world cruise.  i love being on board.

that said i will say on the 14 day sail we did we felt really bloaty and full from the food, booze, desalinized water by about day 10.  next time we do an over 7 day sail we will eat differently starting at day 1.

we havent really seen anything wildly out of line.  and honestly people that are tehre to get drunk will do it whether the booze is free or not.

as for children picking up unfinished drinks, i have seen and heard about this but that's a parent problem not an NCL problem.

i was going to book a hotel room at the airport for saturday night just to be safe but all of the ones ive looked at have a 2 day cancellation frame which doesnt help.  im fairly confident based on the storm track ill get to miami ok... ill just have to wing it!

i had to go there the night before disembark to pick up a six pack of specialty local beer id bought in port.  i was in and out, showed my ticket adn got my bag and was on my way.  never had to go at the start of a cruise because i dont pack anything contraband that may result in me having to go there.

so if they close the Port, is it totally closed or are ships just not allowed to leave?  meaning, would we still be able to board the ship and just stay in port overnight until the storm passes?

im on this sail as well and it is indeed five nights.

we wont be rerouted, Dorian is supposed to hit PR on Friday.  we'll be fine especially given our first stop is key west.

i believe they have done away with the free chips and salsa and fruit upon arrival as well which stinks.

i have one rented for my september sail ill find out then i guess!
