  1. My friend is severely disabled by MS. He lives in a care facility and uses an electric wheelchair. He needs full time care. He would like to take his children and grandchildren on a cruise, probably to Alaska as that is closest to home. My question concerns the disabled cabins. What kind of equipment is or can be put in them? Are there or can there be lifts? He would be accompanied by a caregiver. Any information is welcome.

  2. This is a good point, because it seems they really push you to use the OBC immediately. Some have een gone so far as to say that you cannot get the OBC on the future cruise.

That happened to us on the Allure TA in Oct/Nov this year. We booked next year's Brilliance TA on the second to last day of the cruise and he insisted that we had to take the OBC immediately. We cashed out at the casino.

  3. We were on Allure at the beginning of November and had some OBC left at the end of our cruise. This was OBC that RCI had given us as an incentive. We were able to cash it out at the casino. It was very easy, we went to the cashier and told him that we wanted to take out the remaining OBC. He didn't bar an eye

  4. Surfs Up!

Early this morning before the ship slowed down it was too dark to get decent photos of the waves in the pool sloshing over the sides and ends.

Later on when it was light enough to take some decent photos the ship had slowed down and the size of the waves is now much smaller.

When we were on the Allure on a TA last month, the Seas were pretty rough once we hit the Atlantic. At one point one of the pools totally emptied itself on a woman sitting minding her own business in Central Park! A shock no doubt! After that they emptied all the pools for a couple of days.

  5. My husband and I have difficulty walking for any fairly long period of time. Would you recommend Alhambra to us, as well?

I went to the Alhambra about 8 weeks after having had a total hip replacement. I was using a cane by then. I was able to do the tour of the palace itself but not the gardens. It was well worth doing. I was 66 then.

  6. Tomorrow is the last day of a 12 day transatlantic cruise and in spite of having a glass of wine with dinner every night I am deep in ketosis. Lots of good choices on board and there is always sugar free ice cream if nothing else! Also, look for the sugar free chocolate panna cotta - to die for!! First night dessert in the MDR on our cruise.

  7. Nata is cooking cream, very heavy unsweetened and available in Spain. My cruise left from Barcelona which is why I was able to pick it up. I am also on a low carb diet. On the cruise we had little creamers from a Scandinavian country, don't know which. I think it was heavier than half and half but not like whipping cream. My Nata lasted until about day 6 in the room cooler.
