Thanks the replies - we're newbies on NCL and not sure what's what. It will be nice to eat out!

Can anyone tell me if there is a place (or places) to eat outside on the NCL Jade? We are sailing in April and I love to eat al fresco at sea! Although, maybe it will be too cold. Thanks

Thank you so much! That's exactly the information I was looking for but unable to find. I can't wait for the trip :D

My DH and I will be sailing from Rome on 2 April this year. It will be our first cruise with NCL. Last year we sailed with RCI and were able to purchase a wine package where we paid a certain amount to purchase our choice of 7 bottles of wine. I've been searching NCL web site and here but cannot find anything about a wine package. Do we have to purchase individual bottles? Can we bring wine on board? Thanks for your help

Thanks for your review - I'm looking forward to reading the rest of it. My DH and I will be on the Jade in April, so looking forward to it!

Our first cruise ever was to Alaska - beautiful cruise, with Princess. We were on a ship shore excursion which involved riding in a beat up old school bus to a site past the municipal dump (tip for those of you from the UK) and into the woods. We were appropriately dressed with jeans and jackets. It was cold, rainy, and we were on a school bus headed for an outdoor barbeque. The lady in front of me commented very loudly that, 'the tone of these cruises is going lower all the time - they let anyone on the ships'. Her husband - who was in the seat behind me said, "try not to be more of an a$$ than you need to be'. It was hilarious and we certainly didn't let that ruin our trip!

Your pictures are wonderful! We will be on this cruise in April - so looking forward to your review. So far so great!! Thanks:)

Hi,
We cruised around New Zealand in February this year and did a tour with Jim Archer Tours in Tauranga. The tour was a small group - there were about 8 of us. Jim was a fantastic tour guide and the tour was magnificent. He was at the ship on time, took us to see so many wonderful places that our day was very full and satisfying. His web page indicates that he also does tours of Auckland and I have absolutely no problem highly recommending Jim. Check Trip Advisor, you'll see that I'm not the only one! You can see his web page here http://www.archertours.co.nz/Tours-NZ/Cruise-Ship-Shore-Excursions. Have a wonderful trip

On our cruise in February from Sydney to Perth, we hit some rough water in the Australian Bight. The bigger pools were closed but the Solarium pool was open for morning aqua exercises. I was really enjoying the extra waves sloshing us around the pool and after the exercises were over, I stayed (alone) in the pool to just hang out and enjoy the motion. It was a lot of fun but I felt nauseous for the rest of the day!

Kikki, thank you very much for an informative and generous review. I really enjoyed it and now am really looking forward to our cruise on the Jade next April. Thanks again and happy sailing!

Thank you for your beautiful and informative review. DH and I are going on this cruise next April and it's wonderful to get such a good idea of where we're going. Do you happen to remember the names of the tour companies you hired?

On Voyager of the Seas this Feb, we were in the Tasman Sea on our way to New Zealand. The pools - except for the Solarium pool - were closed and water was splashing all over the deck. Morning exercises in the Solarium pool were a lot of fun, a lot like being in a wave pool. That morning, I stayed in the pool after the exercises and just floated - letting myself be carried away by the motion. It was so much fun but I felt sick for the rest of the day!

I would like to add my vote to the Jim Archer supporters. We went on a tour at Tauranga with Jim a couple of weeks ago and it was brilliant. He was a wonderful tour guide and highly recommend him. You will not be disappointed.

I assume this will be your first time on the Voyager?
Have you sailed with Royal Caribbean before?
I don't think I saw your response when you posted it. It will be our first time on Voyager and our first with RCI. We have only cruised once, to Alaska in 2001 - that was a long time ago! It's getting closer and closer and I cannot wait. I am actually re-reading your review!:)

Thanks for your wonderful and generous review! We are on the VOS from Sydney to Perth in February and your review was beautiful. Thanks and happy travels to you and your family.

Hi, no we haven't sailed with RC before - we've only had one cruise and that was to Alaska on 9/16! It was with Princess and we loved it, even though there were lots of empty cabins due to the 'no fly' time that happened right after 9/11. Really looking forward to this one!
-
I'm loving your review - thanks! We're going on the Voyager in a couple of months and this review is deeply satisfying!

We stayed in a JS. It had a kettle as well as coffee machine.
I read elsewhere that balcony staterooms and below have a kettle but no coffee machine. But I can't confirm this.
Thanks!
-
Thanks for the great review. Can you tell me if there are coffee machines or kettles in the staterooms? Thanks!

Thanks for doing this David - Merry Christmas!

Can't wait to see more - we're sailing on the VOS from Sydney to Perth in February. So excited!!
Coffee makers in cabin?
in Norwegian Cruise Line

We were recently on NCL Jade in a balcony cabin. Coffee maker was provided, although the coffee was terrible. We did find - however - that there is an actual real espresso machine in the Garden Café, which dispenses both caffeinated and decaf espresso. Warmed milk was nearby in the morning. That was a great find!!
