  1. If you have never bento Morocco then it is a life experience. The crossing can be a bit rough as others have said but the weather is usually really warm even in mind winter.

We have been in several times and now done most of the tours.

    1. Targa mound with the tree climbing goats is interesting but you do get hassled in the bazaar and at the Argon oil factory you go to.

    2. There is a tour to the centre of the town and the souk. There are some interesting goods on sale but you have to bargain hard ( and in French if you want a really good price). Wear closed in shoes as the floors in the market are filthy with bit of decaying vegetable etc. you also go up to the Kazba and get hassled to buy trinkets.

    3. If it is available the camel ride round the palace gardens and to the bird sanctuary is really interesting but you do need to be fairly fit as you are on a camel for hours.

We once went by taxi and I felt dreadfully uncomfortable as on the way home we got taken via a carpet store we did not ask to see. A firm no got us back to the ship but never again.

If you do go in dress modestly, take small denomination euros or dollars, wear closed shoes and if at all possible avoid the toilets (if you really need to go then take your own supply of paper and sanitising gel).

As I say it is something you will not forget but go prepared.

  2. It has been interesting to read views on the percieved / actual alteration in dress standards recently since Cunard introduced the new rules.

I like to dress up in the evening and it does not bother me what other people do. Live and let live as long as people broadly conform to the rules. (I do like to be smart but comfortable during the day).

How do others feel. Do you think there is such a thing as passengers being overdressed on the non formal evenings or indeed during the day and is that as bad as being underdressed?

    Thoughts on a post card.:)

  3. This has been a really interesting thread.

Someone from Cunard marketing should be paying attention as the majority view (all be it over a very small sample of guests) is the PG is better value as you get the same quality and service (unless you feel the need for a slightly larger cabin)

I must admit that I have always enjoyed PG and only booked QG for the next cruise as the price was right and I was curious to see what was different. It appears that what I will get extra is

    Larger suite

Butler (had before on other lines and mixed "value" depending on the individual)

    Complimentary bar

    Wider choice of menu (perhaps)

On that basis Pg is defiantly a sensible choice however I will reserve judgment until I have tried QG.

For the sake of balance is no one who can sell the benefits of QG. What are the little extra touches? Cunard marketing - any comments?

  4. Ship Eclipse

    Cabin 1629

    Deck 11

    Area aft

Bed near tha bathroom away from patio door

    Quiet yes

    Balcony size standard

    Wind problem? No

    Soot problem? No

    Problems / comments

This has to be one of the better Aqua class cabins on Eclipse as it is in a nice quiet area, close to the central lifts and is not shaded too badly by the overhang.

There is a big supporting pole which comes down diagonally from the overhang to the right hand side of the balcony, this is a feature of every second cabin and won't affect most people. It did affect our neighbours who had booked 2 cabins next door to each other and wanted to open up the partition between their balconies but had the pole between them and while the partition was opened they had to step over the pole which meant a 2foot step over the angle. Just a note for those who might want a similar arrangement to check this out in advance.
