  1. cashmeremypuppydog!! Thank you for all your information!! Did you write a blog that you can share? I saw your post on the Feb 2/21 Cpt to Singapore Oceania roll call to read your posts here!! Thank you for doing that! I am going to write you as I have so many questions. Lauren
  2. It probably depends if you are in your room a lot. If you are only there to sleep and you are out and about most of the day, it would not be a problem. But if you like to be in your room a lot, have naps in your room etc. you might hear the chairs being moved a bit. And if you are the type of people that don't like any noise do not have your cabin below the pool deck. JMO
  3. We also like sea days but only if we are busy sightseeing on our other days while we are on a cruise.
  4. Hehe!! Well maybe😉. Six sea days in a row - that is boring.
  5. Hi All. I just thought I would add my 2 cents!! We were on Sirena March 8th and the first two days were extremely rocky. The next two days we stopped at Martinque and St Lucia (I think). The rest of our 10 day cruise was "suspended" according to what Oceania said in a letter that was left in our cabin. We never felt like we were in an extreme or horrendous situation while on board. It was boring be sure but me and my husband never felt like Oceania was hiding anything - we in fact felt they were upfront letting us know that the cruise was being suspended. The only thing we wish that Oceania had done was let us know while we were on board that they were giving us 50% FCC. We were very satisfied how clean they kept the ship!! They were constantly cleaning!! AND no one as far as we knew was sick. If you like a lot of sea days you would have loved this cruise!! For us it was boring!
  6. I don't understand why the American that comes into Canada cannot bring up their groceries. My sister has lived in the United States for over 40 years and she does it all the time. She is not bringing up liquor though - just groceries. She always lets Customs knows what she is bringing - never a problem and never has had to pay duty. At this time, American's I pretty sure cannot travel up to Canada just for pleasure purposes. However, my husband's good friend's adult child, lives in the USA and comes back and forth through the border to his job that is in Canada and he can do that without a problem.
  7. In British Columbia - Home Depot has been open the whole time not just curb side pickup. I know this for a fact.
  8. JMHO - I will be on board with my numerous face masks and gloves and isopropyl. I cruise for itinearies and people and not for food, entertainment. I will need a vaccine to get on board though.
  9. I am pretty sure I read that the Seattle Port is also closed until July 1st.
  10. cruisingxpert Yes it is the first one - I am a long way from doing a live report. I love reading them all though! Thanks for noticing!! Hehe!! Lauren
  11. Yay! I did it! Easter Island and the Marina.
  12. FetaCheese Thanks for your help.
  13. LHT28 - Thanks for the great idea. For some it might be common sense but for me, who is computer lagging - a great idea!!
  14. Thanks everyone for all the help. CC does not seem to be working all that well lately!! I only get sporadic notifications if I comment on something. And I had pressed the button "Notify Me of Replies". I was just looking around on CC and notice there were more replies to my question. And while I am complaining (LOL!) I wish they could fix the Roll Calls - you have to search through the whole Sirena roll call to find yours each and every time. I wonder why they changed that - not very good - in my humble opinion!! Again thanks for all the help!!
  15. Thanks ORV!! That is what I wanted to hear!! Those gratuities will be paid !! Yippee!! Thanks again!!
  16. Hi LHT28 No I am not taking any other cruise as part of the 30 day South African cruise. The 30 day South African cruise would put me to my 10th cruise level. All other cruises up to that point would put me at the 8th level. The 30 day South African cruise would give me the 9th and then the 10th level during that cruse I just wanted to make sure while I am on that 30 day South African cruise my gratuities will be covered by my Silver Level which I would reach while on that cruise. I would be at the 9th and then the l0th level - giving me the Silver level while on that 30 day South Africa cruise. Thanks you for your help, I really do appreciate it!
  17. Flatbush Flyer - So I would be at Bronze level before my 30 day South African cruise. So my 30 Day South African cruise would put me to silver level. I can't seem to say it clearly - sorry!! Okay to be blunt I have as follows taken: one - 19 day, one 29 day, one 10 day, one 18 day, one 10 day, one 7 day, one 14 day and then my 30 day cruise. So these cruises put me at the Silver level during the 30 day cruise. - I am really sorry for being a silly!! Thank you for your help!!
  18. I researched but could not seem to find this information on the loyalty program with Oceania. I thought for sure I saw it at one time but was not able to find it now. My question is if I am on my 10th point while on a cruise do I move to that 10th point level - being silver membership level? Or do I stay at the Bronze Level and then on my next cruise I move to the silver level? Sorry if I am not being clear. Thanks for the help!
  19. We had booked two cruises about 11 months out that were back to back - Chile to Papeete 18 day and Papeete to Papeete 10 day (January 2019). We wanted a ocean view and the first cruise in that category had all been booked so we took the guarantee and we ended up with a balcony. We never knew our cabin number until we boarded the ship. The second cruise we were able to get the cabin we wanted . We obviously had to move cabins after the first cruise - but our cabin steward did this for us. We had to pack everything up but it was no big deal.
  20. FROM DAVID THE WONDERER "Sigh .. what was I thinking? In terms of sea day activities, I had a poor experience with a TA on Riviera and reported on it. The report included the fact that I didn't think it was typical, and ascribed it to an incompetent cruise director. But the venom directed at my post, ranging from ad hominem attacks along the lines of "you obviously didn't really experience what you experienced" to "how dare you criticise Oceania" were a reminder of why all over Cruise Critic the Oceania board is well-known to be the most toxic of the them all.The good news for people considering a cruise is that those people on this board are not representative of the passengers on the actual ships, who are typically social, well-traveled, and a pleasure to be around." David the Wonderer - WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Are people not allowed to have opinions and does everyone always have to agree. People can state their opinions and be respectful. No one on this board is "toxic" as you call it.
  21. CC needs to fix the roll call. I posted our Marina - September 2020 cruise to the Baltic countries and you have to go searching for it. I have asked CC I think twice could they put the roll call properly in to the roll call and not where everyone is making comments. They have not done it yet. I think it has been five months now. This could be the problem - people can't find their roll calls!
  22. We have taken 5 Oceania cruises and enjoyed them all. The most important things to us is the itinerary, staff and the people we have met on board. I enjoy good food which sometimes I feel even when not cruising is best served at my house. Hehe! The food in the grand dining room I feel is pretty good - definitely not 3 star. The specialty restaurants I would say are better. I am really annoyed that in the main dining room they now serve sirloin steak and not striploin. Who wants to eat that. The buffet has a very good selection every day. I think the ice cream in the buffet could be ice cream and not ice milk. When we were on our B2B cruises in January, Chile to Papeete and a 10 day Papeete to Papeete - there was definitely a different vibe on board. The band on board up in Horizons was fabulous, I think they were from Brazil. We don't normally dance but we did on that cruise. We never go to the shows at night so that is not at all important to us. All the specialty restaurants were full on the 10 day cruises so if you wanted any extra dining reservations you could only get 9pm dining. All in all Oceania is a good choice for us. We feel we are well cared for when cruising with Oceania. We typically cruise in an oceanview or balcony and have never felt that we were treated any differently than anyone else. Just thought I would add my two cents.
