  1. Yes, I would suggest paying for as much (US based expenses) as you can now.:D

I think i only have car hire left!

I haven't paid for my cruise in full, but it was in AUD & from a Aussie TA so don't think they can up the price on that!

....spending money I am planning to use my 28Degrees card which would give me the best rate on the day (although looking like it may be low to mid 80's!) but i'll then have an extra 30 days to pay if off ;) I know i will be dealing with the reprecussions later :o

  2. Found this...

Fly to Seattle and stay 2 nights pre cruise before embarking the 4* Rhapsody of the Seas visiting the Alaska Inside Passage, Juneau, Skagway, Tracy Arm Fjord and Victoria before disembarking in Seattle and flying home. 21st August 2013

    11 nights - from $2899pp inside

    Includes 2 nights in Seattle!!

Wow all above and airfares included.....

I know that we are unable to name agents, but how did you come across this offer? I have googled variations of the keys words above but with no results :/

  3. It rates as no. 1 on trip adivsor & plenty onthese boards, may be worth a quick search. They are very popular so you may want to ask if they have availability first as they can book up upto 1 yr in advance.

  4. Hi Gambee,

I have what may be a silly question for you re your photogrpahy. I have recently purchased a camear & will be taking a short course soon, but... with your images, it is a matter of knowing which mode to select for them to come outt he way they are OR do you take a pic & then play around with editing software? IF so, which do you use?

Many thanks again for your time & the review!

  5. The port calls are kinda quiet here! Can you tell me which sites have better ports of call forums? I have some questions abt St. Martin etc that have not been answered!

Often the cruise line board (eg Celebrity) is more helpful, especialyl if you state that you have tried these boards but have not received an answer. Otherwise, head over to Trip Advisor, i believe it's CC's sister site..

    Have fun!

  6. I agree breakfast for us is surely a challenge everywhere you go. Even at home I mostly eat leftovers from the night before.

We started our day with mostly meat/vegetables and lots of fruit that we pre-ordered. I did try the bacon with no side affects but I am still not sure about that one. I eat gluten free bacon when I am home. Some days I ate "only oats" with almond milk which I carried on board. Also, I brought on several almond yogurts, Larabars and earth balance. I found small packettes of almond butter and coconut oil at the whole foods store too.

The vegan deserts were minimal but tasted wonderful. I think we had maybe 3 different ones, chocolate mousse, apple crisp and I can't remember the other. I would have had the chocolate mouse everynight. :D We suggested they use coconut milk as the main substitute and that made the difference. On the reflection we did ask them to make us desert as well. It was always a surprise!

Thank you so much for replying! I truly hate breakfast. But i love desserts :)

We are sailing on the Summit & have access to Blu, so hopefully they will take care of me. The ultimate dream? Raw desserts ...mmmm!!

  7. I am loving all of the positive feedback since I started this post. In time, I am confident cruising is going to be the best place for those of us with allergies. Now if we could just get the all inclusives and hometown restaurants to do the same.:)

    Hello,

I too am unable to eat gluten, diary & egg - i was wondering what options you had for brekkie - i find that is the most difficult meal to be accomodated for.

And vegan desserts..mmm... did you have to pre-order these or are they available each night?

  8. I wonder if the cruise ships will scale back. They scaled back on Mexican ports when it became sketchy. No one will want to go there if there are reports of them attacking cruise ship tour buses. The only reason to go there is to see the pitons, which really are not that terrific anyway. Other than that st lucia offers nothing beyond what any other Caribbean island offers..

    I think that's a little much -

I'm currently looking into St Lucia & cannot decide on what to do because there is so much on offer.

Eliminating St Lucia as a cruise port will reduce the tourism on the island & increase poverty & related crime.

What we should all take away from this is that crime can really happen anywhere, anytime, even on holidays. being aware is key, & if you can't afford to lose it, don't take it.

  9. Yes, the $65includes entrance, all you can drink, lunch and snacks, pools, lazy river, activities, etc. - no motorized watersports (although the watersports guys don't really know who's who, you could try). They do have a lovely spa where you can book a massage. good option for a lazy - no kids day (adults only)

Thank you - now I'm tossing up between this place & Ti Kaye... i noticed that Ti kaye only include 2 x non alcoholic drinks.. does the above inlcude alcoholic?

I will enquire about massage pricing..

Is there snorkelling by this beach?

And lastly.... can you actually see the Ptions from the cruise ship? (stationary, coming in / or out?)

    So many decisions!

  10. Yes, I will be sure to do that.

I never inquired as to a group rate.

They are picking us up at 8:30 am, drop off around 3:30.

Not sure about the pitons, but I think they are quite a bit further so the transfer will not go by by that area.

The best I am hoping for is a glimpse of the Pitons from the ship as we sail in or out.

    Thanks a million!!

Other questions I have if you happen to remember whilst enjoying it all...

How far is the boat ride from cruise port to resort?

Can you indeed see the Pitons form the cruise?

What kind of food is offered for lunch?

Any info re the massage package

    or the diving package...

Many thanks & i hope you have a great trip!

  11. We are doing the day pass at Ti Kaye through Island Divers (based at the resort). It is $75 pp including transportation and lunch. Since we were most interested in great snorkeling and a comfortable place to spend the day, we opted out of experiencing Jalousie Beach. A few other people on our roll call are doing the same, so hopefully we'll have a few reports upon return.

A report would be amazing! Were you able to get a group rate or anything of the sort?

What time do they pick you up / drop you off?

I'm trying to find out if there is any way they can show you the Pitons - either on the transfer to / from the resort or when people go out diving...

I have also emailed them, so hoping they get back to me.

  12. As of today, there are 160 reviews of Spencer's tours on Tripadvisor. 17 of those rate him as average, poor or terrible. So, approximately one out of ten customers feel his excursions are not above par. That, along with the reports of the beach itself helped us to decide to look for something else. Everyone needs to decide what your priorities are and go with realistic expectations. Hopefully you'll be in the 90% who will have a good or excellent day! :D

This worries me also - what did you decide to do instead?

  13. I am writing from Rendezvous right now. It is quite lovely! They have free wi-fi too. We spent the morning on the beach. Found 2 chairs under a palm tree. All the chairs under umbrellas were taken. We paid $10 for a cab to get here although we probably could have walked if we had worn tennis shoes rather than flip flops. When we arrived we were escorted to a little office to pay the $65 per person day pass fee. The nice lady showed us around. The lunch was a nice buffet: salads, cold cuts, fish, chicken and fruits. There was wine available as well. This afternoon we have moved to the pool area. Plenty of spots open both in the shade and in the sun. There is a nice swim up bar. We bumped into some fellow cruisers on the beach from England who said they were threatened and harassed down the beach. I was glad we chose a place to go and settle in for the day. I would definitely come here again.

    Thanks for the write up!

The entry fee, that includes lunch + drinks? Are there any water sports or possibility of having a massage?
