Does anyone know how to book an Alcove at Lawn Club on the Silhouette. Can’t see anything on my planner.

does anyone know how much it is and when you can book?

@minnie29 you should see it in the Speciality Dining section of the cruise planner. They are under The Alcoves - At sea from £176.79 GBP adult and The Alcoves - At port from £70.29 GBP adult . However, despite how it is worded I seem to remember this was the total (net of tax etc) for the cabana not per guest. The prices may vary for the different sailings.

It’s breakfast served in the Tuscan grill.  Had it a couple of days on our last cruise on the Silhouette and it was excellent - a nice change from Luminae which had a rather noisy and badly behaved child there most mornings 😂 I believe it is being served on the ship currently - I’m sure someone mentioned it.

I have heard via another group that it is being served as usual. The + was a bit misleading as I meant Elite upwards..completely forgot that Elite plus was a thing as it’s still a good few cruises away for us to get to ‘plus’ status, but we’ve been around long enough to make it to Elite over several years. It’s one of the few ‘perks’ we make use of, along with the scoop of ice cream that you get at the Classic level onwards 😀

Just been looking at the Health & Safety protocols for Southampton cruises which were updated yesterday 07/07/21.

It states you need proof of residency, which I am assuming is a passport/ driving licence, but it doesn’t state what.

‘For more information, click here,’ takes you through to a Gov.UK web site, which looks as thought it’s for residency application. They require Bank statements, bills etc ( all banking done on line now, since the pandemic). Vey confusing.
I have rung our TA, who of course is out of the office, so I have also emailed her.

I will update with a reply.

@upwardUK unless I've missed something I do not think they are asking everyone for proof of residency:

"Guests who have had their vaccinations administered in countries outside of the UK, will need to bring proof of their vaccinations along with proof of residency in the UK."

so it looks like it's only related to how people can prove vaccination status and eligibility to reside in the UK if they had their jabs elsewhere.

They phoned my friend and told her there was a problem with her and her husband's.  She asked if mine was ok and they said no it was the same.  They didn't actually call me so I got the number off my friend and called them.  I told the guy on the phone about not having the QR codes scanned and it seemed to be an 'oh right' moment as if ' oh that explains it' kind of thing, but maybe that's just me reading that into it.

Thank you again, it gives me something to look out for to maximise the chances of a successful visit.

I think but don't know for sure that the problem might be that they didn't scan our QR codes.

They told us today that they couldn't match our appointment to the barcodes on the test.

I went with my 2 friends and there was only the 3 of us, so no rushed job.  The 3 people there were very friendy and chatty and seemed as if they knew what they were doing.

@lovetoholiday Thank you! I didn’t want to tag you directly with my question as didn’t want to add to your stress, so appreciate you responding. Did they contact you to let you know it hadn’t gone to plan and you’d need testing at the port, or did you have to chase them?

But the amount of OBC (in $) will be at a 1:1 exchange rate from £ so what would have been £100 equalling (approx) $140, all I will get is $100. OK, not a great difference for solo use of a concierge cabin, but the difference to a family in a suite would be considerable.

@cublet This was not my experience. The amount was quoted in £ and then converted to $ at the current business exchange rate (ish). Once added to my account it then converted back to £ at the same exchange rate I'd locked in when spending my original OBC online. As we won't be spending it prior to the cruise I expect it to switch back to the original $ amount that was quoted on the new invoice. I booked directly with Celebrity this time, not through a TA.

Just had a disappointing call with Celebrity, but others who are not directly in the same situation may benefit

I’d be tempted to call back and speak to another agent. If you hear the same messaging from a second person maybe just very politely ask where that is in the T&Cs. I haven’t seen anything that suggests this would be a blocker for the discount, but they do have fine print all over the place!

We're booked with my son and his family for the 17 July sailing. He had his first vaccination just over 2 weeks ago and can't get a booking for earlier than 30 July, so we're panicking a bit now. If he can't manage to get his second jab before 17 July will Celebrity stop him boarding?

If it helps, on the website, these are the latest conditions for travel : https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/healthy-at-sea/uk-travel-requirements

Thanks for the link. It is strange it has not been updated in 6 months, so I see that is why it remains as Celebrity shore excursions only.

I am interested in this information that seems to be from a US body, but explains restrictions on UK cruises. It also mentions that changes could come at 21st June, which is the next step in our Covid restrictions being relaxed. So I am hoping that there will be a relaxing of the shore excursion policy at the same time. I shall certainly wait until then before making any excursion bookings

Capacity and Gathering Restrictions set for U.K. Domestic Cruises (maritime-executive.com)

It looks like the US website has paraphrased that info from here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-cruise-ship-travel . Not much more info on this page though and ultimately it just links back to the article Bretty found (thank you).

Re the CD, I’ve also read somewhere that it is Dan. He’s definitely on board a Celebrity ship somewhere as he posted a story on a social media site earlier this week....he didn’t say which ship though!

We are also booked on the July 23rd cruise.... desperately trying not to have any preconceptions about what it will be like if it happens, just reminding myself that it’ll be great to be out at sea again whatever rules apply!

  10. The cruises are on the Silhouette and it’s been slightly complicated by ports changing because of the work taking place in Port Everglades. The first cruise now uses Miami. Second is still Port Everglades but with a later than normal departure time. We’ve had varying reports on whether we’ll be able to stay on the ship as it repositions but as long as Celebrity move us between the two ports somehow I’m not too concerned! Seems like the rest will be reasonably hassle free. Thank you everyone for your replies!

  11. We have booked B2B cruises and are wondering what happens with regards to the second cruise. Will we still need the xpress pass? Do I need to print the second cruise luggage tags? Will we get checked in for both at the start of the first cruise or is there some process that happens on the changeover day? Does the first cruise account get closed off and then new sea passes issued for the second cruise? It’s the same room and same ship for both cruises. We didn’t give any thoughts to the process when we booked it and are now intrigued to know what to expect! Thanks in advance to anyone that can take some time to explain what happens.

  12. I searched the internet and got a few hits on articles released in the past day, relating that Celebrity have added 3 more 2019 Silhouette sailings. There is 12 night Iceland & Fjords, 14 night Scandinavia & Russia and the 14 night Western Med mentioned. Looks like the Celebrity website just hasn’t been updated yet.

  13. Thank you Phoenix_dream & late2crusin. It sounds like a great alternative to the chaos in the buffet. I think I’ll be trying it out on the next cruise.. especially the Bellinis [emoji2]

  14. We checked with our TA before we sailed to see if they'd offer more incentives for us to allow any onboard booking to be transferred to them. They offered us additional OBC which they have since added to our booking. Not sure if they can do anything more if the price falls as we haven't been in that situation.

  15. Hello

We are looking at booking this cabin on the Reflection for a September 2014 sailing. It's a C1 concierge class - our main reason for booking it is that we love to be on the aft. Does anyone have any further information, pictures or advice for us before we book.

Also I know that there are Aqua Spa cabins but we don't want to compromise the aft for these - what are our options for using the spa facilities? Is there an indoor spa pool or Jacuzzi? We absolutely loved NCL Dawn for their spa environment which you could book a pass for to cover the whole cruise and wondered if there was something similar here.

We are completely new to Celebrity so would really welcome any advice whilst I start to read through all the good advice already posted here :)

    Many thanks in advance!!!!

We've stayed in 1696 on the Reflection. It's a great cabin. Obviously a bit of a walk from the stairs and lifts, but lovely and quiet. The balcony is a good size with reclining chairs, footrests and table. The bed is by the window. We enjoyed breakfast looking out over the wake. We loved it and would definitely book the same one again.:)

  16. SHIP: Reflection

    CABIN #: 1696

    DECK #: 11

    CLASS: C1

    AREA: Aft

    BED NEAR: Balcony

    QUIET?: Yes. Very quiet cabin.

    BALCONY VIEW: Directly above wake.

BALCONY SIZE: Slightly larger than normal.

    WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Yes. A little bit in morning.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We were perfectly happy with this cabin and loved the view from the balcony. There was a bit of soot in the morning, but very easy to wipe off chairs and the deck was washed every day. Probably one of the the furthest distances possible from elevator and stairs though so if any concerns about walking, this wouldn't be a good choice.
