Morons - I would have done the same. They should have been kicked off the ship - seriously .
I absolutely agree. I can’t understand why some people don’t seem to understand that the rules are there to keep them and everyone else safe.
-
Hope those who have tested positive were only those who were flouting the safety rules. Unfortunately, I suppose some of them will have been doing all they could to help keep people safe.
-
Hope your test goes well. Pleased you have had a good time despite some thoughtless other cruisers.
Medeba, Gib is great, lovely to walk around, and, of course, the cable car up to the top of the rock.

I don’t understand why some people feel justified by putting others at risk. However, the old saying springs to mind:- “Apathy is rife, but who cares?”

Lisa-UK, when you get onboard, do let the Social Host/Hostess know about your parents Golden Anniversary.

I have a cruise booked for next September so thought I would just log into my account. Guess what? “ Sorry, we are having technical difficulties at the moment.”
I do feel for cruisers going away very soon and trying to get the correct information. -

Is it me, or do some of those US itineraries appear to be a little bit expensive ?
I was thinking the same.

Hi Dmsw.
my mistake on my earlier reply.
On previous cruise holidays people have collected their baggage and jumped into taxis that are outside the airport terminal and made their way to the port, only problem with this is if there are any unforeseen problems on the taxi trip the ship will not wait for you.😳
And, don’t forget, if you do decide to take a taxi, let the cruise rep know. I remember, a few years ago, the coach we were on, waited at the airport for about 30 minutes because some passengers had not informed the rep. A few unhappy bunnies that day.

I’ve done a dummy booking but can’t find a link to book a private transfer from airport to ship. It might be an idea to pop to your local Tui travel agent and see if they can help. Best of luck.

We are really missing our cruises, four a year minimum, but think at the moment far too many hoops for us, as oldies, to jump through hope it will come back but it may be a bit late for us. We may be booking something for 2023 with our vouchers but flying is a definite no no. Good luck to everyone who are booked.
Hear hear. Absolutely agree. I so miss my cruises. As a solo cruiser I enjoyed meeting others, and of course, the wonderful crew. Hopefully, in the next year or so, I will feel comfortable enough to make a booking.

That is what a son in law is for of course. 😉

Have you had a look at passenger assistance for train travel? I have a friend who has used this service several times.

Does anyone know of coach operators that have a Birmingham to Southampton cruise terminal itinerary.? The usual go to coaches (inter cruise ) are not available for the Marella sailings and I can’t find any alternatives.
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried National Express? They may not go to the cruise terminal so you might need a taxi for that last bit.

Excellent review, brought back lovely memories of my last cruise in the Caribbean which ended at the start of the first lockdown.
I, too, am a solo cruiser and only managed to get a balcony cabin a couple of times, on the Dream, which had one solo balcony cabin. Loved the Dream, the layout, to me, was great.
-
Fingers crossed. 🤞

I thought Celebration had already gone.

So sorry to hear this news. The Dream was my favourite, the size, the layout etc. I loved going into Tides in the evening to be serenaded by the lovely Tom and Maris.
Will miss her. -
I can’t see Marella doing any cruises for the rest of this year.

For one moment i thought you going to talk about the (G U T) in Malta say no more.
Before I knew him, my late husband had served in the RN and sometimes mentioned GUT. He reckoned he was was banned from Malta. This was in the 60’s and early 70’s.
He also showed me around Gib and had many stories to tell.
Gibraltar remains one of my favourite places and hope to cruise there again.

I’ve just done a dummy booking and it is still available, but not from all UK airports.
-
Can’t help with the information you need but I’m sure someone will have the answer.

As August is only two months away, I honestly can’t see any cruises going ahead. I think it’s going to be October, possibly November at the earliest. This is only my opinion, might be surprised of course. I am not booking anything until it is completely safe to do so.

Thank you for the this latest information. I am so relieved. I had expected to be on the phone for hours when the email with the offer of the refund credit comes through in a few weeks time. I hope it all goes smoothly for everyone.
