  1. You have to ask porter for orange sticker for luggage.

I cruised out of Port Everglades on the Conquest on June 13th and had FTTF. I asked the porter for the orange sticker and he had no idea. He asked 2 more porter and none of them claimed to have any idea about the orange stickers and said they never heard of it. I tipped him well, so not sure if he was just uninformed.

My bag was at my door right before early seating dinner.

  2. If you are referring to to bamboo, I do not know. If you are referring to the town beach, aka turtle beach it is very close, cheap, clean. See my earlier review and maps to get to the beach.

    Thank you.

The last time I was in Ocho Rios in February. I thought we were going to Montego Bay during that cruise (have been to MB before) and didn't plan.

We ended up at the beach that faces the ship in Ocho Rios, the one on the opposite side of Margaritaville by Moon Palace that has a $3 dollar cover ( or a similar amount). I found the beach to have sludge-like mud as I waded in that stuck to my feet after I got out .

I am hoping for a nicer beach this cruise. We leave tomorrow.

  3. Dinner show at the Illusionarium

    Million Dollar Quartet

    Burn the Floor

    Lunch at O'Shehans

Cuban food at the Flamingo Grill buffet

Theme parties at night at the H20

    Waterslides

Ropes course (walking the plank while the ship is underway)

Quick trip up the rock wall

I second Flamingo Grill. The 3 desserts are so fabulous and not to be missed... tres leches cake, cream cheese flan, and rice pudding.

There was a " Dancing with the Stars" type game one night in the Atrium, which paired a passenger volunteer with a staff member and it was hilarious. Sorry I can't remember the name of it!

    Have fun!

  4. Great review so far! We are sailing on the Conquest on the 13th and have purchased FTTF.

We sailed out of Port Everglades in late January on RC's IOS and we ended up waiting hours (3 + hours!) in the sun for a delayed embarkation. I figured it was maybe a one time thing, but it seems like it was not nor was it limited to certain cruise lines.

I live about 10- 15 minutes from the port and that is a main reason for leaving from Port Everglades. Although Miami is a little bit of a longer drive for us, we have never had an issue with delayed boarding on Carnival or NCL at POM.

Looking forward to the rest of your review!

  5. Where is a good spot for a Balcony room on the Breeze? I have heard they got some bad ones. We are now in an inside room thought about doing the balcony upgrade. Thanks for the help.

We have had a Lido balcony on the Breeze and it was awesome.

Last year, we did a Cove on Breeze in cabin 2441 and I would never recommend that cabin to anyone sensitive to noise ( metallic clanging all night long from galley above) or smells ( that balcony smelled like raw sewage all week).

  6. Loved the Flamingo Grill when I sailed GA this past March! I pretty much ate every breakfast and lunch there.

I would always grab a ham and cheese pastelito for breakfast ( delicious flaky pastry with ham and creamy, melted cheese).

Their ropa vieja or chicken with black beans, rice, yuca fries with chimichuri sauce and plantains was my go-to lunch.

The tres leches cake, rice pudding, and cream cheese flan are not to be missed.

I truly would reconsider not booking another trip on GA if there is no Flamingo Grill. It is a unique choice for lunch and so tasty.

  7. I would recommend going away from the Beach close to the dock in the early hours as this can be packed. Check out the Bamboo Blue beach about 7 mins from the dock

    Hi,

Could you tell me how much it cost to get there?

Was there any entrance fee to the beach? Was the water calm?

    Did you feel safe?

Thank you in advance for helping with my questions :)

  8. I am going to follow your link as soon as I post this thank you to you! I appreciate the help. I am so happy to be able to cruise again so soon...well, at least by October. I always love having another cruise planned so I don't feel sorry for myself! Thanks, again.

You're welcome :) Enjoy your cruise!

  9. We just returned from a cruise on the Miracle yesterday, and I got a Bounce Back Offer as well. Since this is my first offer, I am still confused as to how I can find all the offers that are available to me. I went into the VIPF offers, but even when I put in the ports and destinations I might like, things seemed to come in randomly. If anyone can give me some pointers on how to see what the offer can be used for, I would appreciate it very much. Also, excuse my ignorance, but what is a DUO (or is it DOU) card? Thanks!

Congratulations on your bounce back offer! If you go to this page and enter or search for your VIFP number, then hit " show my deals," it should show you your bounce back offer and the sailings it is offered for. I believe you can narrow the results down to desired port or month you want to sail.

It should show you $0 interior for the selected sailing ( and probably very discounted rates for other cabin types) and you can book directly from the website or call Carnival to book with the offer code and sailing you decided on after viewing what is available online.

  10. I was in cabin 2441 this past August on Breeze and the cabin location was right under the galley, which resulted in the metallic clanging and banging noises of pots being dropped or dragged across the floor it sounded like.

It was super noisy and virtually impossible to get a good nights sleep.

In addition, during our cruise, there was an awful smell of raw sewage that came and went ( but mainly stayed) localized directly in our balcony area.

We picked the cabin location at the time of our last minute booking as it was the last balcony left... we could have gone with an interior room, but picked 2441.

The all night noise was present all week and we tried to use ear plugs at night to drown some of the loud annoying, metallic clanging pot noises. The sewage smell was nauseating and prevented us from going out on the balcony or having the balcony door open at all.

Based on our experience in 2441, we would never book another Cove balcony in the future, as we did not experience any issues like the noise or odor in when we stayed on higher balcony floors (Lido) on previous Breeze cruises.

I love the Breeze, it is a great ship and lots of fun. I would sail her again in a heartbeat as long as I was on a higher floor.

  11. My mom got off the Conquest yesterday and received one of those offers as well.

They have quite a nice selection of cruises and dates offered with that bounce back offer code, as well as one on the Vista for a European cruise in October.

I agree with a previous poster in that even if you can only take a short cruise, take it because it is a great deal :)

  12. Definitely the 8 night cruise based on ports alone.

We did that route on the Breeze in November out of Miami and it was amazing! Loved Grand Turk, Curacao, and Aruba... gorgeous beaches!

I was not a big fan of La Romana, but we did get off the ship and take the shuttle to Altos de Chavon, so I can't speak on the beaches there.

Either cruise you pick, I am sure you will have a great time!

  13. I second the idea of Rum Point. It is a lovely beach and well worth the drive.

It is easy and affordable to rent a car with any of the various rental companies online. They can come and pick you up at the port and take you to the car rental agency and will drop you off to the port after you turn it in.

I would suggest lunch at A La Kebab in the Marquee Plaza in Seven Mile Beach if you like gyros or wraps. They are phenomenal and their sauces are amazing. After I moved away from Grand Cayman, I would crave their food for months.

Every time I visit on a cruise stop now, I stop at A La Kebab to have a lamb & beef wrap with veggies, feta, tzatziki sauce (with a side of peanut satay sauce to dip my fries in) for lunch... heavenly :)
