  1. I was on a cruise one time and there was this man in his mid 40s wearing a neck brace and in a wheelchair complaining loudly to guest services that he needed his room upgraded immediately. He had booked a room on the riveria deck, but said he needed one on the empress deck or higher because of his medical conditions. The rep told him they would not be able to accommodate him, and they argued back and forth about this for several minutes. My aunt was with me and kept telling me that they man was faking, and I was scolding her, telling her he probably was in pain. Anyway later on we saw the man at the sail away party, no neck brace , no wheel chair, getting down doing the wobble and cha cha, and bout every dance you could think of. Every time I saw him that cruise I would laugh. I just thought it was funny what some people would do for a freebie.

  2. I have a toddler myself and love kids..have no problem with them onboard. As the spouse of a teacher, I think it's not a good idea to take kids out of school to go on vacation. They get plenty of time off every year and to foresake their education for a cheaper cruise rate seems wrong to me.

I am a former teacher, and I guess I kinda disagree? I think it is more of a personal decision. We are taking all 9 of our kids out of school in October for a cruise (not because of price, but my fiancé's work schedule). Anytime they miss school for anything pre planned, they make up work before we go. So far we have no problems. One just finished school early, graduates in May, and another is on track to be valedictorian. I think it just all depends on the situation, and making sure they don't miss stuff like state tests, etc.

  3. My big concern with this program would be the port days. I can imagine making it worthwhile on sea days, but if I'm off the boat for most of the day, getting to enough in could get interesting. I do have a question about it though? Do you have to buy it the first day, or can you buy it on day 2 or 3, and only pay for the remaining days of the cruise? Not sure I would do that, just curious.

I keep going back and forth about if it would be worth it for my upcoming cruise.... There are only two sea days, and I usually get tired of drinking after a couple of days lol

  4. We are going on the Elation on Feb 7, it is our first cruise. We were wanting to see if anyone on here has experienced the Elation, and what was recommended for things to do on this ship.

I hope you have a great time! I loved the elation! I personally loved the piano bar, water slides, wok, and sailing down the river! So excited for you!

  5. I don't let what people wear to dinner affect me. It is up to Carnival to tell them to change or not. If Carnival does not say anything, not much anyone can do.

I don't let them either. I honestly don't care what people are wearing. True people should follow rules I guess, but if carnival doesn't care, I don't either. My fiancé isn't interested so much in elegant night because he likes wearing jeans, so we will probably skip it all together. He says we are going and he will wear the dress pants, but I don't really care if we go or not. . He would probably try going in with jeans lol, but I am a scaredy cat lol. I wouldn't want them to turn us away lol. I am one though that wears dresses to dinner every night, no matter the occasion.
