Here are the options that should have been offered but were not 1) keep my obc and upgrade to a suite ( i checked they are still available) 2) stay in the same category and double my obc ( not cut it in half like they offered) 3) switch to one room and half the obc (like they offered) but only pay for what I was paying for one room.

has anyone had a similar issue where royal screwed up? Is there a different number I can to get real results. I am justifably upset. I just can not believe they they are not willing to fix a mistake they made. And are trying to make me pay for it. Please help.

    1. Were you willing to pay for the suite?

    2. Why double the OBC, was it per person or per room?

    3. This option would allow all the people in the other room to go for free??.

Nope, you do not need your passport to get off the ship in Nassau.  Been there many times (10+) and there is no requirement for that.  What you need is ships card and ID.  I don't know a single port in the Caribbean that requires a passport to get off or reboard the ship.

My point was if they had a passport they could have taken it off with them. Most of the people I saw in Nov. were using passports.

Never will we be close.   If we do a Royal excursion, it is their responsibility to get us back to ship in time, or the ship waits for the excursion to return before leaving. When we do our own (which has become more frequent), we do morning or early afternoon returns to ship to enjoy the ship before everyone has made it back on board.    Our priority is enjoyment, not stress.

They don't always wait. If they leave you it's their responsibility to get you to the next port.

I am more curious about the star class which includes beverage package, dining package, prepaid gratuities but thank you for your quick response. 🙂

The cabin I have been stalking just jumped 2K during this new “Presidents Day sale” and I have a long time before sailing but I was curious if bidding max may be an option if it includes everything.

It's the same you will get them.

How does that math work? You said in post #8 "We were in a family Jr suite and bid $2500 total, an extra $250 total on the minimum bid for a sky loft suite. But then you say above the minimum bid was $850 which is only $1700.

    $2500 [2 x $1250 pp] minus $1700 [2 x $850 pp minimum bid] = $800 extra above the minimum bid.

The math says you bid $400 per person over the minimum bid...right?.....not $250... ?????

    Am I missing something?

You are correct. I apologize, initially I bid the $250 over then husband added the additional $150.

Did you just get an email from RCI originally that this was available for your cruise ? And how far in advance of your cruise did you get this option?

I got the bid offer Tuesday 2/12 and the email saying it was accepted Friday 2/15, for the April 13 sailing on Anthem of the seas. We bid agressively, hsuband really wanted the room. The minimum bid was $850 we bid $1250 each person.

We have when in the theater before the entertainment. One each for the show and one each to take back to our cabin.

How many bottles can you get with the drink package at one time?

You can get two each time, sometimes they do it automatically if not just ask.

We have always books our cruises directly through Royal Caribbean or at NextCruise.  We've been told if you book through a travel agent or transfer your reservation to a travel agent, you can get extra perks.  Can anyone share if this is the case and what kind of perks can you get by going through a travel agent?

Depending on what the TA is offering you can get OBC, free specialty dinner, champagne or wine in your room, free lunch and/or free gratuities. One thing to be cautious of is when using a TA they own your reservation and RC will not even talk to you about it, they will tell you your TA has to call. The only thing you can do if using a TA is order from cruise planner.

  9. On my next cruise I will be Diamond. I went back and forth with getting a drink package or not. I enjoy trying different drinks and not having to worry about the cost. The time for the free drink on diamond are limiting to me. It doesn't include drinks at the pool or in the evening at events. I decided to purchase it this time and track when and what I drink and will decide for future cruises if I continue to get it.
