We are a family of 4 in a standard balcony cabin on Anthem. I believe the balcony has 2 chairs and a small table. Can we request 2 additional chairs be placed on the balcony for the cruise? If so who do we request this from?
Yes make sure you are absolutely clear on what you want, use pictures if possible. I once requested a lounge chair for our balcony. I got it, but it was a chair from a bar..... You know a lounge.

You must be so excited! That is Great news!
How did the Guarantee assignment turn out?
All my worry and angst was for not, we ended up with Jr Suite 13632. From what I have been told, a great room. Thanks for asking

I asked my TA to contact Royal and have them redo my docs and luggage tags since I was recently assigned my room (we booked a guarantee).
He said he was about to contact me too because he was informed by Royal that we got an additional $50 OBC and free gratuities, a $200+ credit on our credit card and they are now going to honor one free specialty dining for both my husband and myself!!!!!!!! This cruise just got better.

So the only perks you shared with being casino VIP are
1. Casino rates.... Since you already booked this I am going to assume cost wasn't a factor for you.
2. Free drinks in casino. You have a drink package so that's not an issue.
3. Ability to draw money from your sea pass card. Perhaps take double the cash you have spent on other longer cruises and load it on your seapass to play with or just play with the cash. I am not sure how the casino works.
Based on this my opinion would be stick with what you have, it's just one cruise w some nice perks...... The excursion you want, the room you want the entire cruise (less packing and starting over on side to side b2b and less worry of getting same room on Harmony) and free drink package.

I did too. If you hit the anchor in the upper left hand corner it will take you to the old page.

We booked a guarantee at the end of Jan. for a cruise in Mar. I do not understand the process either. I'm alittle anal, read as crazy. I had my TA, a friend who is a TA and I was calling daily because we didn't get an assignment. We all got the same response, there were only two rooms left.....a grand suite and a sky loft suite and everything else was sold out. We got our assignment mid to late Feb. Once again I'm crazy, and those two suites were still available. I still don't understand the guarantee process.

I am curious OP, what specifically did you request for son in the teen center that wasn't provided, does he have special needs? I would also suggest you want the show Mega Foods on Netflix, episode 6. It would appear to me that the small things got you upset and it snowballed from there and turnes small easily rectifiable things, the sofa bed, the Nana split, the carrots for example into a self fullfilling prophecy for you that the cruise was disappointing. When you go looking for problems rather than solutions you will always find them.

Thanks for your input regarding CK...makes me happy that we don’t have to pay such a premium for suites after all....OVB is just right for us:)
Oh I will continue to book jr suites but not because of coastal kitchen. I loved the Jr suite we had on Harmony, the balcony, walking closet, shower and double C&A points were excellent. I also want to try a grand Suite But based on pics I think I wont like it as much as the Jr suite.

I can understand your view. We ate there every night last month on our cruise on Allure OTS though. This was mainly because we love the setting and view and I am vegetarian. Being vegetarian I don't expect wildly interesting food on a cruise. I was happy with the CK. I think if you are staying in a suite and have a wide ranging palate that hitting some of the specialty restaurants makes sense.
Yes, I love the ambiance of it and the view but the food and menu is meh.

Am I the only one who could take or leave coastal kitchen. I could eat there once or twice on a 7 day cruise and that's enough. The menu is just ok to me. Seems like everyone loves it.

Thanks for sharing. This was excellent. I agree, anyone watches this should complainway less about the food. This was way better than the galley tour I paid for. If I had seen this I would not have taken the tour in Dec.

Hi
We have cruised on Anthem several times
If you look in my signature you will see the reviews with pictures
January 2017 - We were in a Junior Suite #8232. It’s one with the large balcony in the vestibule. I also thought the vestibule would be weird, but it didn’t make a difference. The outside door to the vestibule was open the whole trip and you had your own door to your cabin so it’s not a big deal. The layout of the room is very nice and large. The balcony is a great size. I felt storage space a bit lacking but we also over pack. We enjoyed dinner many nights at Coastal Kitchen.
January 2018 - We were in Superior Grand Suite #8634. This review is still in progress but I’ve gotten past the first few days so you can see pictures of the cabin as well as a picture of the email the concierge sent a week before sailing outlining the perks. The cabin is nice, but it’s a little choppy with the wall separating the bedroom from the living room. The perks are very nice so you have to decide if it’s worth it for you. I know some of the perks were already mentioned, but we enjoyed Coastal Kitchen for breakfast and dinner. We didn’t really eat lunch. The suite sun deck was great. We liked the reserved seating for shows. Room service is included and we made use of that after our nights in the casino. We each received free internet. You have access to the Concierge Lounge which not only can you enjoy cocktails there but the concierge can help you if you have any issues rather than having to wait on line at guest services. You get invited to different events for suites as well. We didn’t take attend all these but there were some parties and tours.
Either way I’m sure you will have a great trip - we really enjoy Anthem and have been on it several times as you can see in my signature. I pointed out those two dates above as those were the ones in a Junior Suite and a Grand Suite. The other Anthem trips were in different cabin types.
Happy to answer any questions you may have
Noreen
Thanks Noreen, this will be our second time on the Anthem, first time was a balcony. We had a Jr suite on the Harmony in Dec and loved it we booked the Anthem then for Thanksgiving week in a spa Jr suite. This was a last min cruise for us, booked end of January for sailing Mar. 24th, we did a suite guarantee.
From pictures online, I'm not sure I will like a grand suite for the reasons you said, it looks choppy.
We won't use most of the perks.... He already had internet, I don't want it. We aren't doing any shows, we saw them a year ago. Coastal kitchen would be nice be we can do dinner there and with all the other options that enough.
He was more concerned w the vestibule but not sounds like a no issue.
Thanks

That would be too much money for me to spend for the perks of a GS. The big perks you would get would be access to the Suite Lounge, all meals at Coastal Kitchen, and a free one-device internet package for every guest in the suite. You would have to determine what those perks are worth to you.
The perks aren't worth it at that cost. I was more asking about the deck level changes. I am fine w a Jr suite, told DH I would ask.

It's 7 nights about $1500. DH isn't top fond of the vestibule.

Would you switch from a Jr suite w a huge balcony and vestibule on deck 13 for a mid ship grand suite on deck 6?

Did you get your cabin? I am scared, because I just booked a guarantee on Oasis for July. I wonder if I should call and see about selecting a stateroom now and how much more that would be.
I booked one end of January for March 24 and got my assignment 2/23

We are going Mar. 24. As of right now I will plan on jeans or leggings the first two day and last two days unless I see something dramatically change w the weather. Also, taking a thicker jacket for sail away, I plan on being on the top deck to watch us go under the Verrazanno bridge and I anticipate that to be very cold.

l am receiving emails when I get a notification from cruise critic. Does anyone know how to make it so I don't get emails but still notifications?
Sent from my iPhone using Forums
I completely understand what you are asking but sadly I don't know how to stop it. I want to stop it too. First of all, I get a notification AND an email. More importantly the email is LATE, it comes HOURS and sometimes DAYS AFTER the comment/s are made.

We had 13172 on Anthem which is closer to the front, but didn't find there was much in the line of unusual sounds. Some music drifts over the side during the day but not much at night. Don't forget you aren't under the pool, you actually under Johnny Rockets which is not open late. You'll probably get more noise from people walking up and down the hall to the elevators, but again I've never noticed it to be bad.
Fun fact: If you go all the way to the front of the ship on deck 13 and go through the doors you'll be in the solarium.
Oh, good to know we are under johnny rockets and not the pool deck. Great fun fact too, good to know.
I read on another site that it might have an obstructed view, is that possible on deck 13?
TIA

After we received our cabins assignment (Jr Suite from a category W booking), I didn't like the location and was able to call and switch it to another Jr Suite (I had the one that I wanted and knew was available) and they switched it no questions asked. It might be worth a try if you are worried about the cabin you received.

Thanks they are sold out.

Hi all, afternoon annoying everyone with my frantic and neurotic impatience regarding our W guarantee on the Mar. 24 Anthem of the seas...sorry to all I annoyed ..... We have been assigned a Jr suite..... Room 13632. Its below the pool deck which bases on reports here has me worries and it looks like a small vestibule, never experienced that before... Anyone have the good, the bad and the ugly on this room? Any pics either.
