  1. Now THAT is something to be happy about! It's like instant sunshine - just add winnings ;)

Have you heard anything about the 2 people who were hurt aboard the ship? It was another post about 2 different people getting hurt. Hopefully they're okay.

Have a good rest of the cruise - please have a chocolate croissant for breakfast for me. Being back home and eating special K just isn't the same. Or fair. LOL!!!

I must have gained 10lbs already!!! Sooo much food!! I didn't hear about anyone getting hurt..what happened??

  2. Don't know what the seas are like, however Central Florida has been quite windy today. Feels like March. :)

So sorry GSC was cancelled. I would perfer that to Nassau any day.

The weather was not great today in port canaveral..we had sun for only about 2 hours and then rain and clouds all day.

I am disappointed about GSC but I am not letting ruin my vacation. The ship is amazing- I have no complaints!! Hoping for better weather for the next few days. I will do a complete review early next week...so far not sure what all the complaining and bad reviews are about- but I am not a complainer and to add to my experience, on Sunday night- I hit a $1450.00 jackpot and my husband, within 10 minutes of that, hit for $720.00!! What can I complain about!!

We just docked in Florida so I figured I'd share some pics. So far the cruise has been great.

Nice!! Have a blast! I'm getting on when you get off- AFT balcony - deck 9!!!!

  4. Hi,

we usally just book a clamshell. My DH is taking meds that do not mix well with the sun so to give us both what we want/need we do the clamshell.

We just returned from the Breakaway. We did not do the clamshell since we planned on being on the first tender and found lounge charis in the shade. When I wanted sun -- I found an empty chair on the beach.

We did book a cabana for our Christmas cruise -- mainly because our son and family will be with us. The cabana offers lots of shade and room for the grandkids (5 & 7). That way they can enjoy the island but not annoy other guests. Grandson has some ADHD and can become a handful.

You do get a food/drink voucher and a waiter for your convience.

The island now has 24 cabanas.

There soon will be a tram to access the far end of the island.

I am sailing the breakaway in 2 weeks and have not seen the option to book the clamshell- did you book once onboard? Would I need 2 for me and DH?

  5. My DW and I have always sailed NCL in a suite, mostly aft penthouses. We never used the butler or concierge service much aside from dinner reservations. We love the free Cagney's breakfast perk (we know it is the Haven restaurant on the Getaway), and the Haven is something we just don't use as we spend most of our time on our own balcony. Love the aft view and the mesmerizing sound of the wake. We want to try the Getaway, but with our oldest in college, we just can't swing the price of a suite on the new ship. Will we be disappointed?

I just switched to an aft balcony in the Breakaway on deck 9, I called NCL, they say the total square footage is 333 with the balcony being 158 square feet and the room itself 175 square feet for this particular room!!

  6. My last cruise on the jewel (October 2012) my husband bought the soda package and I did not. It does not say anywhere that everyone in the room has to purchase it but I do remember reading (not sure where) that NCL may be changing that policy and making it so that everyone in the room has to purchase it, I think they are figuring out that people share!
