  1. I'd definitely get insurance we've been using insure my trip. Sometimes it seems a waste when you've never used it but...

Just off a cruise with a stop in Nassau a little girl had went under in the water several times and was barely breathing but mentally not responding. She was taken by ambulance and unfortunately we will never know the ending (i hope it was good) but if the family didn't have insurance how will they pay for possibly a huge bill?

  2. Just back from our cruise!

We did use Isaira tours very happy with the service! Met us promptly outside the gate and catered the tour to our wants!

We did the cable car, chocolate factory and the fort.

My biggest goal was to go to a school and take a few supplies. I could only sneak off a couple of backpacks, but so worth it. Some of the kids had lost their only notebook in the flooding so the teacher was going to split the 3 I had brought into sections so they could have paper. Many children's parents cant even afford a pencil for their child!

If we can ever go back I will be doing this again or having the guide take us grocery shopping to take food to some hungry families.

  3. We have been on atleast 15 cruises, a fan goes with me every time! I also found a white noise machine on Amazon that worked good, but when we were traveling in another country forgot to put the converter on and fried it!

It always surprises me how many people like to sleep with the noise of a fan!

  4. I'm not sure how a person is supposed to KNOW its spring break on a cruise? Not all people have kids in college?

We booked 1 once never realizing it was spring break, now I know spring break can last not just 1 week but several as not all schools go at the same time. Lesson learned!

I do agree it would be nice to know when its something like that or a partially chartered one.

  5. In Aruba we went with Around Aruba Tours and went to their animal Rehabilitation center and left from there in a side by side utility vehicle to go to the Natural pond, an old gold mine and saw the small arch bridge.

Hubby and I (50 yrs) thought that was fun.

In Curacou we went with Curacou Actief over to Shete Boka National Park as that looked like something we would be interested in. We rode in a open back truck and we're the only 2 along for the ride! We had the driver drop us off at the market area so we could cross the floating bridge and hang out till it was dark enough to see the bridge lit. (Pretty)

Check these sites out on tripadvisor to see if it's something your group would enjoy.

  6. We will be doing a Baltic cruise in May and we have booked a private tour with Best Guides, they were more reasonable in price and are willing to work with us. We are a mom and dad with 3 young adult kids, a son-in-law and a 9 month old we wanted the flexibility to choose where we want to go and as we aren't huge into art etc, we can just move on as we briefly look at things and if baby is not cooperating we won't be bothering others.

In Berlin we had considered using them again it is $105 per adult and $85 for the baby, we thought she may not be required to be in a car seat if we were traveling on a bus, but was informed today that yes she will have to be !

I am not sure what to do now as we did want to go to Berlin but I don't want to torture the grandbaby being in a carseat for 6 hours roundtrip! (At this point she's not fond of her carseat)

  7. I noticed when we booked 3/4th free for our upcoming Alaska cruise that it was only offered on early/mid-May cruises and then missing until September. .

We have a Baltic cruise booked the end of May with 3/4th free I was told they do not offer that promotion in the summer.

  8. I'm quite surprised how many positive and encouraging words for 4 in an inside room, I've seen many post on other cruise lines saying it's awful and on and on.

We have sailed with 4 adults in our room Hubby and I and 2 adult kids. It is tight but :)completely doable! We really aren't in our room except to sleep, shower, and change (and NO its not because we can't stand it!)

We going on vacation to see and do things not hang out in a room!

The 3rd and 4th guest free makes the cruise much more affordable and we will be taking advantage of this again on our Baltic cruise!

Best of luck and remember to go into it knowing it WILL be small but atleast you are together and on vacation!

  9. Once booked on if I went with Getaway, I am able to book restaurant reservations as well as shows? Can you actually pick your table and seats at shows?

At final payment you can definitely book the shows (I just did for an upcoming May cruise) but I don't think its a choice for picking seats just getting you into the show or I didn't see anything about picking seats.

We did the Oasis and prebooked shows it just got us into the theater, at a certain time they just opened the doors for anyone that could find an empty seat.
