We used to take lots of shorter cruises out of LA and have all but given them up thanks to the booze cruise mentality and excess of kidlets on board.

Yes ~ you got that right. I would love to sail out of San Juan and add a beach week before or after the cruise. Right now, I'm looking at another line, which I hate to do as I prefer Princess.

This ought to be fun :rolleyes:. When we're on St. Thomas and Grand Turk there's only 2 so that's manageable, but five is going to make for some major congestion.

I'm wondering if we ought to rent a jeep instead. An ATV sounds like so much more fun, but I want to shop and will need a place to put all our stuff (rum, jewelry, perfume, spices, etc). Can't tell my husband about my dilemma or he'll insist on the ATV and nix the shopping!

Can we rent these on our own or must we be part of a group? I too want to explore via ATV but don't want to be on a schedule.

Those of you that have rented on your own and explored the island without a guide, where did you go and what did you do?

There are so many places I want to see, eat, shop and hang on the beach for a couple of hours I don't think I can cram it all in :mad:!
