April 8, 2017 in a Havana balcony that overlooks the pool!
More excited for this cruise in 2017 than I am about the cruises we have coming up sooner in 2016 lol!!
-
LaCal - we had suite 7273, on the other side of the elevator banks but near 7270, in August and it was noisy in the afternoons and evenings from the all the trivia and music in the lobby.
Thankfully we'd go to bed really late so it wasn't an issue, but it was pretty loud and clear in the afternoons and early evenings that we were in the cabin.
Several times we'd run up to the cabin after dinner to change or make a drink and it was still pretty loud at 10-11 pm. We commented all week how frustrating it must be for those trying to sleep.
It must have something to do with the glass elevators, and I believe it's just that area as our neighbors is 7275 didn't hear a thing.

So happy to hear people are enjoying the Conquest.
We are so looking forward to our March cruise on her.
The worst day on a cruise ship is still better than the best day at work.

Hey LaCal! I'm on your March Conquest cruise too and am right there with ya! I wish our roll call would pick up :)
I booked this cruise when it first was released over a year ago so we could snag one of those Grand Scenic Oceanview rooms. Then I checked the roll calls weekly for a year and a half for this cruise, and finally I started it, hoping people would start chatting. I bet it'll pick up after the holidays.
There is a page for this cruise on that popular social media site, but there's not much going on there either. Are you on that site?
In the meantime, we can look at reviews and dream!

OMG it's at the Barcelo!!! If you can still get tickets, I'd go to the concert.
The Barcelo Maya Resort is absolutely gorgeous! We stay there every June for two weeks and I wouldn't give it up for anything...including a cruise.
Good luck in your decision!

I think the port intensive itinerary wears people out. We are huge piano bar aficionados and on our Liberty cruise noticed it was pretty dead at night, except for maybe 15-20 minutes after the comedy show ended.
I know we normally hang until the wee hours of the morning, and even we were struggling to stay awake after 11 pm. Getting up early every day coupled with only one sea day really beat us up!

Do any other Fantasy ships have Guy's or Red Frog/Blue Iguana?
Those are some nice upgrades! Too bad they can't add another pool :-)
Looking forward to cruising out of Alabama, a new port for us.

If you venture into the Piano Bar in the evening, check out their drink menu. They have some fabulous drinks...Music, Sweet Music, my favorite!!

Awww love this review. We were on this cruise and it's bringing back such awesome memories. You took some fab pics so far -- can't wait to see more!
Looking forward to the rest!

Copy and send this to your agent. This is what I do...
1. The agent should go into goccl and open up the reservation.
2. Click on "Payment" then "Make Payment"
3. Under the drop down menu 'Payment type' select Carnival gift card"
I've had no problem applying these on a multitude of bookings. However
Good luck!

There is a drop down box on the TA payment page and he can drop down and select "Carnival Gift Card."

Just off the Liberty three weeks ago and they did not have the new room service menu yet.

Hi NCTribeFan! May I ask what time you had your steakhouse reservation? I love the idea of going on that first evening. I'm wondering if 7pm is pushing it to make muster drill or if it would be fine, or if 6:30/ 6:45pm would be better?
We had a 7:30 reservation and were out of there at 9 pm...plenty of time to change our clothes and grab a drink before muster.

Do you think there will be a problem renting loungers later in the afternoon? We won't arrive until 1 pm and would like to head over for a few hours of beach time.
-
Thank you for posting this!
I just saved another $50. I'm surprised they aren't already sold out.
Such a great deal for those who can manage to grab some when they're available!

I'm so sorry for the confusion. I have been scouring Google Maps all day, slowly moving up the coast. It turns out it was in Hollywood and the hotel was Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach and the restaurant was Padrino's Cuban Cuisine.
Great pool area and that restaurant fantastic. Too bad the location is very inconvenient. Even if we fly out of FLL after a cruise from Miami, with the lack of airport shuttles it just doesn't make sense.

I'm trying to remember the hotel we stayed post cruise in 2010 and despite combing through all my old cruise emails and perusing photos, I cannot for the life of me remember the name. I've read through many threads on this discussion board hoping something familiar pops out, but so far, nothing.
The hotel had a pool that backed up to some sort of canal or waterway with chaise loungers facing it, and it was within walking distance to a Cuban restaurant. I'm pretty sure the Cuban restaurant was in a strip mall and not a free standing restaurant.
Ugh this is driving me crazy as I want to book there again!
Does anyone have an idea of where this might be? If you can give me some possible names, I could go on Trip Advisor and look through pictures to hopefully confirm.
Thanks :)

Are they still calling people to the naughty room these days? They are destroying any alcoholic beverage found in checked luggage now. We received a letter in our stateroom saying they destroyed our wine which we forgot to remove from the plastic bins in our suitcase before we boarded. This was two weeks ago. We never got called to the naughty room. Just the letter.
Trust me, we'll never make that mistake again.
We begged guest services and security to please not destroy it and let us have it back on the last night as it was very pricey wine. They stated the new policy was to destroy any alcohol found in checked bags, as was written in our letter.
That was a very expensive mistake :(

Oh thank you so much! I just got two and saved $100!
And they're still available :)

If you have an opportunity to go to Anguilla - go for it!
We took the Blue Safari tour over there and I swear those are the best beaches I've ever seen!
We spent about 5 hours there, made three stops, had an amazing lunch at Roy's Bayside Grill, and came home and are planning an island hopping vacation where Anguilla will not be skipped!
Have fun and enjoy Anguilla.

Jalousie Beach!
Look up Sugar Beach Resort on Trip Advisor and you'll see photos of the beautiful beach on which this resort sits. This is the beach which Spencer Ambrose's tour takes you.
After taking the tour, we returned home and booked a vacation at this resort. It is gorgeous!

We were there this past December/January and the water was warm. Sorry I don't know the temperature, but I hate cool water and I thought it was great.

We recently switched to Carnival and have been really happy. We are elite on Princess and find the nightlife is so much better on Carnival (no, we are not swinging from the chandeliers partiers!! ;-). We love the comedy shows and piano bars. We can sit in that piano bar singing along for hours!
I also think the food is equal if not a tad bit better on Carnival. But boy do we miss the International Cafe and that wonderful Princess room service. Carnival's room service is horrible.
I am a high school counselor so can only cruise on holiday breaks or during summer so I have no choice but to travel when kids are out of school and haven't noticed any more kids on Carnival than on Princess during those time periods.
And as for the Liberty - she's gorgeous! Very classy ship. My husband says it reminded him of the Ruby :-)

I rented VRBO Listing #3871493ha - the title when you scroll down is "5 Star Rated:17th Floor Oceanfront Isla Verde Beach Apt. - Sept. Special $490/wk"...we didn't get that Sept special, but it was still incredibly affordable. I think we paid about $900 for the 9 nights we were there.
It's nothing fancy, just a clean little condo with an AMAZING view!

I've walked by these tables a many times and have never bothered to stop.
How much does this stuff go for? I'd like a dolphin bracelet :)
