  1. There were separate lines in Puerto Rico in both 2015 and 2016. They were the same lines the crew used and we only waited a few minutes. They were not marked however. We had a Porter help us with all our luggage and asked "Is there a Global Entry line?" and were then moved there. It's the furthest line to the right. No kiosks, but the line was 1/4 of the regular line. So if San Juan has it, I'm ganna guess Miami may have a special line too.

  2. Does anyone know how to get more points on aarp? I had enough to buy $600 worth of gift cards. I can use some more to pay off my current balance.

You can take their little quizzes, and you also get points for logging on every day. You can also earn points by joining and renewing every year.

  3. Sorry - I was responding to a previous post about the ebay bucks.

This seems to be offered pretty regularly, so I'm sure someone will announce when they're on sale again. I signed up for this seller's newsletter, so hopefully I'll get an email the next time they're on sale.

  4. We were in a suite last month and did not purchase FTTF, yet not only did our luggage tags say FTTF, they put the FTTF sticker on the back of our S&S cards. Had I purchased it as well, I would've wasted $60.

But there seems to be so much inconsistency with many of Carnival's new policies. The FTTF added to my suite booking in San Juan may not have happened in, say, Long Beach or Galveston.

  5. I sailed Freedom March 2015, Liberty July 2015 and Conquest March 2016 and really couldn't tell the difference between the three of them.

Except we missed the Red Frog Pub on the Liberty and Conquest.

But as for the age and condition of the ship = I honestly thought they were all very similar.

  6. My hubby and I will be cruising out of San Juan in October on the Carnival Fascination. The ship does not depart until 10pm. I read somewhere that you are able to check in and board the ship, and then leave to explore the town. Has anyone recently done this? Any info is greatly appreciated.

We just sailed on her a few weeks ago. We checked our bags in at 10:30 am then went out to breakfast and returned later to board.

You're fine doing that. Enjoy your cruise!

  7. Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the comments above. We were on the 7/23 sailing last month. The piano player is HORRIBLE. We went there and one of the guests had a little bit too much to drink the first night. She came around the bar, into the piano area. Rather than calmly ask her to leave, he yelled for security like she was an active shooter. I get it, its not allowed, but he could have handled it much better. Instead, he put his arms across his chest and said "i am not going to play until she is gone".

Then about 20 minutes later, our group gave him a rather large tip along with a list of 4 song request. His response "thanks for the tip, but just yell out your requests, I don't do napkin requests"...seriously?!?!

Needless to say, we only went that one night.

I will disagree with the comment about the Server. She was fantastic, and is located in the Blue Iguana bar during the day. She was always attentive.

Our experience with him on the Conquest was very similar. We are huge piano bar lovers, and totally boycotted after about the 3rd night. We actually met a bunch of new friends who were similarly turned off by him, and we all left and hung out at the Alchemy bar right outside the piano bar the remaining nights. He was a jerk!

  8. Just saw this post. We are going on Wednesday, August 24th and I can pick it up if you would like... just let me know!

On a different note, Did you enjoy your visit there? Any chance you arranged for transfers through Reggae themselves? I was wondering about the return back to the ship, and how the time was determined.

Thanks, and good luck with the wallet!

    Annette~

Oh my goodness you are a doll!!! We just arranged for them to FedEx it to us. It has been a looooong process. I truly appreciate your offer, but I believe it's already been shipped.

We just hopped in a taxi (a small bus, actually) - I'm not aware that they provide transportation, but we had a full taxi and there were several in the parking lot all day to take cruisers back to port. The taxi that drops you off will most likely ask you when you want to be picked up and he'll return. We had to be back on board by 4:30

The beach was absolutely beautiful. We rented chairs and an umbrella for around $15, and had a couple of drinks. They had fun music playing and it was just an overall great day (until we got back to our ship to discover my husband's missing wallet). Aaaarrrghh! He bought a long sleeved t-shirt right before we left and he is pretty sure he left the wallet on the counter.

I'll try to post some pics if I can figure out how to post them! Ha!

  9. You might try the FB group "Carnival Cruisers, Past, Present ad Future." It is a very active group.

Actually I did find someone on next week's sailing on the CCPPP page and they said they are taking a land tour that may stop by Reggae Beach for a short while...so we'll see. Hopefully my husband will get them to ship it to him before then.

Did you post on the Fascination roll call page for the next couple of weeks?

Yes - I posted it in next week's roll call. The roll call after that only had a couple of people, and hardly any discussion at all.
