Update: after hours on chat and making sure we had the assigned cabin B736 I happened to log in this morning and see that we were moved to a "Guaranteed MC" and upcharged $600. So I spent 2 more hours on chat getting that reversed
MC mini suites are all directly under pool decks and not at all our idea of a good cabin location.

I got the email with the new booking number for the change from Crown to Royal May 20-27 but it won’t open. Says “can’t access” and it’s not showing up on Medallion. Are you able to get into your booking? Thanks.
On Princess.com I could not. I get an error on the main site. Fortunately I can use the Travel agent portal but still had to contact customer service to make any changes as the updated ship isn't live for booking yet.

At first we were reassigned a standard balcony D720. It took me about 2 hours in chat with Princess but I did get an aft view cabin like I had booked on Crown princess. It's not the corner cabin since those are all suites on Royal but I am satisfied with the cabin we are booked in now, B736.

Sounds like they put the bigger cruise ship in Seattle as they are getting more bookings there (easier for US Citizens to fly into an out of a US city)

We got the email too 😞 had the much sought after aft corner balcony on caribe deck.... Was moved to D720 on Royal. I have to get back on chat with TA line tomorrow to see if I can move cabins. Really disappointed as we booked well in advance because we wanted an aft corner balcony for this special 25th anniversary cruise to Alaska.

I am booked for May 2023 on Crown and a bit nervous about the issues. I am glad I am not on this year and I hope they will repair the issues the ship is having. Cruisers put a lot of time thought and planning in for a cruise. Having such a huge change occur on such short notice sucks and would peeve me off. $100 seems like a measley compensation.

I love the stage how's on cruises. Does anyone know what the shows are going to be for Alaska cruises especially on Crown Princess. Or where I can find this info?

The last time we went on a multigenerational family cruise, I bought clearance Mardi Gras beads and hung them on the hook by the door, but they were, constantly, stolen.
Most people assume if Mardi Gras beads are hanging they are free to take. I have seen people hand them out or leave a small bunch hanging on a hook on their door for people to take.
I think it's just a Mardi Gras beads thing

Ok I will call tomorrow and ask for a Do Not Upgrade to be posted on my booking.
I'm excited about the cabin I picked and booked

How likely are they to upgrade you. I have an aft corner balcony from May 2023 Alaska. This seems to be a very much preferred room. I have not asked for the do not upgrade yet. What is considered an upgrade and is it done without warning or do they call and ask you to accept or refuse the upgrade in the event they even offer one.

Ok I know whale watching excision is an absolute must do so I have been sifting through options.
Should we go through our cruise line (Princess) or will it be rushed and over crowded?
If an independent excursion company is better which do you all recommend?
Is the combo Whale watching and Mendenhall Glacier preferred or should we book a pure whale watching one?
One last question: many o the excursions offer a salmon or crab cookout meal... Is that worth it or better to find a local restaurant in town after the excursion?

How soon do I need to book my excursions for May 2023. I don't want them to sell out but I want to have time to research what we want to do.

Adding on to my previous answer, since you are from the Atlanta, I truly believe that if you get off the ship in ISP and just walk around (you can even walk on the shore), surrounded by water, trees and mountains, you will feel like you are really in Alaska. It will probably be light out until 10 pm. You will love ISP - there isn't anything like it on the east coast.
We live outside Atlanta but I am originally from rural Alabama. We camp a lot and adore the outdoors. I have never been to the PNW tho and am very excited. I am sure any cruise will WOW us.

I have been pouring over itenaries for days and I am settled on making sure Glacier Bay is on the list which narrows me to 3 cruise lines. All are within the same price range. We are a late 40/early 50's couple celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. First time to Alaska. Not huge drinkers or partiers. We enjoy shows/music on cruise ships but not all the sales pushes, casinos or bingo.

Is this pretty safe to go alone? I have never been to Nassau. I booked a spur of the moment budget get away so Atlantis is out of the budget and beach doesnt really appeal but this looks interesting.

M262 sorry 😂

I just booked my husband and I a somewhat last minute cruise for Sept 9th on the Carnival Ecstacy going to the Bahamas. We know its a smaller older ship and will be getting a much needed refurbishment in Oct. We are going in with that knowledge. We just needed a budget vacation as our daughter is getting married in November to relax a little before the final frenzy of wedding planning.
I booked an Aft Ocean view room on the Main deck (M626). Anyone have any pros or cons to this room?
We have never been to the Bahamas and i am currently researching excursion ideas. If anyone has a favorite you recommend I am open to suggestions.

I was quite shocked to see the increased total. I'm not sure what happened within the reassignment phase but that was a no go for us. Hopefully our room assignment is all settled not but I will keep close watch
