Thanks for posting. The ship is beautiful. I looked into booking this ship in December and unfortunately the prices were outrageous through a US travel agency. Our friends in the UK got a great deal.

So cool..thanks for sharing. I wish we had gotten to dock at Havensight on the Royal.

I really liked the ad and the fact that they showcased ships across their different brands.

None are bad choices but we would pick Coral Princess because we love that ship -- lots of viewing areas! :)

I agree. Coral Princess is the perfect ship for Alaska. I also find the food and dining options to be superior on Princess compared to HAL.

I agree based on my recent cruise on the Royal. Alfredo's pizza was delicious. I also thought the pizza by the pool was great and not greasy whatsoever.

The Crown has some sailings that go to Glacier Bay. It's a spectacular place so I'd vote for that cruise. Tracy Arm is pretty too but it's not guaranteed you can get very far in to see glaciers.

The buffet is awesome.
Agreed. I was blown away by the endless choices which were constantly changing. Never encountered any lines and it was a holiday cruise. I also loved the expanded international cafe and Alfredos. Delicious pizzas and calzone. The pizza by the pool area was also excellent just different. With all the great dining options we never felt the need to pay extra for the specialty restaurants.

Cartagena. Columbia is in my top two or three favorite places we have had the pleasure to visit. The old city is unbelievable and I cannot imagine going to Cartagena and not seeing it! The history and architecture are fascinating and we found the locals to be very welcoming.
Agree 100%. It's a beautiful city that I'd love to return to. Never felt unsafe at all.

I was on the Royal a few weeks ago and the horn blowing was one of the highlights. Lol. The captain sounded the horn at least 7 times leaving Port Everglades and numerous times leaving each port. Loved it.

I'm happy you had such a great cruise. I was on the Royal for Christmas and it was wonderful. Absolutely loved the ship and wish I could have stayed on for the next leg.

Just off the Royal and had the best mattress and pillows out of all my cruises. I slept better than I have in a long time. :)

Sorry to hear you missed St. Kitts. You've got a great attitude that I wish more people had. I was on the Royal last week and I would have likely had the same reaction. What a beautiful ship and fantastic crew! Enjoy the rest of your cruise. :)

Thanks so much for your review and comparison. I'm enjoying it. I just spent Christmas on the Royal and loved the ship, so much so we're looking at repeating the Royal or trying the Regal next year.

Thank you for your great review! Glad to hear you had such a good cruise. I got to spend a few short hours on the Royal last year and was really impressed..can't wait to actually sail on her next week!

I'm really disappointed in these changes after enjoying the Coral so much. I had been planning to do a full transit on the Island next December but now I have very little desire to go on this ship. What a shame.

I sort of regret checking pricing this morning for our Dec 19 sailing on the Royal. Balcony rooms are now priced significantly lower than our inside. Even though it states prices are for new bookings only I figured I'd call Princess anyway. I wasn't expecting any reimbursement or obc but simply inquired about upgrading to a balcony. They said there was nothing they could do other than put us in a potential upgrade pool. Oh well. Maybe we'll get lucky with an upsell offer.

Looks like the Grand is doing a 10 day SF to Mexico instead.

I'd go with the Nieuw Amsterdam. I love that ship and those eastern ports are great, especially San Juan.

That's fantastic, congrats! In my experience Princess is very generous with upgrades.

These changes are really disappointing. I loved the Coral and was strongly considering a full transit cruise on the Island next year. Now I'm not so sure..

Coral is at the top of my list.

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago and I ended up taking a different ship..still had a great cruise. Hopefully the price drops on Getaway but if not maybe consider another ship with the same dates out of Miami.

For years we have thought that the food on X was superior to that on Princess. This was not so on our Century cruise earlier this month.
My experience exactly. While I found the food to be good overall on my recent Century cruise, it was very inconsistent and service in the MDR was terrible. We actually ate dinner in the buffet several nights because of it. The buffet wasn't great either but at least we could serve ourselves. My recent Princess cruises were better in every aspect. Never thought I'd be saying this because I've always been a big fan of Celebrity.
