  1. None are bad choices but we would pick Coral Princess because we love that ship -- lots of viewing areas! :)

I agree. Coral Princess is the perfect ship for Alaska. I also find the food and dining options to be superior on Princess compared to HAL.

  2. The buffet is awesome.

Agreed. I was blown away by the endless choices which were constantly changing. Never encountered any lines and it was a holiday cruise. I also loved the expanded international cafe and Alfredos. Delicious pizzas and calzone. The pizza by the pool area was also excellent just different. With all the great dining options we never felt the need to pay extra for the specialty restaurants.

  3. Cartagena. Columbia is in my top two or three favorite places we have had the pleasure to visit. The old city is unbelievable and I cannot imagine going to Cartagena and not seeing it! The history and architecture are fascinating and we found the locals to be very welcoming.

Agree 100%. It's a beautiful city that I'd love to return to. Never felt unsafe at all.

  4. I was on the Royal a few weeks ago and the horn blowing was one of the highlights. Lol. The captain sounded the horn at least 7 times leaving Port Everglades and numerous times leaving each port. Loved it.

  5. I sort of regret checking pricing this morning for our Dec 19 sailing on the Royal. Balcony rooms are now priced significantly lower than our inside. Even though it states prices are for new bookings only I figured I'd call Princess anyway. I wasn't expecting any reimbursement or obc but simply inquired about upgrading to a balcony. They said there was nothing they could do other than put us in a potential upgrade pool. Oh well. Maybe we'll get lucky with an upsell offer.

  6. For years we have thought that the food on X was superior to that on Princess. This was not so on our Century cruise earlier this month.

My experience exactly. While I found the food to be good overall on my recent Century cruise, it was very inconsistent and service in the MDR was terrible. We actually ate dinner in the buffet several nights because of it. The buffet wasn't great either but at least we could serve ourselves. My recent Princess cruises were better in every aspect. Never thought I'd be saying this because I've always been a big fan of Celebrity.
