This particular Royal Albert China is a discontinued pattern called rainbow and ironically we don't have the teapot, they are incredibly rare I only ever saw one for sale $500.00. There is also a Coronation teapot also quite rare, I bid on a couple on Ebay but someone else wanted them more than I did.
Royal Albert locked up behind glass.. spent yesterday in hospital got a cuppa in a paper cup
not the virus not my heart ...was a bit short of breath which worried them a little now have both legs bandaged with veinious ulcers 99% of the staff were great apart from one little doctor who was as rough as .......and hurt me then went off in a huff the nurses were all great ...but can one say in hospital no more needles???
I'm getting very twitchy when the needles come out so no screening test before a cruise for me no perhaps we might just get to go for a drive see the grandkids
the albert can be broken out for afternoon tea duties ....
oh well life is not ment to be easy..... someone said that before

The ASX is 2WD. I drove one from Sydney to Newcastle in heavy rain and and it did inspire any confidence at all. By comparison, the Forester is a delight to drive with its symmetrical AWD in all conditions.
The VIP'er has a Kia Seltos on order supposed to be a very nice medium sized SUV
but delivery dates are all over the place something like a six month wait

Do you mean the Lighthouse Lodge? It was actually the harbour master's house, not the lighthouse keeper's. This house was built around 1910-11, many years after the stone lighthouse keepers' cottages which are part of the Flagstaff Hill precinct.

Hi Leigh
I should have mentioned the International Lightship an Lighthouse weekend , a regular amateur radio event that takes place around the world each August to celebrate the work of the People involved and to encourage knowledge of lighthouse people
http://vk5cwl.weebly.com/illw.html
and dont forget the song " I wanna marry a lighthouse keeper and keep him company"

Yes please you can use Foster's for that and then we can enjoy some proper beer😁
I do like the Kia, they have way better styling than Hyundai. That being said the colour selection here for the Kia was boring. We like Toyota but they are getting uglier by the year. The Forester was the right size and we like the style, made in Japan. Ours is what they call a "Limited" here almost all the bells and whistles. And we like the red with black leather interior, the "Premier" has a brown leather interior.
We normally use used beer for fighting such fires.. (grin) Yep KIA couler schemes are somewhat sparse . mine is the two tone light gray leather inside with Mercury blue exterior ..the GT line is top of the range it was a 70th birthday prezzie from the MIL not a bad old stick :=)

VdG is due to depart Tilbury in Oct. for Aust. via Pacific Ocean.
A lot can happen by then. CMV have got to stay viable & maybe off load some of the vessels on charter.
Astoria is due to go - most likely to the breakers.
Astoria .. a lot of history in that ship as Stockholm she was involved with collision with Andrea Adoria ... can still remember those sad TV Pictures of her sinking

Gas under a buck, isn't that grand. We are about the same here, I'm not holding my breath that it will stay like that when we get there. Assuming your Government lets us in and we aren't burned at the stake by an angry mob when we disembark our cruise ship.
Dont worry , we will put the fires out with buckets of beer .......... and I'm a happy boy with my GT Line Kia Sportage...very happy with it no issues at three years of onership

Some of the cruise lines also lease their ships . The ones that do will be the first to go under.there are going to be lots of ships that can be leased before this is all over (smart ass comment) but have a think about it companies with just leases can walk away from things very easy

I don't think Virgin will come through this. They don't have any assets, and their planes are leased. How do you make lease payments without income?
reading between the lines the Government are NOT going to bail Virgin out

Hi Leigh I see you already found my little plea for information.
The Quest on Dorcas was $498 AUD for 3 nights for a 1 bedroom apartment. I like what I see on the website I just didn't like that they hosed me for full payment 11 months in advance without making it clear they were going to.
We have booked a night at Craig's in Ballarat I hope that is as nice as the photos.
To your question from the other thread we aren't going to be that far west...yet. We are driving Melbourne to Ballarat then to Port Campbell, we have 2 nights there, so maybe a drive west on the great ocean road could probably happen. Why Port Cambell you say? no particular reason, it's close to the Apostles and they say it's best to see those at sunrise and sunset so we can do both from there. We planned the legs to hopefully be a comfortable drive distance. From Port Campbell it's a drive on the great Ocean Road to Wallington for 1 night then on to Philip Island 2 nights. Then we will drop the car and fly to Sydney
Have a think about the VUE GRAND at Queenscliffe its worth a look

Thanks for the info. Yes we are doing both Jordan and Israel as five day land trips then Cairo then a 7 day Nile cruise. It may be our last significant journey overseas.
I was so lucky to visit Cairo and the museum before they had the fire sway king TUT in all his glory and of course the Great Pyramids and the Spinx whist she still had her nose
Also in Greece with no scaffolding just walk up and prawns with goats cheese and Ozo!
This was in 1964 I think ....

Well here it was a weekend of thought..and we have come to the decision that we are a long way off beating this China Virus we need to adopt a much more radical defense against the second wave of this pandemic, which is not finished with us just yet

The Langham is rather expensive, close to $400 a night. Travelodge Southbank is being used for Australians returning home to quarantine. It really depends on how much you want to spend.

What about the Grand old Dame ...is it closed at the moment ... afternoon tea at the top end of Collins street was never so good I remember my mother going to town in hat and long white gloves for tea at the Windsor

Just an aside, in WA a slab is 30 cans, and a carton is 24 (bottles or cans) All usually 375mls. 6 is a pack. Yep, we are big on fluid replacement. The tax man loves us.🍺
in New Zealand you have to lean the language .. "Steinlarger" will help

Oh dear Leigh ...what a morning..... I hope things improve somewhat ..I went to see the pain specialist yesterday and he suggested that from now on my treatment will be in the way of palliative care IE we treat the symptoms and do not try to cure the issue , he says because of my age and medical issues this is the way to go and we concentrate on obtaining the best quality of life outcomes ... my legs have been bandaged again and they have used a matrix style dressing that has an antibiotic built into it and when is removed does not pull on the skin , I think they use it for burns anyway I go back on Friday to see how they are going ..
We have decided that we are going to use the Norspan Patch system again but with modified duration using each patch for 3 days only rather than seven days and I am allowed up to 2 endone a day plus panadol osteo and a couple of other things .
The doctor agreed that we could potter our way north to see grandkids as soon as the virus allows but he thought that the international boarders would remain closed for a long time (years) He also said he thought we could eradicate the virus in Australia
VIP;er and Elsie have been out to see TOOTSIE this morning so have had a short break out from confined to barracks
Oh Dear I hope the police catch the ratfink that caused you so much grief.....
Best Regards
John
