Thanks for your review! We went in April on the Magic and had a great time. I'm curious as to what time you were able to board the ship? Also, be sure to give the kids club another try, my 3 year old loved it, but wouldn't stay when she was two.

I've been on both recently, I liked the Magic way better. The triumph held a lot of the events in the lobby of the casino, so it was super smokey. We had our 2 year old with us, so I was real sensitive to that.
The triumph staff was great and friendly. We enjoyed Guy's. It's not that I would never sail triumph again, but given the choice I'd go with magic. I felt like the magic had more events going on and in better locations.
I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself though.

We received one, we got there at our recommended time. It was actually pretty late and no one had been allowed to board. It was similar to flying, we all had to sit and wait while they called each groups number. I think we were in group 29. This was out of Galveston in April.

We just did this same itinerary with our 3 year old. We brought a sand bucket with shovel and her puddle jumper lifesaver. You could fill the bucket with stuff and pack in your luggage, have the kids just carry it on or hook it with the handle onto your carry on.

We had our 3 year old in a puddle jumper, it's great and not an issue. The weight range is for 30-50 pounds.

We have an active 3 yr old, we went on the carnival magic. It's called camp ocean, they have an igloo with a small slide to climb on in the 2-5 yr class. They pass out a schedule and it seemed pretty well followed, there was dancing, obstacle courses, car races and lots more. They always seemed busy and entertained. The other great thing about the magic was the waterworks area and kid friendly slides, our lo had a blast! *They don't take the young kids around water, they stay in their area.

Thanks that was a lot of help!! I hope she enjoys it, she's turning 2 Monday and is very outgoing but who knows if she'll be there in 6 months.
I think the best thing we did is to tell her to have the staff call as soon as she wanted to leave and we'd be right there. She never had them call, in fact several times she sent us away because she was having so much fun. Good luck!

Here's my review of camp ocean 2-5 year old group:

I did a write up of camp ocean, my 3 year old loved it. She wasn't interested when she was two, but she was barely 2. Hope this helps:

We did an inside the first time, it was too small. We just got an ocean view with a couch, I'd at the very least get a room with a couch. My lo refused to nap at 2 and no longer naps at 3. Just be prepared for things to be a bit different.
-
Swimming and water slides were her favorite, but my lo also loved the kids club. Pack a puddle jumper, greatest life jacket ever!

Hi. I just discovered this tonight! So, you pay 5 dollars and you can try anything on the menu? Also, do they do it on an at see day?
You have to sign up once you're onboard. It's $5 per person, it's on a sea day and is basically the sea day brunch menu tweaked to make it Seuss like.
The steak and eggs were great. My lo got the cereal coated French toast, I'd heard it was real sweet so we had it made with corn flakes. It was fun and definitely worth trying once.
-
The first time my lo was 2 and we had to stand outside, everyone around us was sweet to her and it went fine. Most recently at 3, we were mustered in the dining room. It was super easy and they excused us in the first group. Good luck.
-
I would definitely say nassau has the prettier beaches.
-
Milk was always available in the dining room, it's on the buffet for breakfast too.
-
You can register online. We did that, then went by to tour it as soon as we got on board. We visited with them and got the schedule for the week. I believe the registration was the first evening around 5, but it wasn't necessary for us to attend.
-
We went on a different line with our 3 yr old. She's never been to daycare and typically won't even go in the nursery at the gym. We spent a lot of time talking about the special club just for kids and the activities offered. We also made it clear to her and the staff that as soon as she was ready to leave to call us. We checked in often, many times she was having so much fun she sent us away.

I leave tomorrow. I always forget something that I should
bring. Like nightlights for the bathroom. (seems silly but it
really helps)
What would you remind me not to forget.
JT:D
I forgot my bathing suit top, antacids and should've brought more sunscreen. It was my first time using spray on sunscreen, didn't realize how fast it goes. Hope you do better than I did!

When we took our barely 2 yr old, we had them put the crib mattress on the floor and made her up a pallet there. It wasn't a real thick pad, but it worked for a week. We brought her blanket and lovey from home to help make it familiar.
-
Make sure to check the specific ship too, carnival waterworks, Seuss at sea, mini golf, rope courses and more are on some ships.
-
I'd choose a ship that has carnival waterworks (kids slides and spray ground) and the dr Seuss at sea. Our 3 year old had a blast!
-
Can you tell me more about the waterworks on Magic?
You said the slides are 36" but is that for the big slides? Or for the kid sized ones?
Thinking of booking for next year. My kiddo would be 3 but he's floats around the 1%-3% for height and weight.
On the stairs leading to the toddler slides it said 36" tall, there was an attendant watching the slide, but they didn't enforce the height. My lo is 37" tall and there were several smaller than her. Grownups can also use those with your lo.
The attendants main goal was making sure kids didn't go down until the last kid was off the slide.
The big slides 42" I think, but I'm not 100% sure. I don't know if they enforce that or not.
There's also a spray ground type area, so there's plenty to do if not interested in the slides.

We're just off the Magic, the only day it seemed crowded was the first day. We chose magic over freedom due to the carnival waterworks. If you're traveling with kids, I'd take that into account.
-
Does the Magic have the American Table menu? It was on the Freedom when we sailed over Spring Break and I actually quite liked it. The old menu was fine, but honestly I was bored with it and wanted something new. :)
We were on the Magic in April, it was still the old menu.

I believe you get to decide if your child can check themselves out or not.
