  1. Thanks for your wonderful & forthright Photo Review...review was great & photos were great...

When we went on the Carnival Magic's Sister Ship the Carnival Breeze, we had read a review that talked about how slippery the lido buffet was and the person had a fall..When we went on the Carnival Breeze the floor was slippery (we didn't fall), but one day a young boy went by us in the Lido Buffet and he was actually skating on the floor with regular tennis shoes (not the roller kind)...I guess somehow they don't use a grease cutter type cleanser on the floor...

Besides that, the Carnival Breeze was Fantastic in every way and one of our best cruises. :):):):)

I noticed lots of people using the spray on sunscreen, it can be super slippery when it gets on the floors. I wonder if the wind carried it in and helped attribute to the slippery floors.

  2. =====================================================

Thank you. I saw that' date=' but wasn't sure of the date when you had a cruise

    on the Magic.

Didn't know if it was recently?

Reason I am asking is because my youngest daughter has been waiting her

entire Cruise Life to be in the Legends show as Britney Spears.

Since she was 7 or 8yr!!! She has been waiting. She finally turned 18yr and is now eligible.

When we were on the Triumph 5 night in Dec, they didn't have the Legends show.

I pray that the Magic does.

    We board next Sunday!!!

    Thank you![/quote']

We just got off the Magic about 2 weeks ago. I hope it works out for your daughter. It was the last night at 10:15.

  3. Our designated time was 12-2, we got there around 12. It was in Gaveston, we've been on another Carnival out of Galveston and lots of cruises on lots of lines and this was our first time having to wait for our zone to be called.

We were there waiting to be called when they started the boarding, so it was pretty late for everybody.

  4. We also got a letter before our cruise, but it said something about drills or tests. We arrived at our time, but after going through all the lines we were given boarding zones and had to sit and wait for our zone to be called. We weren't on until about 3:00.

  5. There's a free beach right next to the pier. You rent chairs and umbrellas or I believe they will let you use them if you buy food/drink from their restaurant. There were tons of choices. There are a fair amount of vendors to say no to, but they had cheap massages and drinks.

It wasn't the most beautiful beach/water, but it was perfectly good for us!

  6. I have a young child that goes to bed at 7, I understand not wanting loud neighbors. With that being said, normal noise is unavoidable and part of being in close quarters, so we travel with a really loud fan providing ambient white noise. Hopefully, they'll think of something similar next time.

  7. What did you all end up doing? We are going to Nassau in July -- traveling with my dad (1 month shy of turning a young 88) as well as with my BF and his boys (6 & 18) .. we usually go to the free beach, but that is way too far for dad to walk and besides, he can't be in the sun - has to have shade. We are looking for something fun for everyone, but not a lot of walking is #1. TIA

The pier at Nassau is really long, I would seriously look at a shore excursion through the ship. The busses seemed to pick up right at the ship. I'd verify to be sure that they all do.

  8. Wait - Counsellors will change diapers but won't help them use the bathroom? My son is completely potty trained but I always go with him, help him get on the toilet etc. Are you saying they won't do the same?

We recently got off the Magic, I witnessed the kids lined up for a potty break. The doors are propped open and a counselor was there to manage/help. The bathrooms were in a hall, so we couldn't see in them. I'm under the impression that they would help if necessary.

The potty and sink are kid sized and there are steps tools too, it's very kid friendly. I did a review with pictures on the family board.

  9. Hi, you probably have already gotten the answer to this, but Yes... Seuss at Sea is on the Magic now :) I just was exploring it last night on the Carnival website. I guess the characters might make surprise appearances around the ship, the brunch is $5 per person but looks to be like a great experience, story time, there is a parade where everyone gets a bunch of noisemakers and marches around the ship... I believe it starts with the Camp Carnival (Ocean?) kids and parents are welcome to join... among other things. Sounds like a blast to me. here is a great review with some pictures: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=46426363#post46426363

It starts in the spotlight lounge on deck 5, you March to the lobby and take the stairs down (or elevator if mobility issues or stroller) to the showtime theater on deck 3.

  10. I have a few questions about the Dream. I guess the first question can apply to any ship.

    1) My youngest DD 4 loves to dance, especially with me. I know they have like clubs and things like that. But are there any "dances" that Carnival puts on that can be done as a family.

    2) I know the Pride has a tv screen outside of Camp Carnival that shows the inside of Camp Carnival. Is this just a Pride thing, or does the Dream have it also?

Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Camp Ocean had silly songs and dance time everyday for the kids. We were on the Magic and they also had the screens out front.

  11. We went to the marketplace, all the shops. It was cloudy and started storming. If we went back there this time I would want to check out the beach, can you just go a look at the beach? When I say that I mean, can you go walking on it for a few minutes. Not really looking to make this port a long beach day considering the time frame.

If you want to take a look, I wouldn't enter through the guard stand. Instead, walk over to the hotel lobby and follow the sidewalk around out to the beach.

  12. I thought traveling to kid places with young kids was silly before I had a kid. What I didn't realize was, that even though I didn't remember going to amusement parks at 3, it didn't mean I didn't love it at the time and having those experiences shaped me as I grew. Not to mention the joy it provides to the parents to watch your child have amazing experiences.

  13. The parade was fun, we met in the showtime theater and broke into groups by book titles. We were in the green eggs and ham group. We marched through the ship to the big theater. When we got to the big theater is where we saw some of the characters and the cruise director read the Cat in the Hat to the kids on the stage.

The Dr Seuss brunch is a must, it's $5 per person but it's lots of fun for the kids. The parents ordered steak and eggs-yum, our lo got the cereal crusted French toast, we chose corn flake crusted after reading the warnings of them being too sugary with other flavors. The green eggs and ham look pretty icky, I'd skip the mint green eggs. ;) The kid next to us ordered the pancakes, they are red and normal stacked, he wouldn't touch the red ones. So definitely prepare lo for the different looking food and be prepared to share a table unless you are part of a large group. It's also a good opportunity to take pics. Don't count on the ship photographers. They took lots of pics at the breakfast, but I never saw them up in the gallery, so who knows what happened. I was glad we took our own!

  14. We were just there, the port area had one bar/restaurant, I dont recall the name. They were building a new Harley Davidson type one, but it didn't look real close to opening. There were some souvenir shops, but nothing special.

Maybe seeing what the offered shore excursions are will give you some ideas to explore on your own.
