  1. I booked some excursions for an upcoming cruise when I was on my last cruise. They were added to my booking confirmation. They cost more than the OBC I had available but I did not pay anything at that time. I have since then booked one more excursion and that cost was added to my final payment. This has been since May and all of the booked excursions still show on my account. I make the final payment for the upcoming cruise and excursions next week.

  2. On our Booking Confirmation Copy #8 of February 2023, the two cruises were b2b with the correct OBC on each and deposits for each. In March the booking for the second cruise along with everything else disappeared. Not so funny, the first cruise still shows additional OBC for b2b. Azamara is supposedly still working to fix the problem.

  3. Up until the last month, we have recommended Azamara to everyone. We have cruised exclusively on Azamara for almost 10 years, taking 2-3 cruises a year. Now Azamara cannot find one of our bookings that was part of a b2b nor our deposit of $1,100. Furthermore, we have been told through our TA that Azamara has said we do not get any extra OBC for the b2b because the two cruises were not booked at the same time. What we cannot figure out is why some people have no problems, some have problems that are quickly resolved, and some have problems that have gone on for months.

  4. I have stayed away from reading the comments on this topic for my own sanity. As I and my TA try to fix a problem with one booking, Azamara's solution is to combine it with another cruise booking--they are b2b--and charge me more, change the final payment day, and throw out half of the OBC. In someone's wisdom, rather than fix the problem with one cruise, they have entangled it with another cruise that was correct so that now I have two cruise bookings that are wrong.

They would be my first choice, but it's hard to guess their future dates because they switch between the 7-nt and 10-nt itineraries on the same ship.  Azamara only does 7 nights, and it looks like it's always Thurs-Thurs – so that's what I'm pencilling in on my plans.  If Scenic works out, I'd love to do their 10-nt.

I don't think you meant "Azamara" only does 7 nights. I like the idea of go on a river cruise after cruising with Azamara. Never having done a river cruise, I am curious to know if any of the river cruise companies are like the Azamara experience.

  6. Before COVID, I enjoyed attending the M&Ms. There was always a crew member, often the Cruise Director, that would be in charge. The last one I remember had so many people signed up for that it was held in the Cabaret. The last ones I have been to, all in the library, have been poorly attended with no one in charge, and no appearance by a crew member. People sit around and talk to people they already know.

  7. Today I have received two notifications from Azamara reminding me that a payment is due soon on an upcoming reservation. Payment isn't due until September 6th. This is the first time I have I have ever received this kind of notification from Azamara. I booked the cruise through my TA. Is this the "new" Azamara?

  8. The Azamara website says to fill out the Future Bookings & Loyalty Support Form if one's Current Tier Points and/or Points is incorrect as shown on the Azamara website. Does anyone know where to find this form?

  9. On our last cruise, while waiting for Prime C to open, we visited the Atlas Bar to see what it was like. There were only two people in there at the time and we took a seat in the corner by the door to wait a few minutes. We didn't order drinks and were made to feel very unwelcome. We don't need a place like that.

Although I have cruised with Azamara several times (Discoverer Plus), I only recently became aware of the advantages of booking future cruises on board. I will soon be embarking on an Azamara cruise and have another one booked (through my TA) for April 2024.  Is there any reason why I could not cancel my 2024 cruise and rebook it on my upcoming cruise? I realize that there is some risk of my preferred type of cabin not being available and would probably not attempt this if the risk is significant.

I recall being told that a cruise booked through your TA could only be cancelled through your TA. The Future Cruise staff onboard cannot cancel your cruise.

  11. We usually eat dinner at the Patio several times during a cruise. We live in a part of the country where eating outside is a treat. The service is always good. The menu is simple but with enough choices. We can always get something from the buffet--kind of mix and match.

  12. This is not the only cruise that is being shortened. We received a similar letter for the Wine and Culture cruise on the Quest sailing on 9/3/24 ending in Lisbon. Azamara customer service has said that there will be a new cost for the cruise but would not know until today.

  13. Agree with previous two comments. Newbies to Azamara need to know that there are people to fix problems with rooms, with food service, with wi-fi, etc. And, one does not always get the solution they want. There are still supply issues all over the world. On our last cruise, our light switch did not work properly. Our cabin attendant discovered this, and it was fixed temporarily because they were waiting for a part. Thank goodness it stuck in off because it stopped working a few days later again.

The only problem with powder when I used one of Onward’s machines 2 weeks ago was the front of the dispenser drawer was clogged up with used  powder and I had to use paper towels to wipe off before adding my  powder.

Yes, that is a problem. Some people do not realize that about a half of the scoop works just fine.

  15. The Onward did run out of capsules. I asked. Passengers are not supposed to use their own laundry soap. Only the ship's provided soap. If the clothes were that wet when coming out of the washing machine, the washing machine was not working right and needed to be fixed. Sometimes the spin cycle stops working and the machine needs to be recalibrated or whatever the crew does to fix the machines.

Well, I certainly don’t see how that will be happening!

It is a ship excursion. We dock at 6 am. We've done this excursion once before and enjoyed it so much, we are doing it again.

I have question about Azamara shore excursions.  We booked several online for an upcoming cruise.  Nowhere in the description could I find what times the excursions would be, although there was "duration" information.  After we booked, the shore excursions appeared on our calendar along with their times.  Would these be the only times that these excursions will be available or does Azamara just assign passengers to an excursion time?

One of our excursions turned out to be 7 AM to 12:30 PM.  This seems unreasonably early given that the ship will be in port until 6 PM.  Also, several other excursions that we booked are at inconvenient times.  Can we change the times without losing the excursions? If so, how?  And how do we find out what other times might be available?

The excursions only happen at the times listed. Sometimes there is more than one of the same excursion with different start times, but not usually. We have one booked at 6:30 am on a future cruise.

  18. We did this a year ago. Purchased tickets in advance for entry time that would give us plenty of time to explore before joining line to enter palace. Bus left us off in parking lot adjacent to fortress. I remember that one of the bus passengers had to convince the driver to take us to Alhambra. All was good after that.

  19. We got off the Onward yesterday. This was our 12th Azamara cruise and 3rd Azamara cruise since Covid. We may not be your typical Azamara cruisers, but we feel comfortable on the Azamara ships and like the itineraries. We ate at Windows, The Patio, Discoveries and Prime C. The service was good to great. We were pleasantly surprised to find the service in Discoveries much better than on previous cruises. We have heard the destination lecturer on multiple cruises. All of his presentations follow a formula that I find boring while my husband finds interesting. We have certainly heard much better ones on Azamara in the past. We could have sat for hours listening to the other special interest lecturer. We would love to take a class from him. The Cameron Family and Scott Harris, a comedian, were very good. We saw all of the shows in the Cabaret. The CD, we believe, did a good job filling in for Eric. There was no Assistant CD, so he was doing two jobs with a full ship. Customer Service was much better than previous cruises. They took care of issues promptly. All of the crew were friendly and helpful and addressed me by name when I saw them. Every crew member we talked to had had previous contracts with Azamara and had ones in the future. They were happy with Azamara.
