  1. I struggled with this a few months ago. I finally contacted Celebrity (via Twitter) to ask why my 2 attempts at uploading the Covid Pass was not accepted. They looked into it for me and explained the first one I uploaded was 'a bit fuzzy', so presumably I had moved when taking the photo, and my second attempt had glare from a screen I was taking the photo from. It was suggested I print out the Covid Pass and upload a photo of that. It was then accepted, and I had the printed copy to show at the port if necessary.

    Good Luck.

Suggest you go to the existing thread on PUP points.  Over 200 pages.

I get what you are saying as there is already a thread about PUP. But it would be nice if someone could advise the poster rather than wading through over 200 pages and possibly not finding the info. Good luck.

You are getting people giving US rules.  The rules in the UK are very different.   Hopefully someone IN THE UK can give the correct answer.

I am in the UK, and the information I quoted earlier in this thread was directly from the Celebrity UK website.  There seems to be two reasons that the OP is entitled to a full refund, explained in the links below. Both links are from UK website. Whether the rules are different on the US website, I do not know.

  4. I have been comparing other cruise lines as I think Celebrity are pricing me out after being a loyal cruiser for years. I note that Princess are offering their Princess Plus package (Beverage package, WiFi and Gratuities) for £40 a day, and only £30 a day if booked by 31st May. That seems a bargain when you consider that the new price for a Classic Bev Package with Celebrity has increased to £66 per day.

Celebrity has always been my cruise line of choice, but after my October cruise on Silhouette I may need to start looking elsewhere if their prices keep rising.

Wow, we had the exact same experience on the Reflection last week! After the first 2 nights if terrible service, i.e., not getting drinks, 1 hour for entree, no dessert, we decided to eat 7 out of 10 nights in the buffet! We only went back for lobster night. And same excuse you heard, short staffed! We loved the buffet staff, and food options much better than in the main dining room! Not sure who's making the calls now for the menu, but we didn't like the choices at all! 5 years ago on the Equinox, we loved it!

Sorry, off topic (Premium drinks) but just to say I had the same experience on Reflection beginning of this month. Even with a long wait for food, it was difficult to get served drinks on many occasions. As for the MDR menu the choices were awful. Many nights I struggled to find anything I wanted as such strange things were put together. As I have never had such a problem before I assume the menu is created by the chef? I hope the chef on my Silhouette cruise in October will produce a more appetising choice of food for the MDR.

  6. I noticed all the usual items I remembered from previous cruises were not for sale on board Reflection this month, toiletries etc. I mentioned it to a member of staff in the shop and they said it is now in Duty Free!! But when he led us there he needed to open a cupboard and that is where things were, not on display. Not sure what else was in that cupboard, but I saw tooothpaste, sweets etc. So maybe some basic meds? Indigestion etc. I wish I had taken more notice now.

We are currently on Reflection and first time as Elite and we have seen nothing. I had no idea that we had to use our free 90 minutes if WiFi before the package. Also had no idea we had priority tendering. My husband and I both said that they should explain to first time elite passengers what we have. I knew that we had a free bag of laundry, but not clue how to even do it. Guess we learn for our next cruise.

I was on Reflection 2nd May sailing. All the Captain's Club information was in the cabin on arrival. This may seem a silly question, but as you are newly Elite, just check your Key Card to see that it is noted for you.

I found the Captain's Club Hosts were very on the ball and kept us updated with any events we could attend, including a visit to the Heli-pad for an arrival and a sail-away. We had numerous messages left on the stateroom phone to remind us too.

We had lovely breakfasts in Tuscan Grill, and a couple of cocktail parties too. Didn't bother with the laundry as I had overpacked, as usual. Try to find the Captain's Club Hostess and enjoy the benefits as they are gradually dwindling away. Have fun 😎🍸😀

While it may take upwards of 15 minutes, can you not back into the price, generally, as we know what the daily pricing is gratuities, internet and beverage package? Or is there something which I have not considered in the calculation which you are seeking?

    bon voyage

I usually spend quite a while choosing between several possible itineraries before booking a cruise, so like I said I like to see it in black and white, rather than refer back to my notes made from a phone call. Especially as I know that Celebrity themselves do not always get it right first time. If I was just looking at one cruise I think a phone call would not be so bad.

My cruise last week, and my upcoming one, were both booked before AI, after being lifted and shifted a few times. I had the Classic Bev package and found I managed okay with just the Elite 90 minutes WiFi, so know I do not necessarily need that. Just the gratuities to add on.

Maybe I missed this in the many posts across the board: If you arrive in Italy a week before you cruise and tested prior to that arrival, is there another test for boarding?

There is no need to test prior to entering Italy. Celebrity require a negative test 2 days before boarding for a cruise.

It depends how you interpret what it say's on the web site "within 1 day prior to sailing" to me "within" means exactly that, within 24 hours. So for example if you test at 8am the previous day (which we originally planned to do at Heathrow) by the time we board at 11am it's outside a one day timeframe. I may be being pedantic here, it's my legalist head kicking in, but clarity would be useful as non of us want to arrive at the dock only to be told our test is out of date.

    From Celebrity FAQ's:

How do I calculate which days I may take my pre-cruise COVID-19 test?

When calculating which days you can take your test, be aware that the day you set sail is not counted as one of the days, unless the country of embarkation stipulates that the test be taken within 24 hours of arrival.

For example, if you are setting sail on a Saturday, and you are required to test 3 days before your sailing, you can take your test on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday; and for 2 days in advance, you can take the test Thursday or Friday.

To learn more about which types of tests are accepted, visit our Accepted COVID-19 Test webpage.

When Celebrity announced the protocols for Europe cruises Italy was 1 day prior for testing. Has been like that since the beginning. I would love for it to change to 2 days so we can test before we leave the US and be good for the cruise. If it doesn’t change, which I doubt it will in the next 2 weeks, we will test in the US and then 15 hours later test again in Rome.

It was definitely 2 days originally, knowing Celebrity, they probably just got it wrong.

I had an email from Celebrity on 7th April with the checklist for my upcoming cruise on 2nd May. It stated "present a negative Antigen or PCR test conducted within two days of boarding the ship." Myself and several others also, booked tests to meet this requirement only to find when a second email arrived on 14th April that the requirement had changed to 1 day prior to boarding.

Luckily I had not paid for the tests I booked, but others were not so lucky. I waited another week to see if it would change again before cancelling and rebooking tests.

You do realize you can just order the standard Filet…….and eat 1/2 of it?……or share it?…..or tell the waitstaff you want the Filet but just cut it in 1/2 if you are worried about waste?……I just found the title and phrase ‘Kids Filet Mignon’ to be kind of funny…don’t you???

    den

Of course that would be straight forward - but a standard fillet is not included on the regular MDR Menu!!

So far just 3 or 4 cases onboard. One with very mild symptoms and the rest (group) are asymptomatic. I was told all crew are out of deck 6 now so pax are isolating on that deck.

That is good to hear. Hopefully deck 6 will be very under-used. But a much better prospect for anyone unlucky enough to face quarantine due to Covid. I am sailing May 2nd, so also following this thread.

No I was on the Reflection last month and there was no social distancing then. I'm actually on the Carnival MardiGras right at this moment and there's no social distancing on Carnival either. We're doing a b2b and the cruise that just ended had 5,800 passengers!

Thanks, I did think the website was out of date. It is describing how it was when I was on Silhouette last year.

Enjoy your current cruise, My daughter sailed MardiGras in February and loved it. There were not so many on board at that time, but it is such a huge ship!!.

  15. I will be on board May 2nd, and interested in how social distancing is currently. This is an answer from the FAQ on Celebrity website:

"Seating in public spaces such as dining venues, theatres and pool decks will be spread out, and elevators will be limited to no more than four guests or one travel party at a time."

This is how it was when I cruised last year, is it how it is now, or is the website out of date?

Hi there just reading all the information on how to do this i need to do this 2 days before i sail and have it observed in a pharmacy, i have looked at boots that are near me they are not doing the rapid antigen test, the nearest one to me doing it is about 1 hour away. I am a up to date guest, confused with the different tiers, so if you are a unvaccinated guest you get it done at the terminal. If so could i get it done at the terminal as well even if i am a up to date guest. It does not help i have to work that weekend which makes it so much harder. Any advice from fellow cruisers would be great and thank you.

Not sure where you are based. You mention Boots and I know they are based in several countries. If you are in the UK another option is Lloyds pharmacy. They do pre-booked tests in store, they provide a certificate, and can be booked online.

The requirements are different depending on the embarkation port, so it is difficult to advise. But tests Celebrity do at the terminal are at a cost ($55) plus more tests during the cruise, also charged for. I have read that guests have asked if they can be tested at the port and told this is not available for 'up to date' passengers. Good luck, it will be worth it 😎

  17. I had an email from Celebrity some weeks ago concerning my Reflection 2nd May cruise, finishing 13th May concerning changes to the itinerary. The only changes were arrival and departure times in ports. Nothing major. But of importance to anyone who may have booked independent tours ashore. Hopefully yours will be similar small changes.
