  1. Does anyone know if Seabourn are planning on “included” shore excursions?

I was checking Source for excursions on a cruise which visits Cherbourg in France and two of the excursions were marked as $0 - included. All of the other excursions for the cruise had a regular price. Those two now also have a price but wondered if this was Seabourn accidentally giving a preview of something they may experiment with?

I wouldn't want to be accused of opening the door to the the issue of whether or not one could bring an owl on board, but I find this whole thread to be an absolute hoot. I'm amused by the way people are going bats about the the poor  little doggie, but do recall how many posters agree that the Colonnade can be a zoo. I remain grateful that Seabourn are not yet marketing any  zebra crossings.

Hope I meet Fido on board one day and get their take on some of their fellow passengers ….

  3. Hi Flaming June

Sorry you’ve had such a roller coaster ride.  We haven’t been notified of another change yet. I actually liked the new itinerary and for various reasons would be very happy to never see Yangon again. But.    We’ll wait and see....

One good thing - after  talking to Seabourn and our TA we are still having our stay in lovely Singapore and then flying out from there to Colombo on the 13th.

  4. We’ve also travelled on all three classes and have enjoyed them all.  We were on the Ovation last year and didn’t find it crowded at all even though it was pretty much at capacity. We liked most of the layout changes a lot, particularly liked the TK Bar and the sushi restaurant . The suite didn’t feel noticeably smaller. The retreat was however empty every time we peeked, the tables were too close together in the TK Grill and we didn't like the new unmanned Colonnade island layout very much.  On balance we thought it was on equal footing with the O class and will very happily join it in Singapore next month.

  5. We were on this cruise this year and then stayed on for the first Alaska cruise of the season. We thoroughly enjoyed the first leg - it was a great group of passengers. The ports were few but interesting. Weather was mixed. Freezing in Aomori but beautifully sunny in many ports. The sea days were well managed - plenty to do if you were so inclined. Repairs were annoying but didn’t spoil the cruise. Would recommend this itinerary.

The second leg highlighted for us the different atmosphere between a longer less port-intensive and a shorter hectic cruise - still fun but different crowd entirely and less time to get to know people.

  6. I still wonder why the line has to align to a celebrity chef. It is so limiting. The menu is so repetitive and no better than the mdr. Snooty in the Grill and so contrived with the jeans in the Colonnade. Bad enough on one cruise but worse on subsequent cruises when the menu has not changed at all.

  7. I don't know where you would fill in the name for something not on the list. The only blank space I see is for comments, and if I fill in the name of something that is not listed, it says my updates are saved, but then it is not there when I look again. However, I am not that worried because we have always been able to get anything we wanted that was not listed from our stewardess when we board.

This has been our experience as well. I think, as the list is quite limited, it must be a common occurrence
