  1. We are staying at the Hampton Inn airport location on 28th Ave. We would like to leave for the port early. What would be the least expensive way to get 4 adults and luggage to the port? Also where could we get some soda to take onto the ship? Is there any place close to the hotel? Any advice for a close by place to eat in the evening?

  2. This is our first time to Alaska. We sail August 30th. Do we need to pack winter coats? Hate to take up space if we don't need them. Also will we be able to get normal TV stations like CBS? Are formal nights as dressy as on a caribbean cruise?

  3. Going on the Ruby the end of August, and wondering about the tour of Seattle that's offered after the cruise. Did you enjoy it? Does the price include going up in the space needle, or is that extra. I heard it costs $20 a person if you just go on your own.

  4. Sailing the Ruby Princess end of August. We are staying in Seattle the day we return and would like to see some of Seattle as we've never been there. The ship is offering a 4 hr. tour, but not sure if this is our best bet or not. Has anyone done this or can recommend another option. If we do this we still have most of the afternoon and evening free, so wondering how to best use our time. We get around well, but are unable to do a lot of walking.

  5. We would like to do the Seattle City Tour through Princess after departing our cruise. It goes to Space Needle and Pike Place market. It's a 4 hour tour from 9 am to 1 pm ending at the airport. Our flight got changed to 3:05 pm. It says it's available to those whose flights leave after 3:30. Has anyone done this? Is it too risky?
  6. Our flight doesn't leave Seattle until 5pm at the end of our cruise on the Ruby. We are thinking of doing the city tour through Princess. How would we handle our luggage. I think we travel on a bus for 4hrs. Do they still offer EZ Pass, where you send checked luggage ahead? What is the cost? Does anyone know of any private tours that would be less expensive? We want to do the space needle and the market.

  7. This is our first time in Seattle and we are sailing on the Ruby Princess out of pier#91.

We've cruised a lot and this should be easy, but I'm very confused. We will get into Seattle around 7:00 pm. We need to find hotel that's clean with good beds, and we need to figure out how to get to the hotel and port the next morning. Is it best to stay near airport or cruise port? We have a late flight the day we return, so hopefully we can see a few things that day.

There is four of us traveling together and I'm also confused when I see cab fare if it's per person or for all.

  8. Just booked the Ruby for a 7 day cruise out of Seattle. I have lots of questions!

Which port does the Ruby use? Should I book a hotel near the port or airport.

What is the best way to get there taxi, shuttle, etc.?

We have a B2 balcony on Caribe deck. Do these have larger balconies?

Do they have internet that is unlimited, or do you purchase minutes?

Any thoughts as far as hotel that would maybe provide shuttle service?

  9. I usually like to book airfare directly through the airline. This time the best rate is through Expedia. The reason being I need to fly out on Delta, and back on United. Can anyone see a problem with doing this?

  10. Just found a good buy on this cruise for end of August. Never been to Alaska and I know this will not be as nice as doing land and sea, but thought it might give us a taste of what's there for a trip later on. It does Tracy Arm Fjord instead of Glacier Bay. I think I would have preferred the other, but wondering from those who have done both what you think.

The Grand does Glacier Bay for $500 per person more. I,m not sure if it would be worth it.

This cruise is round trip Seattle.

  11. We are planning to do a Panama Canal cruise this coming year. Princess is our favorite cruise line, so hoping to book with them. I would like to know what the best time is for this cruise. Also which ship is best. It used to be the Coral Princess. Is this still the favorite?

If this is still the favorite, I know nothing about this class. What would be your preferred cabin? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

  12. We used to always bring our favorite soda on board by putting a cabin tag on it and leaving it with the porters. Now I'm reading where you are suppose to, not only carry it on, but have it in a carry-on bag. That means when we leave we have this extra bag to take home. Has anyone had success leaving it with porters? We are sailing Oasis out of Ft. Lauderdale.
