  1. Has anyone checked out this itinerary for March 2018? Unlike 14 day cruises I have seen in the past, it does not come back to Ft. Lauderdale and just do two 7 day cruises back to back. It has some new island stops too that look awesome like Martinique & Trinidad! I am watching the prices for this gem. Any thoughts?

We booked the Oct 7th 2017 Circle Caribbean as soon as it was available to book. Love the fact that it does a true 14 day cruise. Hope these cruises sell very good.

  2. Thanks for the replies so far. I would not want to be under the pool area or above or below late night clubs. I have been inside on a couple of cruises when I have wanted to watch my dollars. I was hoping that there would be some cabins that were odd shaped and maybe a little more room. I'll check the different deck plans on the Caribbean Princess.

Another option would be an obstructed ocean view cabin on Deck 8 IMO. Those cabins would cost a little bit more but the sq ft is 179 sq ft instead of the inside being around 162 sq ft . Exception being the Riviera Deck with only 6 cabins at 182 sq ft under the pool area as already mentioned.

You would need to pick which cabin on Deck 8 since the Promenade Deck is below you with some entertainment venues there. Looks like mid-ship Port side may be your best location IMO. Look at the deck plans to make your decision on the best area for you.

  3. The soda card is limited to "gun" soda only - no cans - and has a limited selection. I have taken my own soda aboard as I wanted diet Mountain Dew with is definitely not available onboard. I think they only have Coke products (Dew is a Pepsi product).

Lots of people take their own soda onboard. There is no limit other than how much hassle you want to incur with the luggage aspect of the soda. When I've taken any at all I only took a small amount.

We bring our Diet Mountain Dew too.

  4. We like the itinerary better on the Caribbean Princess. Have been on both the Regal and Caribbean Princess ourselves, we tend to like the Regal Princess more. However the itinerary is what would make us personally book the eight day cruise.

Have a great cruise whichever one you choose.

  5. You'll be fine when you disembark in the morning. The biggest impediment to traffic is when the bridges over the New River and the Intracoastal (not the 17th Street Bridge BTW) are raised for a few hours. For folks who will be in town in the afternoon and evening of the 10th the tentative schedule for those bridges is:

    7TH AVENUE BRIDGE

    Bridge Up: 6:20PM; Close: 8PM

    FECI RAILROAD BRIDGE

    Bridge Up: 4:30PM; Close: 9PM

    ANDREWS AVENUE

    Bridge Up: 6PM; Close: 8PM

    3RD AVENUE BRIDGE

    Bridge Up: 6PM; Close: 8PM

    LAS OLAS BOULEVARD

    Bridge Up: 7PM; Close: 9PM

    SUNRISE BOULEVARD

    Bridge Up: 7:20PM; Close: 9:30PM

    OAKLAND PARK BOULEVARD

    Bridge Up: 7:40PM; Close: 10PM

    COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD

    Bridge Up: 8PM; Close: 11PM

The Boat Parade is at night and you will be disembarking in the morning.

Where are you going after you disembark?

Thank you both for this information. We was not sure if people that wanted to arrive very early would impact the area earlier in the day even though the Parade occurs at night.

After we disembark, hopefully Pier 2, we will be going to Fl Turnpike heading North so looks like we should be ok regarding any traffic for that early in the day.

Thanks again for your info ;) !

  6. I've used United Airport parking twice. The rates are unbeatable. The parking is at Embassy Suites on 17th in the back, outdoor lot. Which is really crazy because if you book Embassy, stay, and want to keep your car there they charge you almost three times the price for parking then United and cars are side by side.

When you book, you'll get a confirm number. When you pull into Embassy, you give the confirm to the Valet and they will either park you car or you can self park, (my preference). The shuttle is right in front of the lobby and is an Embassy Suite shuttle or and unmarked. Getting going from there is quick and painless. Basically load and go, that has been my experience traveling with four.

Returning there is a wait time. After clearing customs, you have to call them. I think it is one of the Valet's cell phone. Tell them you need a pickup at whatever terminal. The first time we waited about 15-20 minutes. The second time was closer to 45 minutes. Both times were out of Terminal 2. The excuse was that someone didn't show up for work that morning..

I definitely would use them again despite the wait times for a 5 min ride. There is also info in this section under Embassy Suites parking if you're interested.

    Hope this helps

We used the parking lot at the Embassy Suites on 17th St earlier this year and the attendant told us they was Valet only as noted on their website. We told him no that the reservation receipt also said self-park. He did eventually let us self-park our car. Totally agree that this is a great place to park but if they enforce the Valet parking, no way will we give our car keys to anyone.

We are looking at the Renaissance Hotel parking garage as an alternate to Embassy parking. Until we saw this parking garage location, we was going to park at Port Everglades but with the cruise being 14 days in duration, the Port would be $210 with the Renaissance garage being $79.55 .

Our prior experiences with United Airport Parking has been fine. If anyone else has used this particular facility, would like to hear your feedback.

    TIA :)

  7. Lots, including DH, went to the Happy Hour and bought 6 bottles (or more). The bartenders were putting them unopened in the buckets to carry back to their rooms for another time. Really turned out to be a popular choice. And you aren't limited to the bucket brand offered at some bars. And since there are two happy hours a day, you could "fill up" quite often. (3-4 and 9-10) And yes you can carry bottles to other public spots to drink. Including the MDR. Just ask for a glass. And don't forget to pack a bottle opener.

    Good to know, thanks.

  8. When my husband and I saw the January 13, 2018 itinerary several months ago, we discussed it for 30 seconds and booked it! What a great cruise! We told a couple of friends about it the next day and they, too, booked it immediately. I imagine that these cruises will sell out early.

We booked the Oct 7, 2017 14 day the first day the cruise was offered. Being a true 14 day cruise plus the itinerary sealed the deal for us. Hopefully these cruises do sell very well so Princess continues to offer them.

  9. Thanks - just refared! Savings of $200 plus $300 OBC and pre-paid gratuities!

We re-fared our 14 day cruise for a total saving of $722.60. Saved $60 on the cabin, $362.60 on prepaid gratuities & $300 on board credit. Best 10 minutes we have spent on the phone :D ! Thanks to MCC RETIRED for the advanced info.

  10. With how often people posted about it, I expected it to drive me nuts on the Royal. It only even registered a couple times to me - and I'm sailing on the Royal again because I loved it that much.

During our cruise on the Regal Princess, we had a mid-ship cabin and not having a central staircase was not a problem. We do like to use the stairs when they are available.
