  1. I am booked on Royal Princess for April 28, 2015 Eastern Caribbean cruise. Suddently, on the Princess site, this cruise is showing "no pricing avaialble" which is what happened when Ruby was suddenly shifted to Alaska. Does anyone know if Royal is going to cancel the April 28 cruise? Thanks

We were going to book this cruise also, was waiting till we were on our March cruise to put the deposit down while on the Ruby. The Ports were the ones we wanted to see too. Hope they have another ship do the same itinerary.

  2. Just off Ruby B2B. New band came on board - Liquid Blue. Best party band I've heard at sea. Incredible variety: Abba, Pink, Michael Jackson, Eagles, KC Sunshine Band, Stevie Wonder, Daft Punk, Reba, Bee Gees, Santana, Blondie, and Much More. 7 member band with 4 vocalists. Dance floor was always full. The guitarist and bassist ocassionally ventured into the audience to play. A lot of fun.

Will be on into March. Then will transfer to Princess Asia itinerary.

    Enjoy!!

Thanks for the info ............. sounds great, will they still be onboard during the entire month of March ? We will be sailing on March 20th, hope they are still there !

  3. I am elite so have not paid much attention to the cost of internet usage. Does anyone know what a bundle would cost on Princess. I have a friend traveling for the first time and she asked me--I could not help but I told her you folks would. I have done a search and did not find any information on Princess.

We found this on the Princess web site:

  4. That was a real treat to see what it was like back in the day -- even just from the 70's, so much has changed. I wonder how many passengers were aboard?

Thanks ever so much for taking time to share these wonderful glimpses into the past.

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

The total passengers was 420 & 12,218 Tonnage, a big difference from the "Mega" ships of today.

  5. For an 11 night cruise, the FCC OBC is $75 if you book an inside or outside cabin, and $100 for balcony, mini-suite and full suite

Ok, $100 per person deposit & $100 per person OBC when purchased on board if we are understanding this correctly? We will be on the Ruby during March so it will be better if we do this onboard than book from home for our next cruise ? We will be having a balcony cabin btw. Thanks in advance for any info.

  6. A simple one-dollar bill tucked into the signature holder for each and every order has always resulted in the best of service in both delivery and in pourings.

Agree with that comment. Each cruise we have been on, first day on the ship, we will talk to the bartender and see if he or she will be working that bar & which other bar they work at later. We tip cash for the first drink(not every drink) and if they are very, very busy, the bartender will "see"us & get what we want without waiting. Does make the turnaround time from no drink to having drink much quicker. Our comment cards always mention the people who give great service.

  7. The Ruby is a nice ship :) For me, I'm looking at getting deeper into the Caribbean. I want Barbados, Antigua, Dominica, St. Kitts, Grenada, the ABC Islands, St. Lucia, etc. But those are decent 7 day itineraries for a little east/west trip for sure!

Those are the islands we want to go to plus Trinidad. Princess does have a cruise with those ports departing late Dec and ends after New Years. It is a Holiday cruise ........... we are unable to get off work that time of year. Wish that Princess would have more cruises like this one offered different times of the year. BTW, it departs FLL on the Ocean Princess for a 14 day cruise on Dec 19,2014. Would book it in a second if they had another one during another time of year :D !

  8. I pre-ordered the beer package this morning. What I find really strange though, is she said all that will be in the cabin is a card saying I bought the package. Then I still have to have the room stewart bring me the type of beer I want. Weird. Why could I not tell her what I wanted and have it in ice waiting for me when I got to the cabin? Oh well, will just order what I want as soon as we can get in the cabin tomorrow. I just found that really different not to be able to have a pre-ordered package in the cabin and ready for you when you arrive.

We agree with you that it should be in the stateroom when you arrive & ready to go. Nice to have a couple while unpacking & talking about the days ahead. Strange they have it this way.

  9. We arrived last week Saturday around 930ish. We presented our confirmation letter and we were escorted to select a place for the day. Carlos was our server and he was outstanding.

Lunch was not offered until around 1130ish, but the drinks start the moment you arrive.

The Food- I am in Austin,TX so I had mixed feelings about the food. But it was ok, somethings I didn't care for. I am a very picky eater.

There are other servers that come around and ask if you want a massage or rent any water toys. I got a massage for 30 min for $40, I paid her $75 she was AWESOME!!!!!!

When you arrive they take your picture and right before you leave they offer it to you for $12, we love the picture so we purchased it.

If you are looking for a few hours of peace and quiet this is the place for you.

Thanks for your review ....... is there music by the bar area to listen to & are taxis waiting to take you back to the ship?

  10. #2 is the easiest as it is closest to 17th St. Easy in; easy out for passengers. If of course they use that entrance. #29 is the most awful area you can get. Hardly ever used. If there is only one Princess ship in port, then guaranteed at numero dos. When there are two big ones, it's a crapshoot. If you leave your car at one area and the ship doesn't return there, they will shuttle you to the garage.

Thanks Pia for the shuttle info if that happens to us. Was wondering what to do if we dock in another location from where we embarked at.
