  1. awesome. thanks for the info. Has anyone purchased the t-shirts, coolers, etc and ended up not liking the purchase because the material is bad or whatever?

About 2 years ago, I ordered the cooler bag with the 4 beers. It was in the cabin when I boarded the ship. Only thing was they did not have it on ice & had to run up to Lido to get it filled. Other than that, I still use that same bag today, at home & always take it back to the ship to use there. It has been an excellent purchase.

  2. Ooooh Fantasy Fest is an absolute blast!!

Totally agree.......... we were there last year for 7 fun-filled nights :D:D!

Forgot to add, I did the Bar Crawl with Kokomo Joe a couple of years ago, had a fantastic time. However, since I am on the mailing list, they emailed me saying that they were no longer going to be in business anymore. Think the owner was retiring per the email. Not sure when the last Crawl will be, if I remember right think it said sometime in August.

  3. I have been to Jamaica many times, either by cruise ship or land-based vacation at an all-inclusive resort. Booked excursions via the cruise ship & never had any problems. The vendors at Dunns River Falls were very pushy as I remember it. I just said no & everything was ok.

On my land-based vacations, once at the AI resort, I just stayed there since I had seen the island during my cruises there. Of course, there was this guy in a boat near the beach wanting to sell you pot, but he never got that close to the resort property.

We will be in Jamaica in August via the Caribbean Princess, will report back when we return how it was.

  4. That's awesome!! Kinda wish it was still like that, as that's my style, but this is a cool photo. Thanks for sharing!!

Our style also ................ like having drinks in a place like that :). Thanks for the picture.

  5. We have read the reviews of other people that have done this tour & they love it. From what they say you only get 1 shot at each of the 4 bars, then you have to pay for the rest & food also. If you search CC & Trip Advisor & You Tube, you will get a better idea. Also go to Cozumel Bar Hop dot com for that info.

At $69 for 7 hours for your excursion that you mentioned, sounds like a better deal since so much more is included.

  6. I ordered a 12 pack of water & was not in my cabin when I got there probably because I am Platinum and was in my cabin super early. It was delivered about 3 hours later. When you order any item from the Fun Shops, you can choose the day it is to be delivered but not the time.

  7. Stabilizers are only used at sea. In confined areas, and docking,

    they are retracted.

Sometimes if the ship is running late, the ship will run without Stabilizers since they do slow the speed somewhat of the ship & use more fuel. If the Stabilizers are not engaged. you will feel more movement of the ship.

  8. This has been mentioned before, but deserves repeating. The best Princess secret is the embarkation day lunch in one of the main dining rooms. We are just off the Island Princess, Panama Canal full transit.

After the hubbub of embarkation, it was a quiet respite to have lunch in the MDR. When we first arrived it seemed that they weren't serving. There was no one at the host stand, no people to be seen. But we walked further in and a host saw us and motioned us in. There were only a handful of folks eating, tucked back into a corner!

Good food, good service. Great start to a great cruise!

We agree, great way to start a cruise :).

  9. You only get double points on the Carnival card for Carnival line purchases, but the points can be used for multiple lines. You get double the points for Princess on the Princess card, but those points can only be used on Princess.

    Depends on your sailing patterns.

Thanks Loonbeam for that info. That is what I thought since we are Platinum on both Princess & Carnival & also sail on Holland America. We do cruise Princess more nowadays, so the Princess card would yield a better return for us.

  10. My two kids were wondering if the Paradise has ping pong tables? They love to play ping pong over every thing else on the cruise!

I was on the Paradise last month & there was 4 tables, 2 tables on each side on the deck above the Lido deck. Have a great cruise

  11. The Princess credit card is only for Princess cruises ? The reason I ask is because I saw where the Carnival credit card can be used for Carnival, Princess, Holland America & Seabourn. Would it be better to have the Carnival credit card in case you cruise on the other cruise lines? I think the rewards are the same.

  12. We have noticed that the majority of slots now no longer have the coin holder when a person hits on the slot machine. I miss the sound of coins falling down into the tray, then putting the coins into the big bucket & taking the coins to the casino cashier. It is more efficient nowadays the way the slots have evolved from the way it used to be but for some reason that sound was a good exciting sound !

  13. I have been seeing this Ford Commercial while watching HULU.COM and around 12 to 13 seconds into the video, there is a Princess ship behind the Ford Escape when it is driving on the bridge or is my eyes playing a trick on me? Not sure where the ship was, maybe someone here at CC does.

Thought everyone would enjoy seeing it. Hope the link works.

  14. I booked direct with Princess as well & it also has this on my boarding pass - Travel Agency: DIRECT FOR POLAR BEAR

    Kind of cute :)

I was wondering the same thing when Direct for Polar Bears showed up on our boarding passes for the Aug 9th sailing of the Caribbean Princess. First time I have seen that & we have booked via the Princess web site before.

Thanks DENMARKS for finding out why.

  15. We are going to be a group of friends from late 30s to early 40s, traveling on the four day trip to Cozemel from Ft. Lauderdale. Our concerns are that fellow passengers will be much older and mainly a couples cruise. We dont want the Carnival atmosphere, but would like some form of nightlife and a social side of the cruise. Can anyone help with their experiences.

Usually the shorter cruises have a younger group on board which differs from the 10 day & up cruises. We did the Ruby Princess 4 day cruise earlier this year & there was a nice age range during that cruise that you would fit into. Of course, every cruise is different, so yours may differ from what we had.

  16. On Liberty June 20th we didn't have the clamshell. Our room steward told us they have been eliminated. I also had to ask for soap when ours got down to a sliver. It was wafer thin.

No clamshell, only 1 bar of soap on my 5 day Paradise cruise last month. It was always a funny thing that on the last day of the cruise how the clamshell would disappear( at least in my cabins) since they thought we would take them home with us I guess.
