  1. There were 2 crock pots on the table on our last cruise!

I'm cracking up! What in the world would those be for? Who needs meatballs or slow cooker chicken when you have access to food 24/7?

Just imagining what they were going to do with those is comical....

  2. One other thing I forgot to mention is that when you order a drink from the Bionic Bar they still add an 18% tip!!! I was not happy being forced to tip a robot!!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Sheesh....really! It's not like their feelings would get hurt or they would take it personally. lol

Maybe it goes towards the non-robots that keep the bottles stocked and ordering tablets ready and in working order????

  3. We are going in June so hopefully everything will be straightened out by then. I'll be on the lookout for an email from RCCL about dining changes. As long as I track down my lobster tail and key lime pie....I'll be a happy girl! ;)

Thank you for sharing this info with us and congrats on your free cruise. So very jealous.....

  4. It does sound as if the explanation was poorly worded or poorly communicated.

Unless one of your assigned cabins connects to a cabin of exactly the same category, you have a right to be annoyed if that connecting cabin was available at the time you were booking.

If one of your assigned cabins connects to a cabin of a different category, there is really no harm or foul since you didn't want to pay the difference in fare to book what was available in the configuration you wanted.

Edited: It would appear you should not have had issue booking 8135 and 8137 without "paying extra" as they are the same category unless someone else already had 8137. Look at 8181 and 8183... this is a "special connecting cabin" arrangement and could have been what the booking agent meant by "connecting cabins cost more".

It stinks since I will never have a way of knowing if it was available at the time or not. Or even any other same category connecting. It's been a learning lesson for sure!

  5. 8135 and 8137 are the same category. So it may have been the second option I mentioned. That room may have already been booked and the only connecting rooms left were a more expensive category. Or did they specifically say they were talking about 8135 & 8137?

No, she didn't specify a room number at the time...just a generic statement of "connecting staterooms fall under a different category room and are more money." I don't recall the difference in price at the time but it was significant enough to warrant a decline at the time.

  6. When I was booking our Anthem cruise, I ran into the same issue. I needed 4 cabins, preferably near each other and 2 connecting. We have 2 cabins that are connecting cabins (with whoever ends up there) and 2 near by. When I asked if there was anyone booked in the connected rooms, I was told no but it is a different CAT and I would have to pay much more for those rooms. makes no sense to me...

    I agree!

  7. What snippy sarcasm? You booked the cabins, they didn't force them on you. You need to do your homework.

I booked over the phone with a RCCL rep who stated that "connecting staterooms are a different category and would be $___ much more money". I declined to pay that significant price increase and said as long as we were next door to each other.

I later viewed the deck plan and saw one was connecting. The rep did not say "some connecting staterooms are a different category " she said "connecting staterooms are a different category". Period.

This was an error in statement on the end of the RCCL rep.

I'm sorry you are taking my issue so personally.

  8. Many of Anthem's connecting cabins do connect cabins in a different category. Some connecting cabins are within the same category.

If you provide your cabin numbers, it could be validated.

If you are in side-by-side cabins of the same category and the cabin connecting (the one you don't have) is also the same category, there may have been a different reason than the one provided at the time of booking. Or... someone goofed.

    Thank you!

  9. Sometimes rooms connect that aren't in the same category. What are the room numbers.

And there's also the chance that the other people had their room first. So when you were inquiring about connecting cabins they may have been talking about two different cabins.

Thank you....this clarifies it for me. I thought that if a room was connecting it would mean it was the same category. If it connects to a different category then I can understand it. The room numbers are 8133 and 8135.

  10. We had reserved two cabins for Anthem for our upcoming trip in June. When initially making the reservation I inquired about connecting staterooms, but they said it would be a higher price because it was considered a different category stateroom. I declined because the amount of the price difference wasn't worth it so long as we were next door to each other.

Fast forward to today....I was double checking our reservation to check our room numbers and decided to look a the deck plan. I was surprised to see one of our rooms is a connecting stateroom and one isn't....so one of us would be connecting with whoever ends up next door to us.

Figured I would call to inquire if we could have our other room switched to that one and they said no that the ship is all booked up. I asked if we could inquire with those occupants if they would be willing to switch a room with us so we could be connecting and they said that's not permitted.

It's just a little frustrating because they said it was a different category stateroom to begin with and now we have one that is and one that's not.

  11. Heck, I wish I could go on all of them. ;)

Laura has 7 solos on that list.

Someone has to watch the dog.

What a lucky lady! Right now my hubby and I get one in a year. Seems like it takes forever to accumulate enough vacation time for that one. We would love to do two a year right now while we both work but with kids and other responsibilities...our vacation time gets eaten up.

  12. Weren't you happy in your last post?

Each incident is unique and is treated as such.

FWIW, the cruise I mentioned was the Ben and Jerrys Sweet and we rarely had a decent nights sleep due to the door banging below.

It's starting to seem like you're just trying to get some money back.

    Sorry I mentioned my situation

Oh, and I'll bet your 15% in your JS is worth a lot more than my 25% in a PR ;)

John&LaLa - this is totally off subject, but I am extremely green with envy looking at your upcoming cruise schedule. Wondering if you would like to adopt me? I would also be a willing kidnapping victim....whatever works. :p

  13. LOVED your review! I echo everyone else...you did a great job with your details and it made me feel like I was right there with you! I've only been blessed to have been to Coco Cay once and never knew until recently how tough it could be to get to it and back. I'm glad you and Will made it safely.

I'm excited to go back and read your Oasis review....we've yet to go on the Oasis class, but will be trying out the Anthem in June.

  14. Thank you so much for the positive remarks and for doing this while you are on your vacation. So very much appreciated!

One question for you or any other member that may know...when we were on Adventure last year. Everyone was raving about cheesecake pops that were complimentary at Sorrentos.

We are going on Anthem this summer and was wondering if these amazing cheesecake pops will be available on her as well...since we missed out on Adventure. :(

  15. Bedazzler....I missed seeing your post last night that you were supposed to be on GMA and when the segment popped on this morning I was actually looking for y'all. I knew your boyfriend's twitter posts had gotten popular. I'm sorry they snubbed you for the overly dramatic folks. Your perspective would have been nice to have been shown. Wishing you safe flights home!!!! Btw, the fella on GMA insinuating life vests aren't appropriately supplied needs to stop with that mess...and like other poster said....same guy with the meteorologist friend. Ugh!
