  1. Keep an eye out for Jim Zim's indepth review coming soon (it will post under Spaniel Lover).... Worst cruise out of 43.... Once you read his review and pros/cons of ship....You will have a real good idea what your willing to tolerate. He will compare his experience on MSC to the other lines....

Keep in mind though, his review (if you have time to read it), is only one person's opinion.

  2. Thanks for all the tips. :)

I did book a balcony, all the concierge were booked.

We didn't plan anything in Ensenada. Both of us have been there before, and she isn't walking well now.

She is very excited, which makes me happy and excited too. :)

  3. Please contact HAL with your discovery so that they can back track at least the three prior occupants of that cabin. There is a process in place

Glad to know that there is a process in place. I immediately scoured their website to find a process and only found this in the "cruise contract" section:

" . . . You agree thatbaggage or property, including all lost and found items retained by Carrier ordelivered by You to Carrier, which remains unclaimed in writing for more than90 days after Your disembarkation shall be deemed abandoned and the soleproperty of Carrier and you relinquish any claim thereto . . ."

So hopefully the process actually goes a little further back than 3 prior occupants, to cover the 90 days.

And thanks to another helpful suggestion I have also found the drop down menu in the "email us" section that references lost and found and have contacted them.

    Fingers crossed! ;)

  4. I would do what you have done but in the knowledge that a large proportion of people who cruise would never use CC I encourage you to advise HAL. What would you do if you left jewelry in a cabin? Call HAL I suspect. If you let HAL know and give them permission to pass on your email or they give you the owners contact details there is a much better chance the owner will be re-united with their property. HAL may do nothing, but it can't hurt.

Thank you for the suggestion . . . doing this now.

  5. If you or someone that you know lost a piece of jewelry on the Noordam, Cabin 1085, prior to 5/28/17, please message me to describe, or provide your email address and I will contact you.

(For those of you that are going to ask why I did not turn it into the cruise line, let's just say that I knew that I would try harder to find the rightful owner. In a rush, I left a very personal piece of jewelry at a hotel in NYC, never to be seen again. The hotel personnel took no action to help me recover it. I use this to premise that all negative comments will be ignored.)

  6. Just off Noordam and had Signature package from travel agent promo. Tried several times through many different crew members and front desk to upgrade to Elite on first day and was told I could not. So frustrating. I gave up. One night I ordered a glass of wine at dinner only to be told you can't have that one because it is not in your package. "I'll bring you what you can have and you'll like it". Wow!

  7. Hi,

We're new to HAL and have been trying to check-in online, specifically adding flight info, and it is very slow and eventually throws me out and doesn't save information. Hence, I can't complete my online check-in and print doc's.

Anyone else having this problem? Is this typical or a fluke?

    Thanks for any info.

  8. Oh my gosh thanks so much for this post. I was telling my daughter about all the great restaurants that I booked for our Getaway cruise and their fabulous menus . . . and she said "yeah but do they have soft serve?" So glad to be able to report that there will be soft serve to be had. Lol

  9. Do you know when this is typically scheduled?

"generally" the first sea day.... in Cagney's and at either 10 AM or 11 AM for the Getaway... if it isn't posted on the roll call... ask the Concierge.... knows all :p

    Thank you!

  10. Also.. be sure to go to the Cruise Critic M&G... you will meet a lot of the hotel team... and they are awesome! No pressure, just a little get-together hosted by the ship and with them providing brief introductions of the Getaway HD team.....;

  11. Hello all just off the ship and I must say it was fabolous. I had the mango meltdown and it was really good. I didn't get to try the pear pleasure. I brought all the dailies home with me and will answer all your questions. We are at the airport awaiting out 6pm flight. Glad I have a bunch of battery backups. We were in a H5 suite on the 16th floor. Right out the room into the pool area.
