Did you call or just try to do it on the website? You need to either call NCL or your TA to combine the two.
Maybe it was a glitch with the cruise I was looking at - but -
Today was the first day that there was no option to click AARP member (in the section with active/military, what state I live in?) so there was no separate price shown for AARP member on the pricing page.
I've always booked the cruise on the phone when the time comes to actually book it and know that to get the AARP discount and promo, I need to speak with a rep.
-
(Seems like no more AARP discount...)
-
Just tried to make a booking for 2017 and there was no longer an AARP option. (Even tried going by through the "AARP" page on NCL)
In the past, we've been able to combine the 5% off with the dining promo.

I've been trying to figure that out as well.... Supposedly, the square footage is a little bigger but who knows!

We went to quite a few of those places on Vision last September - what sold us on our cruise and what we LOVED, was the overnight in Venice! Even if yours only goes for a day, I'd definitely opt for Venice itinerary!
-
We loved Barcelona and enjoyed two free walking tours, which I'd highly recommend.
-
Enjoy your tour, brennag.
We were in St Petersburg on Monday touring Catherine Palace, Peterhof, Church on Spilled Blood and St Pete Highlights city tour, and Tuesday visiting The Hermitage (early entrance), walking around the city center and taking a boat down rivers and canals. Also had a long evening out on Monday. Excellent! Couldn’t have been better.
Can I ask which tour group you went with? Thanks!

I had noticed that several posts had been deleted (white unmarked vans etc) and I thought it was just my computer! Personally, I had thought they were all interesting information 🤔

Another thanks!
(Although we still haven't decided on which sailing, hope to be getting closer! [emoji85])

You may wish to send an email to rcldining@rccl.com - we had an issue pre-cruise last fall and had good luck sending an email

Interesting! we're currently booked on a mid-September Baltic and was concerned about weather because we may need to push it back 2 weeks to depart 9/28 - while unpredictable, it seems the average is only 2 degrees less ... (I did see there's about 1/2 hour less daylight [emoji41])

Not sure if this answer is helpful to you, but have you checked out Friends of Dave tour?

We're looking at an August 2017 sailing on the Vision - wonder about whether they'll use the closer port then!

Something I noticed on our 2017 9-night sailing is that while the promos may seem the same, for dining anyway, they may have changed the number of dining nights. We happened to book in February when it was 4 dinners on a 9 night sailing, and it recently went to 3. I actually hadn't realized the difference until recently (I keep looking for better deals/promos as well!) and only figured out we were ahead of the game when I calculated the gratuity charge, and realized we got 4 dinners! [emoji39] (changes to the other promos are pretty transparent I think.)

The very best price we ever got was on an RCCL Med cruise which was only offered one day - last April 15 "tax day" - so I'll be checking cruise sites that day! [emoji120]🏼
-
I'd also suggest booking "free walking tours" when possible. We took two in Barcelona and one in Venice and they were great!

Was just about to venture into the world of insides this week with a very very last minute guarantee inside on the Epic at a price so low it would be rude not to take it.
Been checking the edocs every day to watch for the cabin number to appear and today its appeared(3 days to sailaway) Balcony Mini Suite. :D
WOW! Now that's a success story! Enjoy!! [emoji41][emoji267]

Why don't you purchase the Early Boarding for $12.50/pp from southwest? You'll be automatically checked in and have nothing to,worry about. You can pull up,your pass on your phone or at the airport. We find it worth the extra $$ for all our return trips . And you have a good boarding position to boot!
We've flown SW a lot, and we would absolutely pay for Early Bird to avoid the frustration of not being able to check in in a timely manner via the ship Internet. But we like to try to get A seats - if you all don't care about seat location (possibility of C section/middle seats for example), then maybe just a few of you want to splurge for the EB.
Even when we're home, with Internet access, we usually book EB nowadays.

I have a 2017 sailing with Dining promotion, and just looked to see what the new promos are to see if it warranted changing, but can't see the difference...what am I missing?

I had them book air for me twice. The first time was between Boston and L.A. The second was between Boston and Honolulu, with pre & post cruise hotels.
The L.A. flight was same day. Stupid, I know, but work constraints prevented me from leaving earlier. I asked NCL for a non-stop, and they arranged it. Transfers from the airport to the pier were included. Luckily we arrived on time and all was well.
NCL arranged my return flight non stop as well. I was pleased with their bookings of my Hawaiian flights and pre/post cruise hotels.
Do you recall how the cost compared to booking on your own? Wondering, we still have about a year until our cruise! [emoji5]
-
Yes, international, BDL to BCN, we picked flights and seats - same flights we would have had if we had booked direct via American Airlines. [emoji322] (but RCCL)
-
I'd be interested in NCLers' experiences as well. We had great luck with our RCCl Choice Air last fall (saved $400 each). Our next cruise is NCL and even our PCC advised against using NCL air.
-
I just called NCL to inquire. The "no frills" option is available on "select sailings" and not the same time period across the ships. So, for example on our Getaway, it's certain sailings from March-July. For another ship, it's from March - August. mystery solved, to me anyway [emoji5]
-
Are you sure you can't switch? When we had picked a promo, the rep said we could change the promo if we wanted.

We're on the 9/28 sailing, because it was best for us timing-wise and price can't be beat!
