If NCL books your flights don't make any assumption that you will get a non stop, in fact you are likely to have at least one connection. they are not good at booking for convenience.

we booked our flight thru NCL and will be flying from Detroit to Dulles and then on an early morning direct flight with Copa. I have checked the status of this flight which is a daily flight and their on-time record is probably the best of any airline. I will try and remember to let you know how the flight went upon our return (Dec 27).

One more question - is it luck of the draw which of the locks the ship uses?  We are leaving Panama City and heading to Colon.  I assume we'll use the old locks, but are they "one way" or do ships just use which ever one is available?  I checked a couple map programs and photos appear to show ships going both directions in each lock.

I was told that the Jewel uses the old locks - doing the canal mid December

We're not going to Cartagena.  That would've been the previous leg from Panama city (Port Fuerte Amador) to transit Panama canal to Colon, to Caribbean islands including ABC and Cartagena, and end up in Colon.  NCL cancelled that leg so we missed that.

Really enjoyed reading about your day in Antigua!  Thank you!

Really enjoying your reviews, making me wish we were going sooner than December.

That explains it.  I'm from Canada.  Someone else also responded to one of my post earlier quoting the T&C, and I checked and checked but couldn't find that said info.

So for Canadian bookings, the deviation is a "fee".  A charge, not a credit.

We have a booking for Jan 2023 out of San Diego and my invoice shows a credit to me for the air deviation. This is a rebooking for a Jan 2022 cruise also out of San Diego and that also showed a credit to me.

  5. I had seen this promo and did a mock booking (live in Ontario) and found it to be an overall savings between 500 and 600 Canadian so I called my TA and she agreed and we rebooked, lost a couple of items but in the long run was worth it. Now just have to wait and see what issues arise with the Norwegian air booking.
