If NCL books your flights don't make any assumption that you will get a non stop, in fact you are likely to have at least one connection. they are not good at booking for convenience.
we booked our flight thru NCL and will be flying from Detroit to Dulles and then on an early morning direct flight with Copa. I have checked the status of this flight which is a daily flight and their on-time record is probably the best of any airline. I will try and remember to let you know how the flight went upon our return (Dec 27).

Thanks everyone, we are on the same cruise and that information regarding moving about is what I was told as well
-
Has anyone heard of what the roll out will be to the main dining room meus. I read that the Prima already has the change in place and that NCL will be rolling it out to the entire line. Just wondering on timing and what ships will be impacted.

Check out Odyssey Tours - 10 in 1 seems to be very popular and will meet your needs

We are doing the 12 day from Panama to San Diego, a lot of the same ports. Read good reviews on Odyssey tours 10 in 1 Puntarenas. We have booked this for our trip and will comment after we have done it, a full 8 hour excursion with all the major hi-lites.
Also are doing whale watching in Cabo as the timing is right.

One more question - is it luck of the draw which of the locks the ship uses? We are leaving Panama City and heading to Colon. I assume we'll use the old locks, but are they "one way" or do ships just use which ever one is available? I checked a couple map programs and photos appear to show ships going both directions in each lock.
I was told that the Jewel uses the old locks - doing the canal mid December

I have read on here that they do sail on Monday and are out on the Atlantic overnight and then do the canal. I remember this because the poster said that was the roughest waters of the entire trip. Hope this helps.
We are a group of 4 from Ontario and doing this cruise

You should have seen the look on the waiter’s face when I asked for a half order of tiramisu!
Could never imagine ordering a half portion of dessert. Thanks everyone for the great information, really looking forward to this same cruise Dec 12th.

We're not going to Cartagena. That would've been the previous leg from Panama city (Port Fuerte Amador) to transit Panama canal to Colon, to Caribbean islands including ABC and Cartagena, and end up in Colon. NCL cancelled that leg so we missed that.

Really enjoying your reviews, making me wish we were going sooner than December.

Thanks for your posts, sounds like you are having an amazing time. Any information on excursions or ports will be so helpful.

Thanks for all your information. Looking forward to doing this cruise in December.

A question for you on flight. I see you are from Toronto, we are from the Lake Huron area and have decided to fly out of Detroit. Did you use the air promo from NCL and if so how were your flight times. I had looked at booking our own flights but couldn`t find anything reasonable.
Let me know about your experience - Thanks

Thank you for your report, I hope that you will keep us up to date on your cruise. We are doing this same itinerary on December 12th

Looking forward to reading your review as not cruising till 2023 - this will be my escape

Thanks everyone you have been very helpful with my query

I am thinking of booking a 2 bedroom suite on the Jewel, have looked at the floor plan and wonder what they consider as the second bedroom. Can you help me with this.

That explains it. I'm from Canada. Someone else also responded to one of my post earlier quoting the T&C, and I checked and checked but couldn't find that said info.
So for Canadian bookings, the deviation is a "fee". A charge, not a credit.
We have a booking for Jan 2023 out of San Diego and my invoice shows a credit to me for the air deviation. This is a rebooking for a Jan 2022 cruise also out of San Diego and that also showed a credit to me.

Does anyone have any comments on Best Western Plus Hacienda in Old Town as looking at booking for the end of December before our cruise.
-
I had seen this promo and did a mock booking (live in Ontario) and found it to be an overall savings between 500 and 600 Canadian so I called my TA and she agreed and we rebooked, lost a couple of items but in the long run was worth it. Now just have to wait and see what issues arise with the Norwegian air booking.

Received information today from the third party I booked with that Hotel Miramar isn`t serving breakfast anymore. Called the hotel to find out status of the hotel and they have power (not generator) and hot water, my reservation for Dec 16th is good. What more can you ask for.

I sent an email directly to the manager at the Best Western + and got a response within minutes. The hotel site showed no rooms but he offered us a couple of rooms and another review stated hydro, hot water and resteraunts available.
