  1. I can relate to this poster about the lack of help from the cruise line. They use outside companies who you can not communicate by phone, text, or email. You fill out a form on their website. In the case of Celebrity it was chargerback.com . We arrived back from our cruise in November to the Rome cruise port. Our tag number was number 12. One of our pieces of luggage was missing. We had an AirTag. It showed it was still in the arrivals hall. We looked through all the bins and it was not there. Next thing we know the AirTag is showing movement. It went to the rome airport. We thought for sure the people who took the luggage would realize they had the wrong luggage. Next thing we know the luggage is in Amsterdam. Then it is in Southampton England. It’s sat there for seven days. The website asked if we had an AirTag. Yes, we said, and they said to post a location, which we did three days later they came back and said they can’t find our luggage. I again posted the location that the AirTag showed where the luggage was. Three days later again, the company said we cannot find the luggage. I contacted Lost and found at the Southhampton Airport by email. They referred my email to baggage. They said they had a bag there that matched our description with somebody else’s name on it. I alerted them to the fact we had a Delta gold medallion tag and also our names were on a slot on the side of the luggage. After much begging, they agreed to put my bag on a flight back to Wilmington NC. It took a couple days, but it did eventually get back to us. There was a lot of questions at the airport on why our luggage had somebody else’s name on it. They wanted us to report it to the police as it was a crime to put luggage on a plane that did not belong to that person, but they had removed the tags that were on it. So somebody took our luggage and didn’t realize it until they got to England and just abandoned it all together. I was not happy, and I really feel celebrity was to blame because of the poor follow through with the company that they’ve hired to find lost luggage. And yet not happy with the people who took it that did not have the decency to report it. I don’t post much but have cruise for over 20 years and this has never happened. Our lock was missing but everything was there and it did not look like anyone went through the bag. No response from Celebrity until after 4 emails to the executive office.
  2. Actually we were lucky. We did a small group tour of Herculean in Naples through Celebrity and we only had 12 people. I think the max is 25.
  3. It is not just MSC. We are sailing on MSC in January and plan on carrying off our luggage. We got off the Celebrity Constellation on October 21 in Rome. One of our bags was missing. Celebrity’s response was, “it happens all the time, don’t worry you will get it back.” Celebrity uses a company called Chargerback.com where you put in your information. No one to talk to. We did get a report at the terminal to use for insurance. They still have not located the luggage. Now I know why people carry off their luggage. Unfortunately I plan on doing this from now on,
  4. We had no issue cancelling excursions 24 hours in advance. You only need to fight for the ones outside of that timeline.
  5. We were in room 9125 on the constellation. I thought we would be under the carpeted dining areas towards the beginning and would get little noise. Apparently we were under where they store all of the liquor and supplies for the ocean view bar and at 6:00 am we would be woken up to the carts going back and forth. The rest of the day it was quiet until the evening when they moved it all back in. Our neighbors in the handicap room next to us said they heard nothing (9123).
  6. Thank you! I didn’t realize it was so close. My husband has some mobility issues so was unsure how he would handle the people mover with luggage.
  7. Is it possible to take a taxi from Piazzale Roma to the Tronchetto parking area to meet the cruise ship buses to Ravenna instead of taking the people mover? If this has been addressed, I apologize. I tried to search without success. Thank you!
  8. I guess we must have been there on a day they were more aggressive because my husband told them no several times and they would not stop. They were In your face continually. Our tour guide say they were Venezuelans who crossed over illegally. The tour guide says that their country offers no financial help and they are not allowed to apply for jobs or go to school, so this is the only way they make money. I don’t know if this is true but this is what we were told. I am glad you had a good experience.
  9. WOW! Our experience on the Edge after Thanksgiving was totally different. There was a major rainstorm which delayed excursions by an hour. We were on a celebrity excursion. The street vendors were constantly “in our face” and we were told by our guide not to make eye contact. It really ruined our experience in old town and the fort. Half of the bus chose to go back to the bus instead of the 30 minute free time we had in the old city. We saw very few police officers. At the end of the tour we were dropped off in the dark where we had to walk through the park and then pass the duty free store. The area was poorly lighted. One man fell after stepping in an empty flower pot left in the walk way. Another passenger hurt himself the same way on another tour (found this out when I went to shore excursions the next day to share my concern). Cartagena is a port I will not choose to return too. I’ve dealt with vendors in Mexico, but not like this. No was not a response they accepted.
