  1. If the WC ends up even going to Abu Dhabi, that is. I have my doubts, and I’m on that prior Singapore-Abu Dhabi segment. Following closely what Silver Moon is doing.  It appears from that discussion that Regent ships could go from Colombo straight to S Africa and then up the West Coast to the Med so as not to impact the season there.  This would bypass India (bummer) and the Middle East stops (not a bummer) entirely.  I would be very interested in staying on for the potential new route around Africa.

  2. I respectively disagree BuenaVista, and appreciate everyone’s thoughts and updates. Keep them coming please.  I have a Regent cruise in that area in March/April, so very interested in what Silversea is doing.  I truly appreciate all the anxiety that Moon guests are currently feeling.  My uneasiness is already beginning to build.  But it’s forums like this one that are so important for us to stay updated, exchange ideas — and hopefully reduce the stress just a little by having a more complete understanding of the situation on board.

  3. Well Drron, I for one appreciate your analysis and rough calculations on what might/might not be possible. Terry, your updates are also very much appreciated.

  4. Thank you for all the information. I just booked r/t mid-October 2024 on the Pollux. Only hiccup is that this journey spans full moon time on either side. But it’s the only date in late 2024 that works for our schedules. Also sprang for one of the Lighthouse Suites.

  5. Danger is because if things sound a little too good to be true… well then… you know what.  I hope that is not the case, but AZ is now into its 7th month since the system cutover (hard to believe!) and still so much frustration.  Growing pains should have come and gone by now.

All the more reasons that Azamara should be flourishing at this point.  They were set free by RCCL due to the huge debt situation that RCCL had taken on……something had to go and it was Azamara.  Sycamore took them on and invested in the fleet.  Everything was going quite well until the IT disaster.  Azamara did have time to try to get things in order before the data transfer occurred.  There possibly was only so much they could do, due to corrupt data from RCCL.  I don’t know….

But what I do know is that the CEO was attempting to communicate through the IT disaster at a minimal level….not very well.  And then she has stopped even trying to communicate.  Why?  Not much improvement in weeks and months.  And now there are very frequent “sales” e-mails and emails going out to customers with bookings about discounted beverage packages that lead to more IT disasters.  Right now, I can’t defend any of their actions,

I do worry about Azamara’s financial situation because of the bungled IT disaster and the frustration of so many customers and their travel agents.  If TA’s don’t want to deal with this mess, they will redirect their customers to companies that have functional web sites and decent customer service.

And speaking of sales, another new one today and the offers are getting sweeter.  I brought this up early on in the thread as something to watch out for.  Warning, Warning! Danger Will Robinson!  (Some humor for those fans of Lost in Space… loved that program!)

Dear Carol, is there any update on the status of the issues and expected resolution timeline?  Total silence from management for a LONG time. Surely you can spare a few minutes to update your loyal clientele. I experienced a wonderful cruise on the Pursuit in late spring, however will not consider booking again until I have some sense of when these issues will be resolved.  Thanks so much for any update you can provide.

  7. Yes. in June. You may also take a pleasant walk into the local port town with quite a few shops and restaurants on the way. We had the best fresh fish meal of our entire 14 day cruise at one of the restaurants there.  Out of this world and so authentic. Don’t be bashful if you see something that intrigues you!

  8. They’ve been once daily now for about a week. The survey, the crazy Rio Carnivale one, and many repeats of the Hurry-it’s-not-too-late 3 free nights and $600 OBC variety. They do not bolster my confidence in their current situation.

Just received a email inviting me to complete a survey.  Copied the link provided and it took me to a site called Cruise Brand Q3 23 PG.  Filled in first two pages, age etc and number of cruises/other vacations.  Page 3 invited to rank different wishes and experiences.  Select 4 from a list of 10.  Guess what - that proves impossible to fill in - or select any of the options.

Is it just me ?  Or is it just another Azamara mess ?

     A hot mess!

  10. Next are: Cunard Queens Grill (7 nights), Regent (18 nights), Regent (20 nights), Princess (solely for itinerary, 28 nights, PH suite), and Oceania R-ship (18 nights).  I'm through with Azamara until the current senior management team is gone and my online account is accurate (on its own, without any more hours of follow up from me).

I wish we could get back to the Azamara we all know and loved.  In the meantime, improved communication is what is really needed right now since their website situation is still in disarray.   It’s obvious to most of us.

What would really help would be to reinstitute an Azamara Cruise Critic blogger type position that we had with Bill Leiber and then later from Bonnie MacLaird.

I fear that Azamara is losing loyal customers due to its customer service issues all stemming from the website woes and poor communication.

Would that not be beyond AZAMAZING?!?!   What an AZAMAZING opportunity that would be for the senior management team to roll out immediately.  Oops… I forgot, the management team is way too _____ (fill in the blank).  Bonnie and Bill, you got out at the right time for sure.  I hope you are both doing well and enjoying much good health, success, and wonderful travels!  We miss you here!

Captain Hall confirmed at one of the recent CWC cocktail parties (I think 2 weeks ago, maybe?) that all cabins will have a WiFi access point added.

Other than that, I haven't heard anything more!

    Thank you!

What is her first cruise after the refit? We are joining on November 28 for the NY to Caribbean.

Looks like drydock begins 22-Oct and the first cruise is 16-Nov.  But that is only going by the online schedules that are posted at a big online agency.
