*to disembark*
-
The number of ships in port on the day you disembark isn't necessarily an indicator of how smoothly the process will go. We were on the 2/13 Indy sailing and the only ship in port when we got back, yet it still took us over three hours disembark.
-
We also did the Amazing Cozumel Race and it remains one of our favorite excursions ever.
-
We did the Amazing Cozumel Race last year and LOVED it. It's one of our favorite excursions to date.

Skyking is absolutely right. RCI is not only LGBT-friendly, it's downright embracing. One of the reasons we're loyal to Royal is because they are so welcoming to the LGBT community.

From the website:
Your friends and family can contact the ship by calling (888) 724-7447. Or from outside the U.S. they can call (321) 953-9003. The cost is $7.95 USD a minute and can be charged to their MasterCard® or Visa®. From outside the U.S. additional long distance charges will also apply.
You can make ship-to-shore calls from your stateroom, 24 hours a day. The cost is $7.95 USD per minute and will be automatically charged to your SeaPass account.
You can also use our onboard Internet Cafés, stateroom Internet connection, or Hot Spots to send an e-mail to your friends or family for a minimal fee.

We've stayed on the whole time once or twice. It's typically quite empty and it's easy to sit in some of the public areas and not see anyone for hours. No perks for staying behind that I've ever seen except that it's much more quiet and relaxing. Well, that's a perk. :)

I've gotten into the RCI port building by 10:00 a.m. and they let us on the ship a few minutes after 11.

We just had an onboard announcement that there will be no itinerary changes. Between that, the latest storm track taking it wayyyyyy down by the Keys, and being a longtime Florida resident, I have every confidence we'll be in port Monday without a problem and the next group will be on their way on time. *fingers crossed*

Sorry, doing this on my phone and thought it would enlarge. Essentially it informs us that this ship could end up anywhere and our itinerary could fully or partially change at any time.
-
Whoops! Sorry that's sideways.

I just got off the Enchantment on Monday. There's no dedicated B & J like there are on other ships but they have a limited selection in a freezer at Cafe Latitudes.

We had a promenade room on Liberty and had no noise issues at all. I'm sure we would have heard the 70's party if we'd been in the room, though. I'd book another promenade room in a heartbeat.

I notice there are quite a few commenters from Tampa and the surrounding area (me too, hi!). Is that there anything we can do to help?
Eight phone lines for 2,500 passengers has to be a challenge. I'd be happy to offer my email address if anyone wants contact me and have me make phone calls to hotels, family, etc on their behalf.

I bring crazy glue in case I break a nail. I tried to track some down in the ship's spa a few months ago and it didn't go too well.
-
I didn't receive an email but I called the Royal Romance department (888-933-7225) after I read this post and was told the offer is available fleet wide. The package is as you described and you can bring additional guests for $50 per person. As far as I know, you can't book this on board because you have to sign and return a contract to them (via email/fax) prior to payment and boarding.
I don't have any experience with vow renewal at sea but I'd love to hear opinions as well!

My husband saw Brilliance as he drove down the Selmon on his way to work. Maybe you passed each other! :D We'll be on her next month so I'll be watching your review with interest. Thanks for doing this!

Dona Dilla is about two miles north of the pier across the street from Parque Andres Quintana Roo (or Parque Andres on Quintana Roo, I see it listed both ways on Google Maps).
-
There's a tiny restaurant in Cozumel called Dona Dilla that has free wifi and fantastic food.
-
We always park in the lot right at the port. We've never had any issues and getting to the port building is a nice short walk.

I just got off the 9/11 4-nighter. Assuming everything is the same as our trip, you'll have a 70's party, formal night, and a poolside white party (where guests are encouraged to were white). If you want to participate in the Thriller dance, you can also take some zombie clothes but if you don't have any, they have a few things on hand you can borrow.
I didn't note the menus in the MDR, sorry.

If the walls are yellow, I'm going to have to cancel my cruise. I can't eat in a room with yellow walls.
:D:D

I'll ask around on my upcoming cruise because I'm certain the bartenders at Schooner are kept advised of all of corporate decisions. Good thing I'm sailing soon so we have time to organize a letter-writing campaign and maybe an in-person protest at one of the ports. I suffered enough trauma when I had to sail Majesty last month without knowing the in-room TV sizes in advance. I simply can't go through something like that again.

Yes. The number of silly concerns and questions here seems to have exploded the past week. One of my favorites was the concern that Dynamic Dining would mean the end of chilled soups......:D:rolleyes:
Agreed. I've begun texting my husband while he's at work with some of the nutty stuff people ask. I'm really at a loss for why people need such micro-details about their trip right down to the size if the bath towels. Just go and enjoy the experience, stop agonizing over what color the Windjammer walls will be.

We just got off Indy a week ago and Global Entry passengers were re-routed to a different line.
